Coming Home Again #3

A Discovery of Hope: Coming Home Again, Book 3

Rate this book
Do you believe in angels? Willow Carter certainly did not, until Hope showed up and refused to leave. This insistent angel opens Willow’s eyes to a world filled with incredible people in many forms—a purple-headed artist with a heart lined in pure gold, an autistic young man who sees the world through different eyes, a homeless woman trying to survive. As if they weren’t enough, JP Thorton enters Willow’s life and turns it upside down and around and round. The surfboard-riding photographer needs to understand how to claim hope, too.

Willow and JP go on a journey for something we all need and it leads them to a discovery of hope. Such a powerful thing hope can be, and an endless journey of wonder when truly discovered. Hope can change everything. You only need a spark of it to lead to a blazing wonder.

4 3/4 Stars!!!
T.I. Lowe does it again! Another fantastic novel, that is so hard to put down. I will admit that I was a little hesitant about the whole angel part of the storyline prior to reading this. Not that I don't believe in angels, I do, I just lean heavily on the biblical description of them and not the Hollywood version. That said, I wasn't sure what to expect, but once I dove into the story I was hooked. The angel plot is part of the story but isn't the main point. Willow, and God's transforming work in her life and through her is the main thing. Yes, there is romance, wonderful truths peppered throughout and more! Seriously, Lowe has me hooked! I cannot wait for her next novel!

The only thing I can say that is not glowing, is that there are several editorial typos. Despite this you still understand what Lowe is saying through the characters and you will be captivated by the story.
I definitely recommend this one!

Willow is in a bad car accident but an awesome creature named Hope led her back from the brink.
We have heard of guardian angels but Willow is blessed to see hers, with the iridescent shimmering wings.
As Willow heals, Hopes introduces her to a variety of people with imperfections that become her friends and help with her healing.
You will love the purple headed artist, the shy autistic kid, the woman trying to heal from a life of abuse and most of all the flamboyant Gal Pals.
My favorite quote in the book"You are in the potter's hands, constantly shaping and molding you.You are wonderfully and beautifully made."
I loved the beach settings and all of Willow's journey from healing ,to finding love. This is a love story to savor.
The ending reached up and slapped me in the face. Wow!!

Wow!

I am blown away by this awesome book. I laughed and I cried. I think this is my favorite in this series by T. I. Lowe. This author is amazing. I have loved all of her books. This was so good, I could not put it down. While my family watched the super bowl I read this sweet story. I'm so glad I did. I was truly blessed by it. I just hope there is a book about Duke. I kinda fell in love with him and want to see him with his own happily ever after. Please get this book. You will love it. I promise.

Wonderful. Wonderful. Wonderful. I love Lowe's books so very much! Her southern tales with genuine southern characters weave a spell that makes reading exactly what it is meant to be. A DISCOVERY OF HOPE is simply another great example of Lowe's incredible skills as a story teller. I can read her books all day long! My favorite part is that I can Lowe's own adorable southern accent through every word. I dure wish that Willow, John Paul, Duke, Sanannah, Lucas, Greyson, Julia Rose, Miss May, the Gal Pals, and everyone else was real so I could hang out with all of them and worship with them. :)

Started out well-enough, focus on hope when life is too difficult, seeing others thru compassion instead of self-focus. Didn't care for the lusty kissing that became predominant, became too sappy & predictable towards the end. Dragged on in the last third of book.

A Triumph of Spirit and Storytelling

T.I. Lowe for a trifecta!!!

In the literary world, few authors possess the remarkable ability to breathe life into their characters the way T.I. Lowe does. The third from her compelling Coming Home Again series "A Discovery of Hope," is not just a book—it's a profound journey that tugs at the heartstrings and awakens the soul. Lowe's unparalleled storytelling prowess, combined with her deep emotional insight, crafts a narrative that is both captivating and deeply moving.

"A Discovery of Hope" is an exploration of the human condition, a tapestry rich with the values of compassion, humility and love. Through her vivid characters and intricate plot, Lowe guides us through a range of emotions, from the darkest corners of despair to the luminous heights of spirit. This book serves as a reminder that, even in our darkest moments, there is always a glimmer of hope.

Lowe's narrative is a testament to the power of storytelling to bridge generations, mend families and unravel the complexities of the human heart. Each page is a celebration of her ability to create characters that are not merely figures in a story but reflections of our deepest selves—flawed, resilient and profoundly lovable.

In "A Discovery of Hope," T.I. Lowe does more than tell a story; she weaves a gospel of empathy, unity and resilience. It's a narrative that not only entertains but enlightens, urging us to recognize the angels among us and the beauty that can emerge from darkness.

Thank you, T.I. Lowe, for gifting us with another journey that enriches the soul and challenges us to be better. Your storytelling is a beacon of hope in a world craving light.

"A Discovery of Hope" is more than a must-read; it's an experience that will leave you transformed, grateful and reflective.
Wrapping this series is a testament to your unparalleled talent and a light of hope in a world that often seems devoid of it.

Willow Carter is in a horrific car accident, nearly permanently dying. She does recover (otherwise, what would be the point of the book), but she is changed forever. She no longer desires to be her parents' perfect little girl, doing everything to please them.

One side effect of the accident for Willow is she now sees an angel (named Hope) upon occasion. She's not so much a guardian angel as she is an assigned angel. Hope relentlessly encourages Willow to do things outside her comfort zone until Willow succumbs acquiesces. Things like talk to a guy with purple hair or sit by the guy with autism (and engage him!).

Willow has to do an internship as part of her major, and she winds up at the Thornton Gallery, operated by the (of course) super handsome JP Thornton. To call his demeanor gruff upon meeting him is like calling an explosion violent. But he is an outstanding photographer. [Major nit that I am rant picking: If your major is photography, and you want to be a professional photographer, you need to have a camera with you ALL THE TIME -- I'm not sure how many times Willow regretted not having a camera with her because of some beauteous scene, but more than once is ridiculous.]

I am not the primary target audience for this type of book, but I do like good stories, even if the genre (romance) is traditionally directed toward women. The blurb for this made it seem interesting, or at least something piqued my curiosity for it. Aside from the major failure mentioned before, this was a fairly enjoyable book. I could relate to the major characters on some level. I would like to read about the continuing adventures of Willow and JP and their families.

E-Reader. Christian story of Hope & Love

Willow Carter was in a very bad car accident, which caused TBI, traumatic brain injury. Her father is a neurosurgeon & had another expert to fly in to try & save Willow. In a coma for long a long time. She had to learn to speak again & many other p/t.
Her major in school was to be a doctor like her Dad. She changed to photography & art. Her angel Hope comes into her life. Two bible verses are important, 1 Corinthians 5-7 & Matthew 25: 40.
She becomes a famous photographers intern for the summer with J P Thorton. He has 2 art galleries. She interns at the one in Charleston, SC.
Hope gets to open he eyes, first why her Mom divorced her father & so much more. She gets bad migraine headaches still & has medicine to get through them.
She meets so many different people who she learns to also love.
This book is outstanding & a really great book. Read & enjoy it. Yes there is hope!

This book series is not an easy read as it deals with the trauma of rape, alcoholism to numb the pain from the past, and deep guilt over losing family during a troubled childhood.

The author is so vividly painting each character and their tumultuous life experiences that I read the 3 books in less than a week. At the core of each story is a profound journey of pain and healing; the characters face deeply rooted wounds, from broken relationships and grief to trauma and self-doubt, each struggling with the weight of their pasts.

The 3 siblings (Savanah, Julia, and JP) are the broken protagonists in each book in the series. It is best if read in order as their story is intertwined with their history of childhood trauma.

The series is a page turner as it shines in its emotional depth and exploration of real-life issues of grief and healing.

Beautifully broken... “Your battle scar is not a flaw. It is a testimony of a miracle."

I don't know where to begin. This book both captivated and made me want to throw it away. I enjoyed what the meeting with Hope did to Willow, how it opened her eyes to the world, how it forced her to find the better version of herself, how it pushed her out of her comfort zone into her destiny, how Willow's courage grows as she discovers what makes her tick and decides to run after it. I enjoyed reading about JP fighting his past and overcoming it. But the way everything is wrapped only in physical attraction... Well, I think it could've been more beautiful. Did they have to behave like jerks (oh, it's acceptable because they feel this strong attraction?), couldn't they be more christian-like in they behavior, were the moments like the one at the party when JP tells Willow that he can't talk to her because then he'll have to send all the people home really necessary? It was like reading a contemporary romance where characters keep annoying one another until the attraction is so thick they end up sleeping and after that jump to the wedding and that's "normal". While we don't have that, there's still the rush wedding (without even the family knowing) based only on attraction. There's no love, no mention of commitment, of knowing one another. Just that "we can't keep our hands off each other so we're going to marry like tomorrow and that's a sure guaranty of living happily ever after". I expected more than this. Not saying it's not happening in our world today, just saying that its either that, or we decide to follow Christ and then we will better control our desires, we decide to marry for more reasons than "I can't keep my hands off you right now" and we definitely not jump to marriage in 2 days and don't hide it from family, we won't behave (always) like we hate somebody to hide some physical attraction.

The book was pretty good. I’m a fan of T.I Lowe’s books. The only problem with this book was the race relations. I don’t know if Lowe ran by some of interactions by black people or not but no black person or person of color I’ve met likes to be referred to as “exotic” it feeling degrading most of the time. The age gap was kinda weird especially when it’s a boss/employee relationship like the dad would not have been happy in reality. 14 years is kinda a lot especially when the younger person is 20. There were some lustful scenes in my opinion. They technically didn’t do anything wrong but we are told to flea from temptation and they were doing none of that. The basic plot was really good though I LOVE stories with angels in it and I liked seeing both their personal growth.

Good book

Ms Lowes stories are special, creative, beautiful. Her writing invokes pictures in the brain so I feel as if I'm in the gallery, or on the beach.
This story had grammar typos, something I don't think I saw at all in the other two of this story. And while I love the bible phrases they didn't hit me the same way as they did in previous stories.
I think this was the third story to round out the siblings. She does a good job of explaining JP and his actions but I think it could've been fleshed out a bit more. In Julia's story we saw it from both characters' views. This story could've benefited from the same method.
I'm glad I read it tho.

Lowe again starts the book out with a bang, you will be page turning as fast as you can from the start. This is an incredible story of how Jesus guides us,and has a plan for us that we can never ever comprehend. Hope is one of my favorite book characters I have read about in a while, I think that Lowe made her seem so realistic, and she reminds me so much of the Holy Spirits guidance in our lives. JP and Willow's relationship is also realistic and heartwarming as they discover just how much God has intervened in their lives. I feel like this was the perfect end to the Coming Home Again series.

New Beginnings

Willow finds out her parents are getting a divorce and her mom is leaving. She goes to talk with her dad. He tells her go away, she looks like her. This is the beginning of a very long year. She is in a very bad accident that should have killed her, but she got sent back with her own angel. But Hope her angel helps find her way and broaden her friends and brings her loved JP who she ends up interning for her photography degree.

So much depth

This story had so many layers to it.

Willow creates so many lasting relationships throughout this book. I love that the author breaks through a number of stereotype barriers.. And I love that she found a way to add a character with Autism.. in a way that shows the miracle that these individuals truly are.

Willow and JP find healing throughout this book in a believable way.. and the author wove it together in a fantastic, complex fashion. Bravo author!!!

Thought provoking!

I have never read a book like this before! I love how Willow comes full circle with her life with the help from her guardian angel, Hope. She sees and talks to Hope through the darkest hours of her life following what should have been a fatal accident. I really enjoyed following Willow' s journey of life and love!

A Discovery of Hope

The premise of this story was that no matter what happens we should have hope and trust in God's plan for us. It was exciting to see two people find each other after such a tragic event which showed them who is in charge. Very well written, thank you for writing uplifting stories.

You Need To Read This Series

If you’re not reading her books then you are missing out! They just keep getting better and better! I can’t put them down and have to just keep going until I finish! This one was full of surprises just like the others; you may think you have it figured out, but you’re probably wrong! Love this author and can’t wait for the next book!

Gripping

This author... Her stories are intense and deep. You sometimes need to read between the lines. I hope Duke gets his story. He was so funny. I can’t put her books down, but I will say they are the edgier side. No judgement her,e, just that it will shock some people. I am a survivor of trauma so I get it.

I loved the authors change in the story line from so many romance books. I also enjoyed the clean theme through out. There were a couple of times I thought I was a little lost but it all came around. Even though I pretty much figured out who JP was long before the end I still enjoyed this book.

I really like how this story rapped up the tail of the 3 siblings. This one explored grief, redemption & how our own subtle prejudices cause us to miss out on things.
