Currently, he is a commissioned police officer serving in a street level counter drug and gang unit. Son of Orlan (Chronicles of Kin Roland #2) by Scott Moon is another exciting novel with creatures, fighting, battles, and shape shifters. Sgt Orlan has his son here and trying to make a connection to him. Meanwhile, the Mazz army and Reapers and destroying everything, Kin is trying to save his woman and all hell is broke loose. Another great adventure! Orlan's son is my favorite character in the books, poor kid.

A strange tale of war between races.

I liked how the story ended but the build up to it was a bit of a let down. The lack of detail hurt the battle scenes, especially the final one. I was disappointed.

I really liked the progression in the book, but close to the ending it felt extremely rushed as the final battle just seems to not have descriptions and just ends very abruptly.

I liked this better than book 1; although it’s still not amongst my favorites. I much prefer John Ringo. There was one interesting twist, two intriguing pieces of information, a tiny bit of character development, and an absolutely wasteful death of a main character. Going to read #3 to see how it all wraps up. Hopefully it will follow the arc of improvement.

I'm totally wowed with this book 2! This has been a roller coaster! So many different situations and decisions, mind boggling! The characters are genuine! This series is so unique and original, with all kinds of aliens, from Earth Fleet, the Wingers, Reapers, Clingers, the Imperial warriors, and yes, the Slomns! The personage of Clavender and her powers left me breathless! I even felt sorry and sad for Groon, Mr. Scott describes them so well and realistically, you can feel their desperation and goals. Kin Roland makes a great leader. Off to book 3! Love this series!
