Overview: Lottie Sprigg has returned to Fortescue Manor, with her travelling companion Mrs. Moore. Their return has coincided with a dinner parter intended to bridge the gap between the Buckley-Phelps and their neighboring Lord. Unfortunately, the heir of the other family, Percy, is found dead. Who could possibly want Percy dead? And who is snooping around Fortescue Mano? Let's find out.

Dislikes: Percy is a brat. He is the average cheapskate who tries to steal from those around him. Don't want to pay full price for grapes? Just accuse the greengrocer of selling moldy food. Don't like a schoolmate? Find something that could get him in trouble.

On that point, the police constable that was in charge of the investigation seemed determined to hang Barty for the crime. And it was all based on how the officer met the Barty as a boy.

Likes: Rosie is cute. A little corgi is always cute, mainly due to how they are built. And this one has the added benefit of total innocence. She isn't quite built to have the self-awareness that can cause trouble.

Mrs. Moore should have had a great way to deal with a stalker. It's not her fault that some people don't take no for an answer.

Conclusion: This was a good story. If you like cozy mystery mixed with historical fiction, then this book is for you. Enjoy the read.
