Prince Joron of Blade Rain was kissed by a man he had no idea was King Aric of Claymoor Doom. Of course King Aric had no idea the one he kissed was even a man since Joron was dressed as a woman. Disguised in order to escape the newly crowned king of Blade Rain who just happens to be Joron's brother, Joron is swept off his feet by Aric when he is rescued by him from an assault. Aric is also swept off his feet by the beauty of the "woman" and that one amazing kiss. Aric, who is led to believe the beautiful woman he kissed is actually the princess, immediately goes to the king of Blade Rain and offers for the princess’s hand in marriage and his offer is accepted. Unfortunately, King Aric is now betrothed to Liarta, Joron’s sister. But an emergency has King Aric racing home without finding out the mistake he has made and now Joron must ride to Claymoor Doom to renegotiate the offer since Liarta is in love with someone else and does not want to marry King Aric.

Imagine Aric’s surprise when he discovers the Prince is the one he thought was the Princess! So Aric does the only thing he can think of. He will release Liarta from her obligation of marriage, but only if Joron takes her place... in the marriage bed.

Hi, my name is Hurri Cosmo and I am a happy ending junkie. I always have been. You can be pretty rest assured everything I write will have one. I am not big on angst. I believe we get enough of that in real life so when I go to read something, to make the real world go away for awhile, I will most likely not chose something that will make me cry. So I write for those people who, at least occasionally, feel the same way. I’m okay with the fact I will probably never write anything “important” but I guess I will have to see where my imagination takes me. I would love it if you would come along.

A very solid plot but the writing of it could be much better.
Way, way too much internal dialog which makes reading feels like wading through quicksand.

Why couldn't there have been dialog between Relel and his brother, the king, from the beginning? All that narration was total uninterested waste.

Though it's fantasy-land the overuse of some modern words belittled some of the dialogs. The context 'fake' this and 'fake' that' was used could have been avoided. geez. I will say that I loved the 'chamber pot room' -quite original name for the bathroom -a word which I was very glad was not used. Fantasyland or not.

One moment Joran can stand up for himself and the next he's a slobbering dependent 'child'.

All that is fine. He perhaps had a sort of meltdown which is understandable. Every body wants a piece of him; to kill him or to xxxx him including his 'not-brother'.

DNF. Read like fanfic. Joron was a chick with a dick. He was so naive, clueless, gullible, and too forgiving that he became annoying. Aric was an abusive manipulative asshat to Joron, even though the whole kingdom sang his praises. Aric didn't use any lube when he took Joron's virginity, but started using it after. I didn't get pulled into these MCs, didn't care about them and lost interest.

WARNING: Attempted rape.

I am at 16% and thinking of DNFing.

The writing was OK in the very beginning, so there was definitely editing. However, after Prince Joron left the castle for the second time the editor quit with him(?) and the writing became totally clumsy like. (<-- Just a little taste of it 😉)

Prince Joron. It's like he's smothered in love potion #9*. Everybody wants him. Everybody. From the first page: his servant, his brother, a stable hand, a very noble King Aric.

In the first 15% of the book Joron was sexually assaulted four times, out of which twice by his own brother.
And here is the gem: also by his "savior", a just and noble King Aric, who forced himself upon the prince almost immediately after saving him from a stable hand.

It was supposed to be sexy(?), but only got a "OMFG" out of me, an intense eyeroll and an strong urge to explore 1 star reviews.

I'm going to try to make it through another 10-15%, see what happens.
Will report back.

2 pages later King Aric's guard is at it 🙄🙄🙄
Instead of guarding Joron, he's ogling his ass.

I am done.

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. This is a wonderful story, did not want it to end or to put it down. Joron is a young prince who is trying to take care of his people due to his father the king being a bad king. This is his story of adventure and finding love. The emotional roller coaster ride he takes you on is exciting and if you don't cry a few times you are missing a heart. Aric is a king and working on becoming High king when he meets Joron. He will do anything to have him even go to war. Joron's brother is also in love with him and does not care they are half brothers. Joron story is a exception story. I highly recommend to all, even if you don't like MM. The story is to good to pass up. Happy reading.

I'm close to giving it a five star. I loved it! The story is compelling, the characters well rounded, the universe Hurri build is finely described. You cannot hate anyone in this book, Hurri has managed to rend as flawed human beings even the bad guys. You have shift turn of situation, tender moments, some hot sex and true love battling to survive all the intrigue caused by the wish for power, the lust and greed humans are usually guilty off. Even Joron, the figure of innocence in this book, is not perfect. He is weak, selfish sometimes and easily distracted by his emotions. He makes up for that with his equal self sacrifice, courage and lucid thinking. A big surprise is how much I started to love Diagus towards the end (he was apparently one of the bad guys), but you'll have to read the book to see why! No teasers here. I warmly recommend it to anybody liking a bit of historical setting, court intrigue, handsome powerful kings and compelling love stories.

This novel' screaming an editor's attention!!!
The plot left me speechless. Too unreal, cliche, childish, no characters development, And favoritism toward the main character.
It felt to me that the characters fall under two categories. Those who lust after Joran, and the few who wishes him gone.

I was quite conflicted about this book: on one hand, I really loved the beginning, the ridiculous confusion between prince Joron and king Aric, but as the book kept on, the plot started being kinda... flat? The characters began feeling conflicting and I was starting to be really tired of finding out who else has "deep feelings" for Joron...

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

This book was not really my cup of tea. It was well written for the most part, and told a pretty big story. There were times, though, that I found that it was just a bit too much and I found myself wanting to rush through it just to finish it.

I could not really connect much with Joron. He appeared to be very smart (he would secretly observe kingdom meetings and then secretly would help them), yet then he would be completely clueless regarding others trying to take advantage of him. There were an awful lot of people attempting to rape him or kill him, and that really annoyed me. It just seemed like way too much.

King Aric seemed to have the reputation of a fair and honest and awesome king. Everyone loved him and talked his praises. Yet when Joron first shows up, he becomes a complete jerk. It seemed very out of character for him to act that way. I did find myself liking him as the book went on, though.

Diagus. Ugh. What can I even say about him? Such a HUGE change in his personality throughout the book, yet no real explanation why. It made the story and character feel disjointed. Frankly, however, I started liking him as the book progressed and started liking the book more when he wasn't a complete jerk.

What did I like about the book? It was a solid story. Take away all of the rape attempts and it was an interesting concept. I liked seeing how everything worked out and I liked watching the relationship develop between Aric and Joron, as well as watching Diagus grow as a person.

While this wasn't my favorite book, I like the writing style of Hurri Cosmo. I will continue to look for more books by this author.

I received a copy of this book from the author via IndiGo Marketing & Design in exchange for an honest review

I found this book very hard to put down. It was fast paced, and well written. The characters, even the bad ones, are all easy to like. I do think at times that the story was a tiny bit over the top, but I think that was part of the fun of the story and what made it so good.

Joron is a young prince trying to sneak about and help the people of his kingdom because his father, the king, is a nasty jerk. When his father dies, his older half-brother, Diagus, becomes king. Joron’s ends up trying to save his sister from having to marry King Aric and by doing so, King Aric works it so that Joron has to take her place. He reluctantly agrees in order that his sister can marry the man she loves. This starts a battle of wills between King Aric and King Diagus. Diagus is in love with his half-brother and wants him for himself. Nothing is what it seems though. There are people plotting against everyone it seems every time you turn the page. Aric’s brother wants Joron for himself too. He finds a clever way to ensure that Aric and Joron can’t be together. And while King Aric is working to solve that issue, King Diagus has issues of his own. Did his father die of natural causes, or was he murdered? And is he really the king? Treason, lies, treachery, a bit of “alpha males arguing each other” as in “He’ mine”, plot twists, as well as falling in love, a cute little boy, friendship and really, really hot sex are all what you will find here.

I would highly recommend this to those who don’t mind a longer read who are looking for a more heavily plotted book with action, intrigue, and a medieval setting. This is one that I would gladly read again.

I read the earlier version of book one after it was release. The new version combined with book two was a good book. The plot line was strong and made sense. I did think the head hopping and some of the structure of the story could have been done better.

The writer has done a good job in making the story interesting and...well...likable. I enjoyed reading the story. The "bad" guys were mostly evil and the good guys for the most part are at heart good. The descriptions are well done. The world building was a bit light. You are lead to believe that for the most part the world is built around the medieval world with a few adjustments. This leaves a lot of detail out but the story can carry it off.

Obviously the characters are the drive in the story. There is a lot of obsessive love/attraction/devotion for Joron in the story. I must admit the author may take this just a little too far. It really becomes a bit unbelievable. Still you like the character and route for him to get his happiness.

Overall, the story is a fun, comfort type read. I enjoyed it and was very able to look past those items that were off in the story.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book! It was a little annoying how Joron kept hemming and hawing about everything. It was weird that seemed so shocked about being with a man even though he knew that his brother liked sex with men. He also seemed too innocent for someone who had been sneaking around since he was very young and listening to what his father did to his citizens. Aric also behaved counter to how he was portrayed in the beginning of the book. He was supposed to be a good, strong and fair king and the first time he met Joron, he forced himself on him. Not the actions of a "good" king.

Another thing that I did not care for is that everyone wanted sex with Joron, wether forced or not. That's just unbelievable. Besides these small irritants, the story is good and well written. Would love to read Diagus' story.

I was given an ARC by Huri Como for a fair and honest review.

Overall Impression:

5 * – It was amazing. If you notice in my reviews I rarely give this rating, because no matter how good the book is, they're is always something that could be improved upon. Not in this series. I am now a 100% Huri Como fan and am anxiously awaiting the final book in this trilogy. I want to Thank Huri for giving me the opportunity to read and review his work. It truly was a pleasure. I reccomend buying the extended version so you can flow immediately from th first book to the next.

Must read!

Truly loved this story! I was concerned there were too many characters that I wouldn't like that did not come to pass. The author handled each characters development very well and I loved the path she took with each one. Oh, the sex between Aric and Joron was so hot!!!

Although, parts were too wordy for me, it didn't detract from the story enough to give it less than 5 stars. I highly recommend!

Ended up putting this down two chapters away from the end of book 1. I got tired of everybody wanting to rape Jordan. All the characters are stereotypical and cliche. The pretty naive prince, the evil step mom, the lecherous king, the spoiled gods gift to the world heir, the loyal servants ready to help out the good prince, ect.

Aric truly made me swoon and Jaron made me want to protect him too hahaha but i wasnt much of a fan to the "rape-y" scene but it was still a great read ! Wish there was more the book didnt say what happened to Relel tho which was odd

Not Bad at All

Respectable fantasy. Had some trouble forgiving the actions of a certain non brother, but overall well done. Zero magic and the title has almost no relevancy to the plot or story. Still enjoyed it.

Diving into a new series, you never know what you are going to get. It takes a bit to get caught up with the world and get to know the characters. The thing with this series is there are quite a few characters to keep straight. There is plenty of backstory to make you feel like you are a part of the world.

This is an interesting M/M romance book that centers around Royalty and the duties that come along with being Royal. I really loved the fact that the romance between the two males was not the soul focus of the story, there is so much other stuff going on as well.

The characters are very well developed the evolution of the relationship was smooth and believable. I really enjoyed the evolution of Tama as a character in this story.

The plot and mystery kept me flipping pages til the very end.

I definitely recommend this series, make sure you start with Book 1 and go from there. This would not be a series you can jump into without reading the first.
