If you have a social media account of any kind, you need to read this book.
No, Sadie won’t bash social media and tell you to quit Instagram- instead, she will guide you to see social media through a different lens…one filled with purpose, intentionality, wisdom and truth.
Even if you only have ten followers, this book might be exactly what you need right now.

This book was a timely and thought-provoking one that explores faith and social media in today’s digital age. Sadie challenges readers to evaluate their relationship with social media and redirect their focus toward following Jesus wholeheartedly. Sadie explained much of her own personal experiences related to social media, faith, relationships, work etc. She went through different pressures we experience, pitfalls and offered advice and spiritual wisdom for navigating a world obsessed with likes, followers and perfection. It was relatable and honest for me personally, especially as somewhat of a bookish influencer online. This was packed with scriptures and practical tips for shifting focus away from worldly influences and toward God. Such a great reminder to stop looking to social media for validation and to instead find purpose and identity in Christ. Would recommend as a quick audiobook since she narrates it.

I really liked this book! It had such a good message and I really liked how there were verses included on almost every page. I loved how there were even a few leadership lessons included! I thought the questions at the end were great to follow up with. I loved this book and I’ll def be sharing it with my friends and family! 💜

Sadie's book, "Who Are You Following" is an easy read, but not "easy to read." You have to be willing to face things about yourself you may not realize or want to acknowledge. You have to keep an open mind.
The book is uplifting, as Sadie makes the first main point, " You are loved-God loves you-the you HE sees, not your perception of yourself. This book helps you realize, you can be the person God meant for you to be and Sadie puts things in perspective. And yes, it is simple, but does it take work, Yes!
The accompanying journal is a helpful tool filled with a place for in-depth thoughts as you grow in your faith, scriptures to meditate on, encouragement, and is filled with prayers.
If you read any non-fiction biblical-based book this year, make it this one! You will be glad you did. It has a much deeper meaning far above the social media aspect. Highly recommended. I couldn't put it down.

so so SO good. every chapter had so much more wisdom and it has definitely left me with new perspectives about WHY i'm on social media, why I post what I post, what I'm trying to seek at the end on the day. I've finished this book encouraged to actually make changes to my social media life and faith surrondings.

This is a must read (listen) for everyone. Not just to make you think about the time you spend on social media, but the people you follow, listen to, and watch, and how that impacts your life. It makes you think about how wisely you're spending your time.
The statistics at the beginning of this book are shocking, and definitely make you stop and think, especially as the parent of young children who will be entering the digital world.
Comparison is the thief of joy, but living in the fullness and acceptance of God's love gives you freedom from comparison.
"You weren't made to be a copy, because God doesn't make copies."
"It's a beautiful thing to be you, and not her. You can't live in the fullness of her."

I really loved this book and I feel like it is a must read for any teenage girl!
After finishing this book I feel really inspired to evaluate my life and who I let influence me, It has reminded me that we must all follow Jesus first and foremost, and that I should only follow people who push me toward Jesus and not away.
Sadie is an amazing author and I really want to read more of her books in the future!!

This was a really convicting read! Sadie really covered a broad spectrum of topics, from how to share the gospel on social media to what am I allowing to influence my life. 4.25 stars ⭐️

As a Believer in Jesus, He should be the one that influences us the most. In today’s crazy social media world it can be intimidating as you see other people's worlds on display for everyone to see. They always look perfect, have beautiful homes, wonderful meals, and in my case, their homeschool looks like it is flawless and has great scholars. Then I look and see that they have a lot of followers and likes! We and our children are drenched in the reality of social media. @legitsadierob @liveoriginal

This set would be a great asset to a youth group and as a parent to guide and direct your children into social media. When I saw this book on the shelf of a local store I knew I wanted to read it.
I'll just put it out there that any type of social media can be exhausting. One minute you pop on to check a photo or a recipe and the next you're comparing your lifestyle to someone else's or have wasted thirty minutes of your studying time. So when I saw a book by one of my favorite Christian authors on this subject I thought it was quite a God-Thing.
Sadie has something special (at least to me) where she can really grasp a subject, pull it out for you to examine, and then put it back into daily life. And it was no different in this book. She doesn't slam social media users or creators but instead shows us the biblical perspective of "likes", "follows", and all the lovely terms social media has recreated. She makes it a point to show us that social media probably won't go away and if it's affected us negatively how we can step back and reevaluate the choices we make on these platforms.
Honestly it was a FANTASTIC read as always. And one that I feel everyone should have the honor of reading. Even if you aren't active in social media it can show you things about the Bible from a perspective you might not have thought of before.
Sadie even provides some nice, thoughtful, creative questions and interactive advice at the end of the book :)
The only reason I felt I couldn't give a full 5 stars is because she kind of took a detour towards the end that wasn't my cup of tea (even though it did make sense at the end it kind of just chopped the book up for me a bit idk why)

I don't have any social media platforms, but this was still a convicting and much-needed read. Sadie explores how to go from being liked and seen, to being known and loved and how that gives freedom. Her writing is relatable and fresh, and she encourages being intentional every day about who we're following and being influenced by too. But above all, following Jesus with everything we have, no matter what the cost. I certainly enjoyed this challenging, truth-filled book!

"Notice something: Jesus was confident not only in where He was leading people but also in who He was. He wasn't wishy-washy, on this trend or the next. As a matter of fact, He wasn't on trend at all. He was not constantly changing His message to try to maintain His following either."
"The Father is love. It's not just that He is loving, which He is, but God's word tells us that He actaully is love. "Whoever does not love does not know God because God is love" (1 John 4:8). He is the essance of love."
"The Bible says something shocking in 1 John 4:18: "Perfect love casts out fear" (ESV). This blows me away becasue of the amount of fear I've expierienced in relationships. Yet here we read that it is actaully love that gets rid of fear. Unlike striving to be liked, perfect love is when you are fully known, and becasue it is God's love, it is never ending."

I absolutely LOVED this book! I learned so much about the impact that social media has on my life and the lives of others and how to make that a true and good and positive impact. It was also so good because Sadie talks about how you can apply the wisdom to your life moving forward; whereas other books I’ve read were impactful but I didn’t know how to go about making positive changes in my life. Yes, much of this book is geared towards women and especially college-aged ladies but I believe the wisdom it holds can be impactful to anyones life :) 10/10 recommend!!! 💛

Wow that was an amazing book, this book makes you forget you are reading and really makes you think about your relationship with the lord. It gives you tips on how to change your relationship with people and with the lord and give you tips on how to move on from you past and look to your present and future.

Even though this took me awhile to read since it’s non fiction, it was an amazing book. Very insightful, thought provoking, and challenging. I would definitely recommend this to teens and adults, as no matter what age, I think all could benefit from this

Like all of Sadie's books, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I just can't not read any of her books. They always leave me feeling edifyed and more competent in how to be a follower of Christ and spread God's light.
While I listened on audiobook in order to hear Sadie read the book, I will definitely be acquiring a kindle book to highlight all of my favorite parts, and there were many! Sadie's humility and vulnerability is so refreshing. In a world where so many are concerned with facades, Sadie is not. I enjoyed so many parts and don't want to spoil anything, but one of my favorite parts was when she talked about how toxic cancel culture is. Rather than trying to make everybody pay for every little mistake they make or pay for thinking differently than you and creating a echo chamber on monotony, I love how she advocates handling differences with grace and learning from people and growing when we all make mistakes. This is a thought I have had frequently. The gaslighting of cancel culture is having detrimental effects on our society and I love how Sadie handles this conversation. She has so many other great points and I basically listened to the book from start to finish, with very few interruptions.
Like her other books, I also love how Sadie isn't concerned with sounding prestigious or acquiring the high opinion of the world. She speaks simply so that her audience can understand her. Her words surely help teenagers but also adults in her writing. She doesn't try to put on airs of eloquence and subvert people from finding meaning. Her goal is to help people turn to and follow Christ and her writing makes it obvious that she tries to use plainess of speech to do this so she is a conduit for His love and her speech isn't a hindrance to spreading the message. Her writing is lovely, but again, I was just struck how simple and pure the message was and obtainable for every reader, which is a joy to find among today's complexities.
I definitley recommend this book and will definitely be coming back to it!!

This book may be my favorite that Sadie has written! Filled with logistics of how social media can impact your life in a good way and in a bad way, how we should be more concerned about following Jesus than getting followers and knowing the difference between being “liked” or “loved”, Sadie does a great job of showing how the ultimate goal is to live for Jesus. She shares stories that she has gone through in life and scripture relating to stories that made me rethink about them. This is definitely a book for this generation.

“In the Bible it is easy for us to see Jesus because we are looking for Him, but on social media it is a little harder. Maybe that is because when we look at social media we don’t really look for Jesus. Often we instead look at what Jesus is doing in everyone else’s life and not in our own.”
This is why we feel the need to cover up anything bad we have done, when in reality we don’t need to hide it; we need to repent and move on. If we cannot be real and repentant in the church, then where can we be? Don’t we all know that none of us are perfect and we all fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23)? Maybe we have forgotten that because of how perfect we all
portray ourselves to be on social media.
While you were a sinner, Jesus chose to die for you. It was proven at the cross, but it wasn’t finished at the cross. He then came back to life, breaking the power of sin and death over your life, and He now welcomes you into a new life and an eternal hope.

Upon reading, I will say that teens could definitely get a lot out of the message too. Sadie talks a lot about the effect social media has on us, and reminds us that who we "follow"- whether on social media or in real life- greatly impacts who we become. I didn't read this book from cover-to-cover all at once (I took a break in the middle of it to read something else), so I don't remember everything 100%, but I didn't feel like there was any gimmicky "follow these 5 steps and your life will be changed forever!" Instead it just reinforced basic concepts that most seasoned Christians know already but need a good reminder of- that we need to get in the Word of God and spend more time in prayer, and keep better track of the platforms that influence our lives. I love Sadie Robertson. She has been such a huge influence in my life and in my faith. I’ve read nearly everything she’s written, so I was excited to pick this up. I was worried it wouldn’t be for me because I am not an influencer. But, this book is for EVERYBODY. Whether you are on social media or not, this book is for you.
Sadie does such a great job explaining that whoever you are following- on social media or in real life- play a huge role in the person you are becoming, especially if those you follow have a huge influence on you. Social media isn’t a bad thing, looking to others isn’t a bad thing, but it is a bad thing if we let others and social media define us, lead us to places we don’t want to go, let them determine who we are going to be, and if they are distracting us from Truth.
Throughout this book, Sadie speaks to you like a friend, reminded you of the friend you have in Jesus. That He is the ultimate one you should be following and the ultimate one who should have any kind of influence on your life. There is no unfollow button when it comes to Jesus and He will lead you where you are meant to go.
I cannot recommend this book enough!!!
Sadie does such a great job explaining that whoever you are following- on social media or in real life- play a huge role in the person you are becoming, especially if those you follow have a huge influence on you. Social media isn’t a bad thing, looking to others isn’t a bad thing, but it is a bad thing if we let others and social media define us, lead us to places we don’t want to go, let them determine who we are going to be, and if they are distracting us from Truth.
Throughout this book, Sadie speaks to you like a friend, reminded you of the friend you have in Jesus. That He is the ultimate one you should be following and the ultimate one who should have any kind of influence on your life. There is no unfollow button when it comes to Jesus and He will lead you where you are meant to go.
I cannot recommend this book enough!!!

One neat aspect of this book is that regardless of your relationship with social media, you can get something out of the book. Even if you’ve never used social media in your life. The heart issues that commonly arise in the world of social media are not exclusive to it. There are many sins that manifest most obviously in the area of social media, but when we take a closer look like Sadie does here, we can see that these sins extend far beyond internet use and are rooted much deeper. I appreciated how Sadie examined this.
I didn’t fully agree with everything she had to say, given her somewhat progressive church background, but I did get a lot out of this book despite that. Her commitment to the Bible was encouraging.
A quick and worthwhile read, just to remind us to put social media in its proper place and keep God on the throne of our lives in general.

this book is SO RELEVANT to everyone nowadays. sadie did such an amazing job writing this book. she gave so many great points and stories and everything pointed back to the bible. i learned so much from this book and i am really moved by it. i will definitely be changing some of my habits after reading this. it digs deeper into God’s word and she really explains what God has instructed us to do. we have to be REAL. Read the bible (know God’s word). Encounter the author (talk to God through prayer everyday). attend church (get to know others and build relationships). Let others know (share the good news of the gospel & what God has done and is doing in your life). this book is so important and i recommend it to everyone.

I originally began reading this book to see if it would be something that I could recommend to a teen in my life, but quickly realized that I would also benefit from reading it. Sadie Robertson Huff has such a beautiful way of sharing what she has learned and experienced, with a lot of scripture interspersed throughout. She gives a lot of questions to ask yourself along the way and makes some great points. We are often so caught up in social media (especially worse for teenagers) and I think this book can help you step back and look at it differently.

I truly recommend everyone to read this book if you have social media or are considering social media (christian or not) for some of us we are growing up in a world where technology is a norm. wether we like it or not technology influences our life greatly. this book is like the refresh you needed to have for a healthier perspective on social media. it also reminds you of your worth in a world where so many find there worth through likes, appearance, followers, etc.

Her books are so eye-opening, encouraging, and I enjoy how she uses a time in her life that corresponds with the topic she is referring to. She definitely can make her readers feel loved while also receiving a feeling of reassurance and more.

Had too many notes highlighted in this book to share but appreciated the deep dive and introspective look into why I use social media, who I’m following and why!
Also was the first book I’ve read by Sadie Robertson, and I like the lightheartedness yet discerning way she tells personal stories to help teach lessons.
