I really enjoyed this book! Makes me want to read more church biographies and to trace God’s faithfulness in each along the way. I particularly loved that the events recounted in the book are about ordinary people. It’s a reminder that God works through all of us and that little things from 'ordinary' people can make a big impact down the road. Also I appreciated that the author made insightful observations and application points from a particularly Christian lens.
Two big takeaways that were reinforced for me: 1) dont forsake the power of prayer and trust God for answers even a century down the road and 2) churches are families that will last and grow when centered on God and His Word.
This book is a powerful historical biography of a impactful church in Washington DC. I would only hope that other churches could show the faithfulness of God through generations
