both stories were really really really stupid 👍 obviously i liked the first a lot more, freddie stroma’s notes are too cute. but i also liked the gratuitous gore and commitment to peacemaker’s bisexuality in the second story. do adrian next, that loser is NOT straight i promise

But I did enjoy having some mindless fun for a while. I really do like Vigilante from the Peacemaker tv show, so this was right up there for me. It would be nice to see the Original Adrian Chase/ Vigilante back in comics, or tv, but I have grown fond of the funny version of him. It was not the greatest comic, but it was fine for a fan like me.

Well dang now part of me wishes this was canon, especially the vigilante side of the story, but I totally get how a big storyline could interfere with the plans for S2 of the show. If you can’t tell based on the title this issue covers two different stories with different creative teams. I do have to admit, I loved the art style and story of the vigilante story more. It is so cool to see classic vigilante villains from the original run interacting with the James Gunn version, much different interactions this go around lol. But that’s not to say I don’t love the Eagly story, it’s a lot more light hearted and if it was canon it would still fit in nice in the DCU.

Alright first off, the vigilante side of things. The day starts out as normal…vigilant raids a close Axe throwing center where two mob bosses meet to discuss something he is still trying to figure out. With each of the bosses are two classic vigilante villains…Cannon and Saber. As expected, Cannon is the one with blades and saber with guns…an ironic point that Vigilante is quick to point out as he bashes their heads together. Unfortunately the entire raid is interrupted by the cops and the bosses are sent running. But with one man’s dying breath vigilante was able to get the word “conn.” Which acts as his only lead to what they were really doing there. After finishing up at work Vigilante did what he usually loves to do: went over to Peacemaker’s place…only to find that he was completely gone. Fortunately he was able to get Chris on the phone, only to find out that there are criminal elements at play with his disappearance and the word he heard earlier was really a clue leading to the criminal mastermind THE CONTROLLER and his evil robots. Not to worry Chris, vigilante is on the case!! But in reality there is no case…Christopher just forgot to tell Adrian that he was going on vacation with Eagly and didn’t want to make a fuss about it because he knows how Vigilante can be. I mean what’s the worse he can do? It’s not like he will break into a retirement home and start ripping people faces off, right? Oh no…

The second part of this story focuses us on the peacemaker/Eagly side! After a normal day of dealing with Nazi lizard dudes, with peacemaker doing most of the bashing, Christopher decided it was time for a vacation and off on an airplane to Alaska they went. After having his normal misogynist outbursts and conversations with people on the plane about Eagly, they were ready to settle in for the flight…but only seconds later and a mysterious gas flooded the cabin and a mysterious ninja wearing a gas mask stepped out, now with everyone asleep…it seems they now have what they want. Hmmmm…something tells me it’s not peacemaker and it may be the documentary filmmakers that called him out for his comments earlier in the flight. I’m interested to find out.

Pues sí. Es un comic derivado de la serie de TV. Digo... El Black Label de Peacemaker Tries Hard! también aludía a la serie. Pero más en lo referente a la estética, integrando al Chris Smith con la facha de John Cena a una historia totalmente inmersa en las posibilidades de DC Comics. Este Vigilante/Eagly Double Feature! ya cuenta con la presencia de James Gunn en el asesoramiento argumental. Y los artistas y autores van con todo con que sí que se sienta un "capítulo extra". ¿La historia? Pues sí que es lo de menos. Pero se concreta en un viaje para restaurar la brorelación entre Peacemaker y Eagly. Lo cual es a expensas de hacer que el aparente verdadero compañero de aventuras de Peacemaker, VIGILANTE, no sepa que ha sido ninguneado cuando iban a cortar de raíz (de forma sangrientamente literal) un concilio criminal en el pueblecito donde Chris y este adorable psicópata conviven. El gancho de que Vigilante es "informado" de un secuestro de su BRO, es motivante suficiente para estar al tanto de este comic. Aunque realmente no creo que funciona TAN bien como en Peacemaker Tries Hard! esta muestra de la super comedia cazurra.

I was under the impression that it would be a comic of Vigilante and Eagly side by side but oh well, their stories are fun regardless. I loved Vigilante/Adrian from the Peacemaker Show but here in the comic he was a little more weirder and odder than I liked him to be. Comics tend to have more creative freedom so I'm assuming they're showing parts of him that the big screen wouldn't approve of showing. Still love him though.

EDIT: I found out that king James Gunn said this comic isn't part of DCU continuity; thank goodness. with that being said, I like this comic a lot more now

This is a totally excellent comic, and some much needed Vig awesomeness. My 1 complaint would be the timing, surely this would be a much bigger seller if it was closer to when Peacemaker was released. Understandable if we're close to season 2, but *checks notes* HOLY FUCK, we are very close to season 2!! 4 months to go

Vigilante, eagly #1-2
No está mal, pero sin más, tampoco me ha descubierto un mundo nuevo.
Los protagonistas me gustan más en la serie, pero está gracioso que primero vaya una parte de vigilante y después una de peacemaker barra eagly a los que ha atacado la liga de asesinos.
