Whimsical, moving and always just a little bit off center, Winters' realistic works are populated by the same concepts and characters found in his stories. Now, more than 50 of them have been collected--with text by Winters and his daughter, Lucinda. 50 four-color illustrations.
Wonderful artwork ala Paul Klee, and I loved reading this as a companion piece of sorts to Winter's "Winters' Tales: Stories and Observations for the Unusual." Mr. Winters was immensely gifted in using simple (not simplistic) language and packing volumes into a single sentence - and I should've resisted reading his take on his paintings, because 'tis best to approach artwork with minimal preconceptions.
