John Benson is still up to his matchmaking ways! Edge is a SEAL who was let go because of some unfavorable action taken against another Marine. He is dark, lethal, hot-headed and loves the action he gets while fighting in cages. Emma is an ex-American citizen who is the Consort to General Trung in China. Emma has a few secrets as to why she did what she did, and will not let anyone get in her way… that is, until Edge walks into the ring and they lock eyes. Trung is not a very trusting person and it takes forever to get in his good graces. Once he sees someone else is interested in Emma, the games are on.
Lots of action, living on the edge (lol), risks, deception, violence, passion and thrills will keep you up late trying to get to the bottom of what is going on! This series just keeps getting better and better. I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book in this series!

A Navy ex-Seal action packed book. About the H who gets seduced into a off the books job (dark). This is good.

Steamy, provocative, alpha male in a SEALs “coat” gets his woman
I have loved this series. Ms. Winters has given our female MC two males fighting over her for different reasons during this group of books, but our military man always wins the day. Hooyah! Love Benson too who might just be a matchmaker of the broken-fairytale sort. The writing was exquisite, “It was like a whisper from her heart.” The meet-cute was comical. So visual: Edge has some frou-frou drink dribbling down his long straggly beard when Emma steps up to say something to get his attention. Can’t you just see that? And, if you want the male MC to adore-to-distraction his woman, read this series. Case in point: Extracting Emma. Lastly, chapter 8 was like listening in on a strategy meeting of warriors or tournament chess players. Fascinating!
Tom “Edge” Edgerton aka the Warrior Monk was booted out of the SEALs because he hit a commanding officer. He is hot-headed, irreverent and knows it, but he also knows how to prioritize what’s important. When he sees Emma across a crowded arena, something in him clicks into place. They share a very long stare and the next thing we know Benson shows up. Benson is in the woo-woo category in that he believes fate and other outside forces lead the lives we live. Benson tells Edge that he and Emma are already on their way to their destiny at the moment when Edge isn’t even sure he likes her. Afterall, she was the one who incited a to-the-death martial arts match for him after their extended stare!
Thrilling ending where Ms. Winters likes to close with a literal BANG. Lots of loose ends are tied up and we get a hint at the author’s next book about Fox and Fay, next in her alphabet steamy thrillers. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Booksprout. Pssst...love the cover too.

This is another alpha Seal, Edge who has been kicked out for going after a commanding officer. Edge finds himself overseas fighting in matches to earn money and one night he makes unexpected eye contact with Emma who is w or king her own agenda with her boss to find out a secret she’s never revealed to anyone. When their worlds collide a 2nd time things get turned upside down really quickly. I love that Benson finds himself involved in another situation where a Seal, woman and hard decisions to be made without causing a military situation. Edge does what he does best to keep Emma safe as he has feelings for her and has the need to protect her. Edge knows he needs to keep himself calm, in control and make good decisions to accomplish his goal, Emma! There are twist and turns you will not see coming and do they make this story one crazy love story where fate controls their ending! This story is another wild ride with Annabelle Winters. This time the theme is sex and violence in the center of the little universe around Edge, Emma, and the General. Jealously promotes the lust to possess. The characters are outsized in every aspect. Darkwater’s leader Benson is as wise and one step ahead as always. It is probably a general impression that the underworld of prostitutions and gangs spreads over Asia, dangerous and mysterious, dark and red. For people from that area, like me, it is just a myth. This story gives a feeling of balance in power and desires. Edge and General give in to the desires and turn themselves into victims of their own insanity. It is very entertaining.

Very good mix of adventure and romance

It's a very good mix between adventure, manipulation and romance between Edge, an ex-SEAL who will intervene to save Emma after a connection they had of few seconds, while she has an official mission of a Chinese gang who orders her to kill him. We quickly understand that the story will be more complex, that Emma is very mysterious about the reasons and the means that brought her to this time and this place, in a context of crime and prostitution, but that her mission is another one, even if she has to kill every person who would be on her way.

Okay, so I am sensing a theme here with this line of books by Annabelle Winters. I loved her insta-love series; however, this series has a bit more edge and danger to it. The foreboding begins at the very start of the book when you have the maniacal psychopath and the woman the hero is meant to claim, and their connections are palpable. With action, suspense, mystery, hot intense romance, and a HEA that will curl your toes, Extracting Emma is a fun entertaining book.

Emma tries to get Tom to stop, but he cannot. He gets deeper and deeper. There is so much going on intrigue and drama. There is also some steam and a great dynamic between the two. This is a page turner and I just could not put it down. Amazing series.

Edge has been kicked out of the seal's because of his fist fighting issues with higher ups. Emma has a secret agenda as is going through hell to see it through. This is one intense story.

I just really couldn't finish this. The plot is intriguing, but I just can't get into the details. I think is a case of "it's me, not you" with the book.

Beautifully Brutal
These two were made for each other. This was such a beautifully brutal and wonderfully raw love story- one that even Benson couldn’t imagine.

Well listening to this one with the virtual voice sucked almost cartoonish. And the sex scenes were on overkill. The book could have had a decent story line but it was more about sex and sperm.
