The Moore Men #1

Finn (The Moore Men, #1)

Rate this book
Falling for my girlfriend’s twin brother wasn’t what I had in mind when I hired him to be my son’s nanny.

Working on my family’s cattle ranch, the hours are long, and sometimes unpredictable, so when my regular nanny quits, leaving me in a pinch, I have to think fast.

In walks Ash Tudor.

My opposite in almost every way.

He’s cheerful and bubbly, has horrible taste in music, and does yoga in my yard almost every morning in the tightest shorts I’ve ever seen.

Not that I’m looking.

But it’s none of those things that have me scratching my head and second guessing everything I thought I knew about myself.

No… it’s the fact that he’s a him and I can’t seem to keep my eyes away, no matter how confusing that may be.

I’m nearly thirty, and never once have I looked at another man the way I catch myself looking at him.

The feelings and urges growing inside of me make no sense, and then when he gets a special delivery to the house of items he plans to use on himself, I can’t stop imagining him doing just that… Or imagining me using them on him.

But confusion and curiosity aside, I can’t fall into bed with my son’s nanny.

Doing so would be reckless and irresponsible.

No matter how tempting it may be.

• MM romance
• Bi-awakening
• Cowboy romance
• Opposites attract
• He washes his hair
• Daddy k*nk
• Grumpy/Sunshine

HOT HOT HOT!!! Finn and Ash are so spicy! From the delicious way they taunt and flirt to their incredible spice scenes together! I loved seeing these two fall for one another.

📚About the book:
Ash finds himself down on his luck, but when his twin sister suggests he come and work for her boyfriend, Ash jumps on the opportunity. He didn't think he would find himself back in his hometown of Wolf Creek, but the opportunity is too good to pass up. Even if it's working for a broody cowboy who really doesn't seem to want him around! Spending his days skipping rocks and doing arts and crafts with the broody cowboys adorable 4 year old is worth it. And the longer he works for Finn, the more he realizes that the glares he sends him might not be from annoyance but frustration. 🤭😉

🌶About the characters:
These two were absolutely adorable together. Finn with his grumpy, broody cowboy vibes and Ash with his flirty banter had me squealing so many times listening to these two! I couldn't get enough.

Toss in the fact that Finn was a single dad raising his son alone after his ex-wife walked out on them only added to the sweet side of Finn he kept hidden from so many. But the glimpses of Finn's sweet side that Ash and his son brought out of him will have you swooning for this grumpy man! Especially once he starts giving into the feelings he has for Ash! 👏

Ash was exactly what this grumpy cowboy needed. He was playful and so darn sweet with his son! I loved the relationship between Tucker and Ash!

“Maybe you can be my mommy.”

Ahhh!!! This was everything!

But as sweet as this book was, my gosh, he was SPICY!!! Heavy on the daddy k*nk (which I'm always here for)!! 👏👏 But when though Ash was clearly the softer of the two, I enjoyed watching a man like Finn lower his walls and worship Ash in every way! Not just in bed. This man cared for his in all ways. Defending him. Washing his hair. Making sure he knew just how loved he was.

I loved the openness you feel between these two! The understanding that they shared without even having to voice fears! Ashley did such an incredible job with developing the relationship between the two of them!

I've seen some mixed reviews on this book! And I'm so glad I didn't let them hold me back from starting it. YES. There is cheating. But... personally, I thought Ashley handled it so well. The taboo vibe is 100% there. But it only added to the angst we honestly needed in this book! I ate it all up!

And also, let's not forget the incredible band name Ashley drops during this book and the wonderful way she describes listening to Sleep Token!! “They will have you feeling happiness, sadness, anger, and even tears. Their music will thrust a hand into your chest and rip out your heart, all while you say thank you.” 👏

🎧Audiobook review🎧
Dual narration
Narrated by Gregory Salinas and Alex Kydd

I couldn't have been more excited for this audiobook, and these two definitely nailed their performances as Finn and Ash! Ashley casting these two was so well thought out.

Alex is my all-time favorite when it comes to a playful male character, and I never miss an opportunity to have him in my ears. His performance as Ash was so good! And the spice scenes... my gosh, Alex. You broke my poker face on chapter 17! That was 🥵 Here I am just making dinner, and then SUDDENLY. . .

"This little half-thought-out plan is clearly a thinking-with-my-d*ck type of situation, but I can’t help but want to. My body thrums with a salacious, electric energy, and it has since I called him out on being jealous in the kitchen. Finn may not understand it, but he wants me. And fuck, does that turn me on like no other. Screw it, I’m doing it."

I can't keep going... because censorship... but just know Chapter 17 is INSANELY hot. It will definitely break your poker face if you're listening in public. And there were quite a few other scenes that had me 🥵🥵

Gregory played Finn; his performance was perfect! From the banter with his brothers to the way he caved when he wanted Ash to the adorable way he parented Tucker. He's another one I can never get too much of, especially when it comes to MM scenes with him as the broody character. This man knows how to deliver spicy scenes and with Alex, this audiobook was just perfection!

I highly recommend it. It comes out March 6th. 👏

So this man is committing diet adultery with his twin sister's boyfriend and has the GALL to be offended when they leave him home to babysit (his job) while they go out on a date.

"Pathetic. The both of them. Maybe they're made for each other, after all."

💀💀💀💀💀💀💀My good man, you're the demon trying to tear them apart???? It's the audacity for me!

"Make sure you think about me when you fuck her."

😮😮😮😮That's your twin? Also, I thought they were pathetic? 😂😂😂😂😂

Then the self-flagellation after they fucked. 'Violet was nowhere on my mind when we did that'

Like......no shit, my dude. Be a lot weirder if she had been.

So. In summary. This man thirsted and plotted on his twin sister's man, got him, had him one or two times then basically said, 'Nah this makes me a bad person, I don't want to play with you anymore.'

💀💀💀💀Sickening.

I saw a post on the subreddit where someone said they're tired of penis-led bi-awakenings and they were so right because this is how we end up in such situations.

No feelings, no compatibility, no pining, just....my sister got to date everyone I liked in high school and that hurt so now it feels empowering that someone she wanted so badly wants me instead so lemme tell him what a bussy is(then SHOW him what a bussy is💀💀💀)

😂For real, though. I love cheating but this one kinda left a bad taste in my mouth because it's very much lust-fuelled so there's no happiness to root for.

Fucked your twin's man for a nut and a gotcha? Ash, you is a ho.

I want MCs to cheat because they're so overwhelmed by their own feelings for each other that nothing else matters 🙈

Not just....because it's something to do.

The feelings developing after was a given, and maybe I got past the reverse order because Finn and Violet really were not something serious, in spite of what she chose to tell herself. But I still would have preferred they fuck her over because of love for each other.

I badly wanted to love when the sister found out and gave them lashes for it—BUT by then she'd also done enough that I couldn't be sorry for her anymore.

So many ways she could have done it but she chose the biphobic asshole route. Fumbled a 5-0 headstart. How do you lose a confrontation you started with right on your side? Sigh.

Salty. Biphobic. Delusional. (And has no bussy, so.)

Losses across the board for Violet.

No one to root for in this book. Except Tucker. I hate kids in romance but he did it in the best possible way(by being off-page for most of it).

So, yeah. Thank you, 4 year old Tucker, for winning this by barely being in the book. You go, kiddo.

DNF @ 34%.

These men are cheaters.

Finn and Violet having a situationship isn't horrible, even coupled with the fact that Finn doesn't seem to want to be with her anymore. Sometimes, you just make due.

This thing with Ash while still stringing Violet along? ROTTEN.

This story would be OK if Finn had dumped Violet 10%-15% ago.

3.5 stars- I personally love this authors work, this one made me a bit uncomfortable with the daddy kink though lol. Some sweet moments, overall ok.
Some miscommunication which is a HUGE NO for me hence why the lower rating.
Cowboy romances are a big YESSS so thumbs up for that, and yes, I will continue reading this series

I really like Ashley's books yall!! I enjoyed this one with the grump x sunshine vibes WITH a single dad cowboy and a MANNY. I mean come on. What is there to not like? I appreciate the depth of Ashley's characters though. Finn is our main MMC. He carries the weight of responsibility on his shoulders. He is a single dad who works more than 40 hours a week. Then we have Ash who is moving back home because of losing his job. He is carefree. Much more easy going and looking for work. Which is how he ends up with Finn. See Finn is dating Ash's sister. But dating is a very loose term for what they are. I really enjoyed watching Finn and Ash's relationship evolve. From strangers navigating now living together. To catching the other looking at them longer than normal. From the longing you could sense. To exploring things together. The pacing was perfect! There wasn't necessarily angst but more of the when are they going to give into this tension. And when they gave in OMG was it hot. I liked how these two rounded each other out. I liked how much they supported each other and made the other realize what was important in life.

Finn doesn't know what he is going to do. His nanny is quitting and only giving him like a 2 day notice. But then his "girlfriend" lets him know that her brother Ash is moving back into town and looking for a job. He would be perfect. Finn doesn't know but says ok. Does he really have a choice? After agreeing to hire Ash, he doesn't expect for his son to have so much fun with him so fast. Or to get comfortable with having someone else in the house with them. Or with how he finds himself staring and touching Ash more than maybe he should be. Ash has him questioning all types of things. He is making him feels things he hasn't ever felt which is different for him. He decides to explore it after having a convo with Ash's sister. And so that's what they do. They explore it, and wow is it amazing. Finn finds himself being possessive in the best way. He wants more of Ash. More of what they are experiencing together. But Ash is hiding things from his sister. Things that come out at the wrong time and throw a wrench in this wonderful bubble they have been living in. Now Finn has to convince Ash how much he means to him. Because Finn has started thinking about the future more lately and the one constant besides his son is Ash.

Ash has hit rock bottom. Or at least that's how it feels. He is moving back to the small town where he never thought he would be again. He is interviewing to be the nanny for his sister's boyfriend. This is just all really tangled. But he is desperate. So when Finn says he is hired, he moves in and looks forward to his time with Tucker. He doesn't expect to feel as at home as he does. He doesn't expect to be as comfortable around Finn as he is. I mean now that they have cracked his grumpy facade. Ash is starting to like him. He sees how he is looking at him. He sees the questions in his eyes. But he can't make a move because of his sister. But then things progress anyways and Ash LOVES it. He loves the feeling that he has with Finn- the feeling of wonder since he is experiencing things he never has before. Ash finds himself wanting more. But he can't unless things get cleared up with his sister. Which happens and now they are in this bubble together. Like a little family. But his sister is more upset than he thought. She breaks family code. She hurts him. And now Ash doesn't know what to do. He is surprised at how well Finn takes care of him. Ash just has to decide if what they have together is worth it.

This was a great bi awakening- I don't think I have read one yet. I enjoyed the setting along with the characters. I found myself wondering who the other men in this series will be. I am calling Finn's brother and his friend- I see yall over there. I just appreciated how these characters were both lost in a sense and how they found themselves with each other. I definitely recommend this one for some hot cowboy time!

Thank you to the Author Agency and Ashley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

this is what reading this book felt like. it was so bad I wish I could give it a zero but I can’t… so here’s a one.

ANYONE ANYONE recommending this book as a great book needs to serve time in jail. I HAVE SO MANY THINGS I COULD SAY. I don’t usually tear into books (almost never) but I started this book on march 8. Such a silly trope I thought i was in for a good time then BAM cheating trope. Don’t come and excuse NOTHING TO ME. And mind you, I have known to maybe give the benefit of the doubt but as the book went on I couldn’t get past it. FINN AND ASH ARE VILLAINS. OH MY GODDD VILLAINS. Entitled whiny ass VILLAINS.

And don’t even get me started on the sex, kinks and just overall relationship. I am not a what you do in bed judge and I am NOT kink a shamer but if I had to read the word “DADDY” one more time coming out of Ash’s mouth I swear I would’ve genuinely exploded. Every inch of that 13% of this book that I had left to read felt torturous and the only reason why I didn’t DNF it’s because out of pure hate I had made it that far it would’ve been dumb to.

Here are some of the most outrageous lines because I can’t simply leave without proof of the absolute villainous behaviors. Like I don’t give a fuck if it was “not serious” and if omg Finn didn’t really know that Violet was more invested than him (yeah right I know a gaslighter when I read one!) even then if we could’ve forgiven just how absolutely horrendous they were, as you kept reading it just got worse and worse and worse.

““So bad, daddy,” I purr. “Please fuck me. Stretch me with your fat cock, make me cry out for you, then fill me up with your cum.” Lips curling into a smirk as arousal rips down my spine, I add, “Breed me, daddy.””

I realize Violet has every right to be upset and deal with this however she has to, but I also think she’d be incredibly selfish to not get over it for her brother’s sake.

I respect what little history you have with Finn, but I wish for a second, you’d set your pride to the side and admit what you two shared wasn’t deep. It was surface level, at best. I saw it the minute I watched you two together when I got into town.” HES QUITE LITERALLY A VILLLLAAAAAIN. we get Ash feeling supposedly “sorry” and guilty but HUH??? Like how do you say you respect the history they had WHILE FUCKING HIM!!! HER BOYFRIEND!!

And as if that wasn’t bad enough, the word thick, fat, big and all its synonyms being in EVERY SINGLE SEX SCENE is the cherry in top but oh! oh! this was my breaking point:

“It’s fucking sexy, and your foreskin looks so thick and juicy.” I bite back a smile when I see the pink from his cheeks travel down his neck. “Wanna taste it,” I add hoarsely.

are we at a chicken joint??????

Fin. Cheaters. And annoying dudes. I wasn’t even into the romance but they were sure made for each other. ITS HIS FUCKING TWWWWWIIINNN SISTERRRR OH MY GODDDD. Just. God. Ash was insufferable and Finn an asshole. They were villains.

I mostly enjoyed this. I loved all of the relationship stuff. All of the things with Tucker. It was really cute to watch Finn and Ash get to know each other.

I loved that Finn just went with what he was feeling and didn't freak out. I loved that he stood up for Ash. I loved that Finn's family was so cool and supportive.

I was surprised by the number of typos I came across. I feel like Ashley's books don't usually have so many.

Violet was quite irritating throughout the book until the end where it almost seemed like she was a different person.

One last thing that kind of threw me a little bit was that Tucker seemed quite advanced for all the stuff he was doing and saying for being 4 years old. My kids are almost 8 so maybe I just don't remember that well, which is very likely.

You’ve been forewarned—this is going to be a long one!

Let’s start with what I liked—the narrators. That’s it. That is all. Alex Kydd and Gregory Salinas did a great job of trying to bring to life a very poorly written book.

Ashley James yet again shows us she relies on the ignorance of her readers to squeeeeze by in writing something she has no business writing about—ranching. That being said, she slapped the ranching aspect on it and called it good, while only really giving GLIMPSES of the actual ranching in this book. Typical AJ—marketing something a certain way to draw people in and get people to read it, and then not fully committing to it because she doesn’t actually want to do the research to write it accurately. She thought she really did something with the ranching aspect, but I’m sorry, anyone that can navigate Google will find that ranchers don’t have a “tagging day” for calves—calves are tagged within hours of birth, almost immediately after they’re up on their hooves, out in the pasture, not rounded up to do it. I think what she meant here was “branding day” which are two VERY different things, but just goes to show how lazy she really is when it comes to melding fiction and real facts together.

Ashley wants readers to pick up her books solely based on trope bullet points but is unable to actually deliver, doing the bare minimum possible to force the trope to fit. That leads us to the “daddy kink” that is listed in her tropes. If you’re reading this book for that aspect alone you will be sorely let down—“daddy” is repetitively used here as a cringey nickname and that’s it. The daddy kink dynamic is nowhere to be found. She also forgot to list a major trope, so if you don’t like cheating, do not read this book…but I’m guessing that was intentional because many readers are very vocal about NOT liking the cheating trope and she knows that.

We all know that writing to market is a real thing that sells books. The problem comes when you are forcing characters who have exhibited no inclination to do those things into doing them. It feels dishonest and like a flat out gimmick. There is such a thing as trying too hard and this book felt like smashing a square peg into a round hole. This book is basically a copy and paste of Burning the Midnight Oil with a handful of differences, much more cringey, and much more poorly written.

The dirty talk is atrocious at best. The fact that this line is actually IN the book tells you all you need to know: “Your foreskin looks so thick and juicy.” Uhm, what?! No thanks.

There are a lot of things that are rushed in this book, the bi-awakening is one; the reconciling of Ash and his sister is another. The relationship between Ash and Violet is so inconsistently written it’s unreal. There’s no way I’m forgiving my sibling as quickly as they did after the awful things that were said between them. The animosity between them is there one second then gone the next and that repeats through the entire book. If you’re looking for a heartfelt bi-awakening you will not find it here. One minute Finn is jerking off alongside Ash and the next he’s perfectly okay with being with a man—Ashley continues to show she has zero desire to flesh things out and actually SHOW us her characters going through difficult and emotional situations.

This book was a reach at best and fetishy at its worst. You will not convince me that she did not write herself into this book as Ash🥴.

This book is honestly an insulting portrayal of a profession that is part of the backbone of this country. I’m sure the queer community in ranching has it hard enough without someone spitting on it with such an ill researched shitty representation being put out there with the blanket free pass of being fictional and using “creative liberties”. Do better for ranchers. Do better for queer communities. And for fucks sake, learn how to use Google.

Definitely a book that gave me mixed feelings.

The whole Daddy thing between Finn and Ash kinda icked me out because it would go from a scene where his son was calling him daddy, to a sex scene where Ash was calling him Daddy... My brain just wasn't a fan of it! I think this might be the first book I've read that has this dynamic and situation in, and I just found it a bit off? Saying that, I do normally prefer a Daddy/Brat combo whereas this was just during sex and not a lifestyle, but yeah it just didn't work for me.

The sister really annoyed me too, but then why was Finn referring to her as his girlfriend if they were just casual and only met up once a week for a few months? That didn't really make sense to me, but also Violet was so clueless and couldn't comprehend that Finn was basically just wanting sex not a relationship. Whole thing was super weird and felt like drama for the sake of it and an additional conflict on top of the boss/employee situation - we also never get clarification on what Ash's role becomes. Is he still the nanny or is he the second parent?

I did love Ash's relationship with Tuck though. It was so cute and honestly made me wish I lived somewhere like the ranch with all that outdoor space. I was confused about Tuck calling Ash 'Mommy Ash' though, like why are we reinforcing that you have to have a mum and a dad? Tuck understood that Ash was his dad's boyfriend and there was the conversation about some families having same sex parents, so it was more weird than cute to me that he'd then call Ash Mommy?!

I'm hoping I'll enjoy Hollis's story more!

WHERE ARE THE TRIGGER WARNINGS?
This is f*cking cheaters story not a love story.
A heads up before starting the book would have been very much appreciated!!!
I’m SO pissed ! 😠

And don’t get me started with the blurb implying it. Finn could have broken up with Violet at the beginning of the book !

Trigger warnings are here for this kind of BS ! 😤

Cowboy romance might just be my favorite subgenre—and when you add a single dad trope, you have the makings of some of my all-time favorite love stories. While Finn doesn’t quite reach those heights, I loved getting lost in this world. Ashley James knows MM cowboy romance better than anyone, and it shows.

The characters are incredibly lovable, especially the dynamic between Ash, Finn, and Tucker—it hit me in the feels hard. Watching Finn and Ash’s romance unfold was wonderful, even if it was built on a foundation of cheating. I struggled with that aspect, and even more so with how the fallout was handled, but aside from that (and one particularly unrealistic spicy scene), I have very few complaints.

If you’re a fan of Elsie Silver or Bailey Hannah, Ashley James offers a fantastic MM alternative with this novel and her Copper Lake series. Highly recommend.

Just when I thought I was over the Cooper Lake series, Ashley delivers another knockout with the Moore Men series. These cowboys will absolutely capture your heart if you're a fan of Ashley's small-town cowboy romances.

"Finn," the first book, introduces us to Finn Moore, the eldest sibling and a single dad to adorable Tucker. Finn, a man who thrives on preparation, is blindsided when his son's nanny abruptly resigns. Enter Ash, the twin brother of Finn's ex-girlfriend, Violet. Recently laid off, Ash returns to Wolf Creek and takes on the "manny" role.

The chemistry between Finn and Ash is undeniable from their first encounter. Despite his initial reservations about Ash's presence around Tucker, Finn can't deny Ash's natural connection with his son and decides to let go of his anxieties. Ash's relationship with Violet is complex, but their sibling bond remains strong. However, Ash's growing attraction to Finn is complicated by guilt towards Violet and the fear of her reaction. Finn, meanwhile, battles his own confusing sexual desires for Ash, culminating in a scorching bedroom scene that obliterates any lingering doubts. That scene? Absolutely explosive.

Finn and Ash's intimacy is both intense and tender. Their connection is palpable. Ash's bond with Tucker is utterly heartwarming, a highlight of the story. While their romance encounters some drama, Finn's unwavering support for Ash and his feelings is commendable. Ash's confrontation with Violet is a beautifully written, pivotal moment. Their happily ever after is perfectly sweet, surrounded by supportive loved ones, and Tucker's joy is infectious.

In short, I'm completely hooked on the Moore Men series. If you crave compelling small-town cowboy romances, this series is a must-read.

If you're missing the Copper Lake series (sob, it ended!!) then I beg you to pick this up.

It's an emotional rollercoaster that I won't forget for a very long time and I'm already counting down the days for book 2 of the series to come my way.

Finn was everything I wanted from a MC and his chemistry with Ash was there from day one. Absolutely loved this.

I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review

I got as far as about the first third, when some serious ‘daddy vibes’ developed, sending me running for the hills. That’s simply not my cup of tea.

This was the best Ashley James book I’ve read so far. It was very hot too without being over the top. The sex scenes were spaced out enough for me and didn’t feel forced for the sake of being a “sexy “book”.

Finn was the perfect grumpy cowboy and Ash was so good with his son, Tucker. Ash was a strong character who stood his own with the “manly” cowboys. Finn’s family was really great though and both his brother Hollis and his dad Gentry will have stories! Gentry was checking out Hollis’ friend Remi so I can’t wait for that!

I wasn’t crazy about how, once again, a female is portrayed as spoiled and over dramatic. Ash’s twin sister Violet was the complication between Finn and Ash because she’s dating Finn. She believes this is a deeper relationship because Finn didn’t communicate with her. It wasn’t her fault and I could understand why she was upset when she found out Finn and Ash were together. She didn’t have to be portrayed as a villain in any way. I wish authors could have women not looking crazy in m/m books. Violet was put in a crappy position and then she acted in a way she shouldn’t but it doesn’t have to be that way. Write better female characters authors!

I did think Tucker, Finn’s 4 year old son, acted way older. I don’t think any 4 year old would be this intuitive and I’ve raised 3 children and been around many more. This kid was too perfect. He didn’t annoy me though and the mommy Ash part was so adorable.

I still can’t decide how I felt about Ash calling Finn daddy! lol It was fine because they didn’t go overboard with it but I could see that being a problem for some.

One issue I have with this author is she uses the phrase “bites down on my molars” all the time, in every book I’ve read of hers. It’s just overused and I’ve never heard it worded that way before. Usually it’s clenched my jaw or bit down or even grinded my teeth. That may only be a me problem but I notice it! It doesn’t take away from the story though.

This was a good story and I like this world so far. Hollis promises to be a fun character and I am looking forward to his book next.

🌶️🌶️🌶️.5

Finn is one of my favorite new MM romances. It delivers everything I want and actually had some emotional moments that moved me, too.

Finn is a single dad, working cowboy, and he is put in a difficult spot when his nanny quits without any real notice. His girlfriend offers up her twin brother Ash, who just lost his job. Ash is excited for the opportunity and ends up being the perfect Manny for his son. He is very attracted to Finn and can't help flirting with him. Finn is surprised by his own attraction because he has never been into men, but he really falls for Ash's sexy, flirty, and sweet self. Finn's bi-awakening was so amazing, and I loved how accepting his family was.

There were so many hot and steamy scenes in this book. It was fire!!! I loved the scene where Ash tries out his sex toys and is not quiet about it to tempt Finn, so classic. This boy was such a tease and loved calling Finn "Daddy."

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧

This audiobook was dual narrated by Alex Kydd and Gregory Salinas. They did an amazing job showing the chemistry and delivered some super spicy scenes. Alex Kydd really showed Ash's flirty and teasing side. Gregory delivered the perfect broody, grumpy cowboy vibes. I would highly recommend the audio.

4.5/5 stars 4/5 spice

I adored this couple! In the beginning I was a little iffy about Finn but once he could communicate with Ash and was ready to explore this spark between them, he was the biggest teddy bear. I loved his possessive ‘mine’ talk and his obsession with smelling Ash, it was so primal.

Ash’s sass always made me smile and his bond with Finn’s son, Tucker, was absolutely adorable. When he started calling him mommy Ash it was the sweetest thing. You could feel Ash’s emotion when Finn chose him and declared it because that’s all he’s ever wanted after always coming in second to his sister.

I’d usually find myself hating it when characters called their lovers daddy but it really worked with this couple, it was super hot that they were really into it. The spice was amazing in this and the chemistry that they had.

I’m looking forward to reading more of this series because the Moore men really are something else. I urge you to read this if you love a forbidden MM romance with a single grumpy daddy and his nanny.

This book was absolutely fantastic! Ashley really knows how to write MM cowboys! Add in a sexy single dad and I AM SOLD!!

🤎MM romance
🤎Small town romance
🤎Single dad x nanny
🤎Bi-sexual awakening
🤎Twin sister's ex-boyfriend

Finn is the kind of guy that has two focuses - his son and his work. He doesn't have time for anything else and quite frankly, doesn't want anything more.

So when Ash, his casual girlfriend's brother, comes to be Finn's live in nanny, he doesn't expect to really FEEL things for someone. Especially a man, as Finn has identified as straight his whole life.

But Ash gets under Daddy Finn's skin, in the absolute best way. The TENSION - oh my god THE TENSION ASHLEY!! The build up for these two was absolutely fabulous. I devoured this book and couldn't put it down. And when they finally took the next steps - woah - I was sweating! And drooling! And swooning!

I love how Finn fell for Ash and fell hard. He never questioned anything, even the fact that he is a man. It was just so beautiful.

Also, Tucker and Mommy Ash's relationship was just so darn cute!!

I had so many plans for today. I just wanted to read one chapter and then get on with my day. Oh well. Finished this book literally in one sitting. And I loved it. Yes it’s all wrong. There’s sort of cheating (maybe? Depends on your definition). Only bad women it seems. There’s a horrible sister. A bit of homophobia. Of course a mother leaving a child behind without looking back (I’ve read this so many times now in mm romance novels, I wonder if it’s a trend in real life too…)
All that, and I still loved it. Finn is so sweet to Ash. And yes, Ash is unreasonably jealous. And very emotional. But also the cutest. And the kid and grandfather are lovely too. “Mommy Ash” 😍😍😍 Can’t imagine a kid coming up with that in real life. So sweet though!

I’m very much looking forward to the next book in this series. And will definitely reread this book pretty soon.

Finn is book one in The Moore Men series. This MM romance story is about Finn and Ash.

Finn is a rancher and a single dad of four year old Tucker. He is in need of a new nanny and hires his girlfriend Violet’s twin brother Ash for the job. Finn is grumpy and closed off, but he has a tender and protective side when it comes to his son. After Ash moves in with Finn and Tucker and starts his job, it was so sweet to see his relationship with Tucker and how quickly they bonded. It doesn’t go as smoothly at first for Ash and Finn, but eventually Finn starts opening up to Ash and things start to change between them.

Finn has considered himself straight, so he was confused when he found himself drawn to Ash. Ash is gay and definitely finds Finn attractive, but he tries to resist because of Finn’s relationship with Violet. Finn has only been dating Violet for a couple months, but he thought it was casual and didn’t see it going anywhere. I don’t want to give away too much, but I will say I did struggle with Violet’s character and her role in this story.

It was great to see Finn and Ash finally give into their attraction and feelings. They were so incredibly hot together. Not only did I enjoy the spice, but I loved how Ash and Finn could be vulnerable with each other.

Finn’s family was great and so supportive. I especially liked Finn’s relationship with his brother Hollis. Their banter had me laughing and smiling, and I definitely look forward to getting more of Hollis. This was a great start to this new series.

I received an advanced copy of this book, and this is my honest review.

5+ ⭐️ Re-read July 2025: Listen to this on audiobook if you haven't yet - it was SO good! This story is still one of my favorites, and it was such a great one to experience on audiobook as well - Alex Kydd especially is one of my new favorite narrators.

Original review: This might be my favorite Ashley James book to date - I had such a fun and entertaining time! We meet Finn that finds himself suddenly without a nanny, and as a single-dad rancher, the situation is not ideal. But when his casual hookup mention that her brother is coming into town, a situation of lust, jealousy, and love blossoms, Finn and Ash can't seem to stay away from each other.

- I need Finn Moore viscerally. Carnally. Religiously. I need him to turn me inside out.

I had such a good time with this book, and I'm so excited for Ashley James new series - if this is only the beginning of it, I can't wait to see what is to come! I felt as both Finn and Ash were very believable characters, and the side characters as well had a lot of depth and felt important to the story. This might also be the smuttiest of all the Ashley James books I've read so far, and I devoured every page of it! But overall, this was an amazing love story that I can't wait to read again, and if you love forbidden romance, opposite attracts, small town romance, ranchers and cowboys, this is a must read for you!

I would also like to thank the author for providing me with an arc for their story! <3
