Not my cuppa. I don't care that he turned on his turn signal, which highway they are taking etc. Too much filler detail for me."

Khloe seemed bratty. That would be so painful to see your father doing everything for your younger sibling when he was not even around for your childhood and did none of that for you. No wonder Kaley is screwed up and has trust issues.

Quotes:
“You have no idea how much I’ve missed that.” He kicks closed the bedroom door behind us. “We can talk as much or as little as you want, later. I’ll tell you anything, everything you want to know. But I am not going to bed one more time without you.”

“I love you. I may have made a mess of us, but I have never not loved you.”
My dress is gone and Bobby sweeps me up into his arms. “I’ve always loved you and I’m going to love you the rest of my life. That’s what I figured out in two years without you.”
“Me too,” I whisper, kissing his neck and feeling myself being lowered onto the bed. “Make love to me. I can’t wait another moment.”

Everything is set up. Why didn’t you come to my room, Daddy?” He drops a kiss on her nose.
“Kaley stopped in for a visit. Aren’t you going to say hello to your sister?” Khloe turns to me. “Hello.” She exhales impatiently. “Now can we go play Barbie’s?”
I bite my lower lip. That one I’ll never get used to. My dad playing Barbie’s on the floor of Khloe’s bedroom. I wonder if we’d be this close if my dad had been around to play Barbie’s with me. To my shock, I realize I’m crying.

Tell me what’s wrong. We’ll think it through together.”
For some reason instead of answering, I turn into my father’s chest, burying my face against him. His arms hold me in a protective cocoon, and it feels so good to be held by my father. The tears come even stronger.
“Shush, Kaley. Whatever it is, it will be OK.” He starts to rock me gently. We sit like this quietly in the silence of the yard. The rocking slows. The tears slow. I see the ocean beyond me and start to quiet inside. I look up at him. “Do you want to talk about it?” he asks.
“No, Pop. Sometimes a girl just needs to hug her father.”
He drops a kiss on my black curls. As he pulls back, a wisp of his long hair mingles with mine and clings, the color so exact I can’t really tell which hair is mine and which hair is his. We are so alike. I look at our hands. Our nails are the exact same shape and shade. He is my father. I love him. The past is the past. Bobby is right. I need to forgive unconditionally and let it go for all our sakes. I don’t understand why he wasn’t here for me in my childhood, but I do know that I love him and my father loves me...

This copy was given to me as a gift by the author. Thank you!

Another good one from Susan Ward! This was a short and cute read. Perfect for a relaxing summer day. I loved the heroine. She was spunky, sweet, and hilarious.

"Thirty-seven-dollars, twenty-eight cents, the barista announces."
"Really? I only ordered sex drinks. I'm not buying Starbucks."
The girl doesn't laugh. OK, so this isn't one of my wittier and funnier moments....

I instantly fell in love with the hero, Bobby. He was so gentle and sweet. I felt sorry for him. It was obvious how much he loves Kaley. When they dated two years ago, she broke up with him because he wasn't doing anything meaningful with his life. He comes back to her years later and is proud to show her he saves dogs from illegal dog fighting. Total sweetheart!!

"You have no idea how much I missed you." He kicks closed the bedroom door behind us. "We can talk as much or as little as you want, later. I'll tell you anything, everything you want to know. But I am not going to bed one more time without you."

^ So sweet! I loved them together and was happy they got their happy ever after. And I knew all along who love-struck trainer was. So romantic! I can't wait for their prequel!!

4.5 stars!

What a lovely little novella!

I grabbed this one on a whim (it was a freebie) and then when I was trying to rearrange my Kindle carousel, I accidentally opened this book. Didn’t plan to start it yet (currently reading so many books. Seriously. So many books) but I decided to check out the first page since it was already open…and then suddenly it was an hour later.

This was a really enjoyably story. The characters were relatable and multi-faceted, the hero (NOT a jerkhole) was totally great and I really, really liked him a lot. It felt so different from what I typically read in this genre. Everybody actually had life stuff going on. There were snippets of fun/sweet/cute banter. I was just very happy with it. A really good read. I will definitely be checking out more from this author (particularly if Amazon stops being a tool and lets me download samples, so I can decide which book I want to read next)!

Rewind By Susan Ward is a delightfully romantic novella. I chose this as my first read of this author, mainly because my time was short and;being a novella,it is a short story. So I thought I could pick it up and put it down in between various other things. How wrong was I? Rewind sucked me in and I've done nothing else this morning, except read it! Rewind tells the story of a lost love between Bobby and Kaley, and how Kaley feels two years down the line, after a stupid mistake led to their break up. I'm not giving any spoilers, it's a novella and one you should definitely one click. Cleverly and creatively written, Kaley and Bobby's feelings leap off the pages of this wonderfully romantic story. (If any man read this novella they would get insight into the mind of a woman as she multi-tasks at the beginning of the book!!) I loved it and related to her thoughts completely. I've fallen in love with the author's writing style, and she is able to pull in extenuating factors, which made this piece a deeper read than i was expecting. This story is in fact linked to, a novel by the same author, 'Girl On A Half Shell,*GOAHS' Alan and Chrissie from GOAHS are Kaley's parents,) which is the story of her father. Girl in Space is the second and will be released early in 2015. Beautful piece, Susan Ward, I'm hooked and I can't wait read the story that inspired this one! As it only took me a couple of hours to read, I'd recommend this as great beach read.

I have found another wonderful book to read. It is called “Rewind: A New Adult Novella” by Susan Ward. The book starts off with her describing how Kaley, the heroine, lost the perfect guy, Bobby Rowan. Two years later and she still dwells on it. She starts a blog with a quirky name for guys. Kaley also has a great career. Despite it all, she never stops missing her one true love. Along the way in this story, you learn that she has some issues with her dad that need to be resolved. Then enters Bobby. Kaley describes him and you know she is exhilarated.

“I decide to wait, play it cool, and just drink in the details of him.”

What an unforgettable line. As they continue to talk, she notices a positive change in Bobby. Although, she doesn’t want to seem alarmed with anticipation, her feelings are very apparent.

“The feel of him runs through my body with remembered sweetness.”

Very apparent feelings. The lines and the authors voice are very strong throughout the book. Bobby’s response displays a perfect depiction to Kaley’s trust issues. This relationship has ups and downs, which gives it the realistic feel that many of us readers long for in a story.

If you are looking for a short yet sweet story to delve into, pick this one up today.

I really liked this Novella, but that’s not surprising. I like everything I read from this author! This one has a little different vibe from her first two releases, but it is just as good. It’s a sweet, feel-good read and perfect for a relaxing afternoon on the beach. The characters are very likeable, and it’s obvious they both have regrets from their botched relationship. It’s easy to relate to them, and I found myself rooting for them both. Luckily, they’ve matured and have a second chance at love. And, how sweet is Bobby Rowan? I may just have a new book boyfriend.

Oh, and the author gives a surprising little peak into the lives of a couple of her characters from another series. Now, I’m dying for the next book!

I've been reading about Kaley Stanton's parents and grandfather in Susan Ward's other books, so by picking up this novella I have seriously spoiled what is going to happen to all these people. But what the heck - sometimes you just have to sneak a look at the last page, right? In this story Kaley gets her HEA after what appears to have been a rocky time for her growing up and having lost the love of her life, Bobby, two years earlier. Bobby hasn't been far away, though, and turns out to be a perfect hero quite literally with his foundation that rescues dogs. The twist at the end was easy to see but I still enjoyed this short, sweet romance.

A fun little novella by Susan Ward

This was a fun, quick read! It's very fast paced complete with a happy ending. Though there wasn't a lot of development, enough is laid out to give you a strong sense of the characters and emotions.

If you're a fan of Susan Ward, don't pass this up! We get a glimpse of the future involving a few of my favorite characters from another series for which I am grateful. :)

This was 3.5 stars, a quick beach read. There is some history that I was missing at the beginning of the book, especially as I didn't think the story matched the blurb, but I eventually caught up. Kaley is an interesting character who needed to grow up (and finally did) and Bobby is just a nice guy in love with her. Nice read.

I thought about not completing the book several times throughout reading it. The main character is a lot like a dramatic teenager who's not a teenager...very annoying.

3.5 stars. There was a bit of history in this book between the main characters that I wish I could have experienced in this book. This novella was very short but the surprisingly the story was very well developed. I loved the relationship between Bobby and Kaley and hope to read more from this author.

Brought into the future with this one...after reading the first book in the Half shell series. Now I have to go back and read the second book...although this one tells me there was much more heartbreak before good things happened for the main characters.

This story brought two together to settle their own past...

This book takes place after Kaley is in her mid-twenties and not as angry anymore. The scene where her and Alan have a father-daughter bonding moment was so sweet, it brought tears to my eyes. It was nice to see that Chrissie and Alan were still together and going strong. Can see that Kaley can be just as stubborn as her parents as far as relationships are concerned.

A typical love story and one of the reasons I generally choose not to read them, unless there is something else going on...like a murder mystery.if you love romances, no doubt you will love it.
