This book was a timely one for me as I was stuck in a day job that had become a prison. I could totally relate to the Shawshank metaphor as I knew I required the right tools to dig my way out. This book was one of my best tools. The steps were laid out in a clear and easy-to-understand format readily applicable to my industry of choice. Even after I left my day job; there are tips and guidelines that still help me to execute my plans as I lay the foundation for a successful business.
If you're no longer satisfied with being in a job that you loathe, get this book and let it be your manual to transition into your dream job or business.
Unlike a lot of books out there that make outlandish claims; this is the real deal as it makes you realise that creating your dream life takes hard work and perseverance. This is a book for action-takers.

This is one of the best written business books I have read. It contains a step-by-step plan to get the reader to their dream job. The reader can feel the passion and encouragement of the writer as the lessons are shared and action steps are laid out. This book will remain a part of my library and be used as a reference until my dream job is attained. I recommend this book to anyone who wants their dream job.

It was good with its simplicity and practicality. Lots of good nuggets and a framework for making dreams a reality. Although there were aspects I fundamentally disagree with in its acceptance of the "what works" it nevertheless is a good book with tools that can be added to working out what needs to be done. There are other more detailed, resourceful, and comprehensive books and guides out there. It's like this book is just an appetizer and you have to buy the entree elsewhere. (Self fulfilling the plan laid out in the book)...

Again, it wasn't bad by any means and I did get several good points from it. Just a bit reductionist at times which is cloaked in the name of simplicity. I guess my definition of simplicity is different than the authors and resides more in what can be than the way things are.

This book is useful for those who felt enslaved in your current job or workplace, and hope to a dream job. To overcome the job dissatisfaction, one has to embrace the nine-step plan: 1) Design your story; 2) Design your space; 3) Design your service; 4) Create your platform; 5) Create your product; 6) Create your promotion; 7) Maintain your community; 8) Maintain your clarity; and 9) Maintain your credibility. Overall, I feel we have our choices and we choose to do what we want. Either we continue to work like a buzzing bee or work with a sense of fulfilment. We should not be prisoners at work or be enslaved by work. We should learn to move out of the norm and develop our own capabilities and have our own dream job.

Although it took me longer to complete than I wanted... the book is an amazing read! Kary puts a lot of thought into his explanations and making sure to not just give you the steps, but also examples that you will need in order to obtain your Dream Job realistically. Anybody who has ideas but does not know how to achieve them... I recommend you read this book and it will help you better understand what you need to do and where your holes are before you leave your day job.
