What truly stands out in "Usi Lamhe Ki Khatir" is the profound emphasis on values like faith in life and integrity in conduct. Each poem encourages deep reflection, prompting you to look inward and consider your own moral compass and approach to existence.

The author’s personal experiences, both challenging and treasured, serve as powerful conduits for these universal lessons. It's not preachy, but rather an invitation to contemplate the wisdom gleaned from a life lived with intentionality and self-awareness.

This collection serves as a guiding light, reminding us of the importance of living authentically and with purpose. It’s a rewarding read for anyone seeking not just beautiful verses, but also meaningful insights for personal growth and ethical living.

As someone who reads a lot of poetry, I found this collection refreshing. Swadesh Yadav Ji blends discipline and emotion so seamlessly.

The ghazals respect traditional form while also feeling accessible. There’s no pretension, no unnecessary complexity, just pure expression. It’s rare to find a poet who can maintain craft while also sounding so unfiltered and heartfelt.

For me, this book is proof that classical forms are alive and evolving.

I’ll be honest, I don’t usually pick up poetry, it often feels too heavy or distant.
But ‘Usi Lamhe Ki Khatir’ was different. The poems spoke to me in such a direct, personal way. Some made me smile, some made me a little emotional, and all of them made me pause and think.

It felt like Swadesh Ji was writing about moments I’ve lived but never managed to put into words.

It’s the kind of book I’ll keep close, just to flip through when I need grounding.

Have you ever read a book that feels less like “reading” and more like sitting with an old friend who speaks in poetry? That’s exactly how I felt with Usi Lamhe Ki Khatir. Right from the very first couplet —

"दैरो-हरम में रहता है या कहीं और, नहीं पता
इबादत, आह और दुआ को मालूम है उसका पता"

— I knew I wasn’t just turning pages, I was stepping into a world where spirituality, love, humanity, and philosophy all danced together in perfect rhythm.

Swadesh is no stranger to touching hearts. Having already made a mark with his earlier work आईना, he returns here with a collection of Ashaar and Ghazals that carry the fragrance of the Ganga–Jamuni tehzeeb — that delicate blend of cultures, languages, and traditions. This isn’t poetry that hides in complicated metaphors; it walks right up to you, looks you in the eye, and says what it has to say, with honesty and grace.

Rather than a “story” in the traditional sense, Usi Lamhe Ki Khatir is a tapestry — each thread a moment, a thought, a pang of longing, or a flash of joy. One verse will make you reflect on the fragility of human relationships, another will hold up a mirror to society’s contradictions, and the next will offer a quiet prayer to the divine. It’s the kind of book you can read in one sitting or savour slowly, opening at random and letting a single sher stay with you for days.

Swadesh writes with an ease that’s deceptively simple. His choice of words feels natural — like they were always meant to be in that order — yet they carry depth that makes you pause. There’s a balance here: the lyrical charm of Urdu, the rootedness of Hindi, and the openness of everyday conversation. Sometimes it feels like he’s whispering his thoughts to you over chai; other times, like he’s standing in a mehfil, his voice steady and confident, letting the silence after each couplet do the talking.

The beauty of this collection lies in the way it treats big ideas with a light touch. Love isn’t just romance — it’s sacrifice, understanding, even loss. Faith isn’t about rituals — it’s about connection. Humanity isn’t a lofty ideal — it’s something you practice in small, quiet ways. My personal favourite? The line —

"इश्क़ बहुत ही दिलचस्प खेल है जनाब
जो जिताता है, दरअसल वही हारता है" —

a reminder that the truest victories in love often come through surrender.

The collection isn’t rigidly organised, which works in its favour. Life doesn’t follow a neat pattern, and neither do these poems. You might move from a musing on time’s cruelty to a tender reflection on self-discovery, and somehow it all feels connected.

If I had to name the main threads running through this work, they would be love, spirituality, human values, and introspection. But more than the themes, it’s the emotional resonance that lingers. Some verses made me smile knowingly; others hit that tender spot you don’t often show the world. It’s a book that reminds you of things you already know deep down — but in words more beautiful than you could have found yourself.

The biggest strength here is authenticity. You can feel that Swadesh isn’t writing for applause or to chase trends — he’s writing because something deep within him needs to be expressed. His words carry the weight of lived experience, not borrowed sentiment, and that makes every sher and ghazal feel personal, like a page from his own diary.

The only thing I wished for was a short preface from the author, offering a glimpse into where some of these poems were born — a peek behind the curtain into the moments, people, or emotions that inspired them. But even without that, the sense of intimacy is undeniable; the connection between poet and reader feels direct, unfiltered, and real.

more vivid than you remember. It’s a book to keep by your side, to open on quiet mornings or restless nights. If you love poetry that speaks to both the heart and the mind, that doesn’t just decorate words but breathes life into them — this one belongs in your library.

I’d give it a wholehearted 5 stars — not because it’s perfect, but because it’s honest. And in poetry, that’s worth more than perfection.

"Usi Lamhe Ki Khatir" by Swadesh is a collection of short Hindi poems. The poems are the poet's musings on different topics, from his feelings on love to relationships, society, human values, and everyday things.

The poet, through his poems, reminds us of some of the biggest truths of life, like if you fear to do something big, you would probably live but never make your name, or we should fear God, as he is our maker. Then there are poems dedicated to his mother and appreciating the women and their resilience and strength.

There are also poems where the poet shows his heartbreaks and pain that he experiences in his life.

"रिश्तों और तजुर्बात से, सिर्फ़ इतना समझ सका
सब ख़ुदग़र्ज़ हैं यहाँ, कुछ कम, कुछ ज़्याद"

( From relationship and experience, I could only understand that everyone is selfish here, some less, some more)

The thing I love most about the book is the poet's choice of words for his verses; these are simple ones so that even if Hindi is not your first language, but you know some, you can read and experience the book. Also the glossary the author provides for the strong words will help you. So overall the book is a short, yet meaningful and powerful read and definitely a must-read if you are a poetry lover.

Among all the verses my favourite one -

" बोलना तो हम, दो बरस में सीख जाते हैं
क्या नहीं बोलें, उम्र भर नहीं सीख पाते ह "

( We learn to speak in two years,
What not to say, you can't learn throughout your life. )

This poetry collection takes readers through a wonderful mix of life's sweet and difficult moments, expressed through traditional Ashaar and Ghazals. The author shares their personal experiences with honesty and deep feeling, creating poems that touch the heart. The book beautifully preserves the rich Ganga-Jamuni cultural heritage while exploring themes of faith, integrity, and thoughtful reflection.

My impression of this collection is that it feels like having a heartfelt conversation with a wise friend. I was moved by how the poet transforms both joyful and challenging life experiences into beautiful verses that speak directly to the soul. The way they blend personal emotions with cultural traditions creates something truly special that I found both comforting and inspiring.

We can learn so much about finding meaning in every moment of our lives, whether happy or sad, and how poetry can help us process our deepest feelings.

Anyone who loves poetry, values cultural heritage, or is going through their own life journey should definitely read this book. I especially recommend it to those who appreciate traditional forms like Ghazals and want to connect with authentic, heartfelt writing that celebrates both struggle and beauty in equal measure.

What I loved most is how the author doesn’t shy away from life’s bittersweet truths. Instead, they wrap them in gentle words that linger in your mind long after you finish reading. This isn’t just a book of poetry, it’s a reminder to pause, feel, and appreciate the moments that shape us.

This collection of poetry weaves together a tapestry of life events and emotions, where the heart and an infinite range of emotions balance the mind and senses while attempting to maintain a sense of reality.

One poem will prompt you to consider the frailty of interpersonal relationships, another will serve as a mirror reflecting the paradoxes in society, and the final verse will give a silent petition to God. It is the type of book that you can read quickly or slowly, opening it at random and allowing one passage to linger in your mind for days.

The author has conveyed the bittersweet, loved, and difficult times of her life through these Ashaar and Ghazals.

Verse that piqued me the most:
❤️ इश्क़ प्यार की गंगा है, तोहफ़ा है ख़ुदा का खट्टा – मीठा ही सही, मज़ा है ज़िन्दगी का किसी डूबते को देखकर, बुत2 बने खड़े रहे तुम्हें इन्सान समझना, ख़ता है मेरी नज़र

Overall, this collection is ideal for both newcomers to Ashaar and Ghazals and experienced poetry readers. A fascinating and utterly delightful book, it presents a novel and genuine approach to portraying the human condition.

I often carry poetry books with me on trips, they feel like companions during quiet hours in a hotel room or by a window watching the world pass by.

Usi Lamhe Ki Khatir became one such companion, and it traveled with me in more places than I expected.

There’s something about the way Swadesh Ji writes, each verse feels like a small pause in time, a chance to reflect, to take stock of what you’re feeling and where you’re going.

Whether I was sitting in a train compartment staring out at the countryside or in a small café alone, the poems made me slow down and appreciate the emotions that normally get pushed aside.

What I loved most is how the collection balances melancholy and hope. It acknowledges that life isn’t always perfect, that heartbreak and confusion are part of the journey, but it never feels despairing.

Instead, it offers a quiet reassurance that every moment — even the painful ones — shapes who we are.

For travelers, dreamers, or anyone caught between destinations, this book is a reminder to be present with yourself.

It’s not about rushing to the next moment but learning to sit with the one you’re in — fully and with compassion.

Reading “Usi Lamhe Ki Khatir” is like walking through a garden of emotions, each poem a flower, each verse carrying its own fragrance. The author shares their life’s treasured and challenging moments through soulful Ashaar and Ghazals, inviting you to reflect on your own journey.

The poetry blends heart and mind beautifully, expressing feelings in a way that’s relatable yet deeply poetic. What I loved most is how the author doesn’t shy away from life’s bittersweet truths. Instead, they wrap them in gentle words that linger in your mind long after you finish reading.

It makes the collection feel timeless, as if the words could have been written yesterday or a hundred years ago.

What stands out most in Usi Lamhe Ki Khatir is the poet’s ability to balance vulnerability with resilience 🌿. The Ashaar and Ghazals carry raw emotions - love, loss, longing, and joy - but they are never weighed down by despair. Instead, they rise with a quiet strength that makes the collection comforting even in its most melancholic moments. Each verse feels like it carries both the fragility of memory and the courage to keep moving forward.

Another striking element is how the poet transforms personal reflection into something universal ✨. The emotions may come from intimate experiences, yet they echo within anyone who has loved, lost, or hoped. Life’s contradictions - pain and beauty, silence and expression, reflection and action - coexist gracefully in these pages. This duality makes the poetry multidimensional, offering something new with every reading.

The poet’s humility and gratitude for readers is woven into the work itself! The language is fluid, almost musical, allowing emotions to flow naturally. Usi Lamhe Ki Khatir is a beautiful read. 💜

Shri Swadesh Yadav Ji’s latest work is an elegant marriage of form and substance. His mastery lies in distilling profound truths into lines that retain both lyrical charm and intellectual weight.

The blend of Ashaar and Ghazals creates a rhythmic variety, and the subtle evocation of the Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb imbues the text with cultural depth. While the themes are timeless, the diction remains fresh, ensuring the work’s relevance across generations.

The words have a way of making you pause, smile, and think without feeling like you’re studying something “serious.” You don’t need to be a poetry expert to enjoy this book; it feels like sitting across the table from someone wise and kind, listening to them share stories about life and love. I think that’s the real charm here — the accessibility. It’s deep, but not heavy. It’s meaningful, but never overcomplicated.

A commendable addition to contemporary Indian poetry.

As someone who reads and studies poetry with a critical eye, I found Usi Lamhe Ki Khatir to be an exceptional demonstration of controlled craft and emotional resonance.

Shri Swadesh Yadav Ji’s poetic voice is both sophisticated and refreshingly unpretentious. His command over Ashaar and Ghazal forms is evident, and he uses them to explore universal themes without lapsing into clichés.

The imagery is subtle yet vivid, inviting the reader to linger over each line. One of the most compelling aspects is the infusion of the Ganga-Jamuni cultural ethos, lending the work a timeless texture that bridges historical richness with contemporary sensibilities.

This is a book that proves poetry can be both high art and intimately personal, carrying emotional clarity without sacrificing literary merit.

It’s not just a collection of poems — it’s a reflection on the very nature of life’s fleeting moments.

I’ve never been someone who reaches for poetry books — they always seemed intimidating or too abstract.

But when a friend suggested to me Usi Lamhe Ki Khatir, I decided to give it a try.
I didn’t expect much, but from the very first page, I felt like I was being invited into a conversation rather than being lectured at.

The verses are gentle, reflective, and deeply relatable. They speak about love, heartbreak, hope, and even uncertainty — all things we live through but rarely articulate. What struck me most was how approachable the poetry is. There’s no jargon, no over-complicated metaphors, just a sincere expression of human emotions.

I kept reading a few lines at a time, sometimes pausing to think about my own life, sometimes just sitting quietly letting the words sink in.

By the end of the book, I found myself recommending it to others. Usi Lamhe Ki Khatir taught me that poetry doesn’t have to be hard to understand, it just has to be honest, and this book is exactly that.

This is the sensitive meadow of the emotions, where each line flowers in integrity and beauty—Shri Swadesh Yadav. With beautiful verses and ghazals, he captures the painful enormous paradoxes of life: love winning over loss, faith measured beyond gold, and minute moments within time that can also communicate infinity. His words are lit and soaked in the Ganga-Jamuni culture, brushed with the musicality of Urdu, and they flow like a gentle stream—simple, biting, intrinsic yet universal. Each poem is a mirror and a window: reflecting those timeless moments parading on the outskirts of sorrow and joy. This is pure poetry; it is a hug, a friend's quiet secret; and a gentle reminder not to forget to stop, savor, and cherish the moment before it fades away as we live through all the luminous instances we call life.

I picked up Usi Lamhe Ki Khatir hoping to find something thoughtful, but what I found was far more — it was quietly transformative.

Many poems touched on faith, honesty, gratitude, and the human connection to something larger than ourselves.

What I love most is that the author doesn’t preach; instead, he shares reflections that feel like gentle guidance. There is a deep spirituality here, but it’s grounded — the kind that comes from living life and truly observing the world. The verses reminded me that devotion isn’t about ritual alone, but about kindness, humility, and the way we treat others in our daily lives.

I read some of the poems during my early morning prayers, and they stayed with me all day. This book isn’t just for poetry lovers, it’s for anyone seeking a moment of peace in a noisy world.

📖 Book Review 📖
Coming to this collection with a background in poetry, I was struck by the discipline in Shri Swadesh Yadav Ji’s craft. His mastery of Ashaar and Ghazal forms is evident, but what makes this work remarkable is how he balances structure with emotional depth.

There is no unnecessary ornamentation — each line feels deliberate, refined, and resonant. The cultural undertones of Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb enrich the work, rooting it in tradition while speaking to modern sensibilities.

The imagery is layered but never obscure, inviting close reading without alienating a casual audience.
For me, Usi Lamhe Ki Khatir is an exemplary demonstration of how contemporary poetry can honor classical forms while remaining refreshingly unpretentious.

It’s the kind of book I would recommend to anyone serious about understanding the evolving voice of Indian poetry today.

Having read poetry across traditions, from Mirza Ghalib’s timeless ghazals to the modern works of Gulzar — I approached Swadesh Yadav Ji’s Usi Lamhe Ki Khatir with curiosity.

What I found was a collection that surprised me with its restraint and its clarity.

In today’s times, where poetry is often either overly ornamental or stripped to the point of emptiness, Swadesh Ji achieves a rare balance. His ghazals and ashaar follow classical discipline, the rhyme, the meter, the internal rhythm — but they never feel bound by it. The discipline only sharpens the emotions. Each word seems deliberately chosen, polished until it resonates without excess.

For a reader invested in understanding where contemporary Indian poetry stands today, Usi Lamhe Ki Khatir is not just a collection of poems, but a statement of continuity — a bridge between the classical and the contemporary.

This is a collection where the heart converses with the mind, and emotions stretch like an open sky above a rooted soul. The poet weaves Ashaar and Ghazals with the delicate threads of Ganga-Jamuni culture, blending sweetness and sorrow, tenderness and truth. Each page carries a rhythm of life’s paradoxes—the poor man’s restful sleep against a rich man’s restless luxury, lovers divided by beauty and depth, and humanity’s hidden selfishness veiled by pretense. The verses feel like mirrors reflecting life’s raw honesty, while also offering the fragrance of love, the warmth of parents, and the virtue of integrity. At times philosophical, at times deeply intimate, this collection stays close to the reader’s heart. A soulful tapestry worth cherishing.

The collection reveals a poet deeply aware of the weight of tradition yet unafraid to engage with modern emotional landscapes.

The ghazals here are disciplined — the structure, the radif and qafia, the musicality of each sher, all are intact. Yet the language remains accessible, the imagery relatable. It’s poetry that respects form without making it a cage.

Usi Lamhe Ki Khatir is not simply a collection of poems; it is a statement of intent about what Indian poetry can be in the 21st century, rooted in heritage, refined in craft, yet open and unpretentious enough to touch the ordinary reader.

For me, it stands as one of the more meaningful contributions to contemporary Indian literature in recent years.
