Melisa & You in the Mirror is a deeply emotional and psychological novel that narrates the inner journey of a woman lost in the chaos of modern-day Istanbul. Melisa’s life takes a radical turn when she unexpectedly encounters a mysterious painter, Arel Shihab, during an art exhibition. Woven with Sufi metaphors and spiritual symbolism, this story invites the reader to explore their own inner universe.

📖

Melisa is a woman who, from the outside, seems to have it all—but inside, she carries a growing void. Her daily life, covered by monotonous routine, hides a sense of dissatisfaction that increasingly pushes her to face her true reality.

Everything changes when she visits an art exhibition titled “Rooms without Doors – Doors without Rooms.” The powerful metaphors of the exhibit intertwine dark memories of the past with the uncertainties of the present, resonating deeply within Melisa’s soul. There she meets Arel Shihab, an enigmatic artist whose silent gaze and wisdom shift her perception of life. Arel opens not only a doorway into art but also into the depths of her own existence.

The chaotic streets of Istanbul mirror Melisa’s internal storms. Broken mirrors, the scent of jasmine, and hidden symbols in Arel’s artworks become signposts along her path of self-discovery. Will Melisa be able to find her inner light, or will she get lost among the echoes of her past?

This story touches the deepest layers of the human soul and invites the reader to accompany Melisa on her search for meaning.

You in the Mirror is a novel for everyone who seeks light in the darkness of the soul, and who longs to reconnect with their forgotten dreams.

Are you ready to begin your own inner journey?

This book is difficult to review. I'm not sure I really understood it, but I got the impression that I wasn’t meant to. The book was meant to make me look inside myself, to search for the real me. It will take a while to absorb its wisdom,
