Sadly the final book in this trilogy felt like the weakest. I still enjoyed it, but no where near as much as the previous 2 books. I'm feeling a 3.5 star for this one.

I liked going to the Ghostlands 👻 in this one and seeing the banshee queen Sylvanas. We also meet up with Lor'themar and his band of elves slaughtering more Scourge. I was amused at one end named Halduron cause it made me think of Haldir from LOTRs 😁

There just wasn't much in the way of plot and action as compared to the previous one. So although it was good, it just didn't feel like we got as much from the page count as before. We do get a "reveal" but you figured that out in the previous book, but this is it: . So that's it in a nutshell, with all the interest peaking at the end, but still not a surprise for the most part.

Definitely the best of the 3 sunwell comics.
We get to travel to Quel'thalas! Like, the elven kingdom ravaged by the Scourge. Epic feeling. We also get to meet a younger version of Lor'themar and Halduron which was also really nice and added further development to these characters and their actions post Scourge destruction of Silvermoon and the entire high-elven kingdom.

But honestly, I cannot shut the hell up about the more we got of Krasus. Like sorry, I'm the dragon's biggest fan girl. I LOVE his character with all my heart, and the little get of him here was like phenomenal and how he worked in secret regarding everything.

Kalec didn't get as much development here which is kind of frustrating and he still seemed surprisingly naive considering that Cataclysm isn't that far away and he'll have his own role to play there.

It was a great comic though, but it was mainly built upon the appearances of new characters but those who were already established as solid characters in WoW's lore.

* You need to have read the previous novels to understand this story.

When Anveena get kidnapped by the mysterious evil elf Dar'khan, Kalecgos and his friends are traveling to the Ghostlands to save her. As they arrive, Dar'khan is casting a spell to unlock Anveena's special powers, but our heroes try to save her with the help of a band of Blood elves and Banshee Queen Sylvanas.

Again, another entry with beautiful art in an anime-like style. This book portaits the characteristics from the elves really well, even though Sylvanas is wearing an even more skimpier outfit than usual. A great novel/ series for the real World of Warcraft fans.

This is a very satisfying conclusion for the Sunwell Trilogy.

Some characters felt out of place in this story, major example being Sylvanas. Yes, I like Sylvanas and it was because of her I made my very first game character a blood elf hunter, BUT she did not contribute with anything to the story, she was just shoe-horned in, without actually displaying any of the badassness that was characteristic to her in the game.

What I liked about this trilogy was the story more than the characters. They had a really bad habit of presenting their own back story, due to the absence of the narrator. While it is understandable that they would be the ones that would present their own backstory, it did not always work well for the story. For instance, Loth'remar starts reminiscing what is his relation to Dar'Khan, all while in a battle < seriously I don't need to know this while you're fighting undead.
Another gripe is the fact that Tyrigosa, a m*****f*****g blue dragon has to be saved by Jorad (understandable she is weak *and I said they look cute together*) but really it's just a contrived convenience to have Jorad be all badass like and diminish Tyrigosa's importance. Oh and split Kalec from Tyri because he's in love with Anveena we can't have him be torn between this unknown peasant girl and his future mate. No we cannot. >.<

This is exactly what you think it is. If you've read the other two, and you're a glutton for punishment, go on and read this one as well.

Actually, I'm bumping this up to 2.5 stars. It was better than the other two. Better, but not much. I found it interesting when Kalec and Jorad were in Quel'Thalas and finally figured out the secret that Raac had known all along. (Aveena too...)

Seriously? I just wanted to write all those D&D-y names to prove that I read the dang thing. Well, the secret was a nice twist too... (as opposed to all those crappy betrayal twists they had throughout the whole thing...)

I've never played WoW but now know not to make friends on it if I do.

Oh.My.Goodness.
What an ending! This book is by far the best of the trilogy! It had me wrapped from open to close and devoured it.

It opens straight away into climax, picking up from the end of the second edition ended and continues until the last few pages. All loose ends are neatly tied up and in many ways it is canonical to the world and its stories as a whole. The best part for me, which I did have a problem with in the other two books, is the fact our characters are finally shown and given depth. Before most of them were two dimensional, only different through their names and clothing but this edition made sure they each had a purpose. Well perhaps not Tyri, but she tried.

There are of course are few negative things throughout the story that made me cringe or sigh. Some character development was missing, the scene changes can be a bit sloppy sometimes, action scenes can feel rushed or confusing (not all the time though) and the sexual tension ... Well you could cut through that with a knife. It's not overwhelming though, and if you can look past the minor things the reward is worth the wait.

... There is one other thing ...

The best part out of everything though?

I implore you all, go and give it ago. Players of the game or not, it's a very fun read that holds enough mythology it could very well stand apart from its Mother game.

Tip: Whether you're knowledgeable or not on the subject matter, don't skip the initial black and white history pages from book one. They are extraordinarily written and do add to the story as a whole. Even if you're not in for the story, these pages are considerably mind blowing.

A good ending to the sunwell trilogy and it was entertaining to see Sylvanas in manga form.

So overall I think this series would've benefited if it was longer and slower. So many things happen in this series and yet all felt very shallow. I really like stories from the Warcraft universe because they are nostalgic to me but the more I read the more confused I get about the excessively strange and twisty stories.
The art was really, really good tho. The character designs are bit strange at places and the writing is mediocre but overall I read worse. Also the first volume was the most absurd, the later ones are a bit better.

The issue has a fairly epic outcome, although it has been predictable in the face of the discovery of some of the mysteries.

I think it's an entertaining comic that helps us understand a little more what happens between Warcraft III and World of Warcraft in The Burning Crusade.

I recommend it openly

"And so, in the midst of a land of despair and death, there is hope. Hope for Quel'thalas, hope for a crippled realm and, perhaps, hope for all Azeroth."

Not a bad conclusion but nothing crazy. I did enjoy reading this trilogy but more so because of my general love for WOW, not for the fact that the story was anything amazing.

This was a good trilogy, a bit rushed in some parts, but overall pretty good.
I loved the reveal of Borel. I liked the bit of backstory for Sylvanas too.
Though I wish they kept the map from the first book in all the books. If location are a big thing in a story, maps are very helpful to the readers. A

So many reviews saying “oh! It’s way too quick, not long enough” well, yeah. It’s a graphic novel. They’re supposed to be quick.

I thought the trilogy was great, I have only limited knowledge of WoW, but I enjoyed seeing characters I recognized and learning some background lore. Worth the read for sure.

This is an interesting story. I did enjoy it, but it felt like it was a story stuffed in a small room. You have to kind of force yourself into it to really understand it, but there isn't enough time give to develop the story more. Still, it is interesting nonetheless.

Hey there, Sylvanas! I wish they had done more with her character in this story, but her appearance was still nice. this was a good wrap-up. Had I read this way back when it came out I probably would have been more surprised at the reveal, but it's been spoiled for a long time for me.

The conclusion of the trilogy.. Again pretty fun. Kalec and Anveen are the cliche heroes/mcguffin. The world is fun.. The battles are good.. Warcraft is always trying to be as epic as possible, which sometimes ends with an opposite effect.

2.5 stars.

Final previsível pra história. Um monte de cena de ação e um final feliz. Achei que daria pra entender pq o Kalegos é o primeiro chefe de sunwell... Mas acaba antes disso

As a pretty avid player of the game World of Warcraft, I was looking forward to this graphic novel trilogy set in the war-torn island of Azeroth, one of the islands that make up the fantastical world in the game.

The main character is a Kalec, a man who is not really a man. Instead, he is a blue dragon who can transform into a man. He has come to this area of Azeroth to try and prevent the Sunwell from falling under the influence of evildoers. The Sunwell, is a lost source of unimaginable power that disappeared many years earlier.

Upon his arrival, Kale meets Anveena a teenager girl living in the countryside. The two quickly become friends and compatriots after fending off an evil team of dwarves and orcs. They return to her family's cabin before heading out on a journey that will define the future of the world. They are joined on their mission by a number of stereotypical fantasy characters.

A dark lord living in the mountains is using an army of zombies to help connect him with the Sunwell. Little does he know it, but it is about to fall into his hands when he is confronted with the forces of good. Over the course of the three short volumes, that tale builds to a not-so-surprising reveal and an epic battle that doesn't really live up to the phrase.

I have to admit to being quite disappointed in these. I had been looking forward to reading them as soon as I ordered them for the library. Unfortunately, the storyline does not really seem to be specifically tied to the World of Warcraft game, and it definitely is not the most enjoyable. It is not bad, just sorta so-so.

I thought the illustrations were fairly good, but I do have to say that there were a number of times in which I had trouble figuring out which character was which in some of the panels.

Overall, this is a set you could skip unless you thought you really had to read them.

when 4 warriors go to find the princess of their kingdom they go to a harsh quest to find her. They fought their way through hundreds of zonbeis. They have to fight with dragons and other warriors. The other four warriors are the protagonists and the other warriors and dragons are the antagonists.

First, a confession: I have never played a World of Warcraft game or read any of the many books coming from the games. I do have lots of students who play and read these, so when the book fair offered a deal, I snatched it up. I've head several students come up to talk with me about it since they've seen me reading it. I was a little lost reading this one, probably because it is the third and final book in a trilogy in the middle of an entire series. Even so, I can see why it appeals to fantasy fans. It has elves and magic and dragons and evil lords and people who aren't what they first appear. It is still not my favorite thing to read, but I have a line of students waiting for it.
