When a homeless veteran is found brutally murdered on the cold streets of London, DCI Michael Lambert is dragged into a labyrinth of conspiracy, revenge, and racial hatred that threatens to tear the city apart.
As more bodies appear—each victim tortured and killed in the same meticulous manner—Lambert discovers a dark connection to an overdose case from three years ago. When right wing supremacist insignias begin appearing at each crime scene, what began as a series of homeless killings quickly spirals into something far more sinister.
With London erupting in violent protests and a terrorist threat level rising by the hour, Lambert races against time to find the killer before they strike again.
Perfect for fans of Mark Billingham, Tana French, and Angela Marsons.

I have read all the books in the series and I am familiar with the characters. However I felt that Matt has run out of ideas in how to continue to make the series less predictable. In this respect I was a little disappointed in the book overall. If he decides to write another book in the series I would be reluctant to read it.
Great to catch up with the team, relationships developing and terrific storyline. Quite a number of typos unfortunately (which I've reported) but scalp for scalpel during the denouement was unfortunate and annoyingly distracting
Matt Brolly is back with yet another exciting DCI Lambert story, in which he’s developed a well thought out plot line and some of the things in it can be seen in the world we live in today, which in itself is a scary thought. Well worth reading.
All the action that took you from the very beginning To where you got to the creator of the white order Was just a story That seemed to have no end What a wonderful book
I have really enjoyed reading this DCI Michael Lambert series. I do hope that Matt is going to write another soon! If you enjoy police procedurals, you will enjoy this series. I definitely recommend.
I really enjoyed this latest outing for Michael Lambert and the way his boss is able to control his next job! Looking forward to the next one. Julian Tremayne, Pocklington, East Yorkshire
Excellent read as expected from Matt Brolly. The only criticism was the continual reference to Michael Lambert’s daughter Chloe in virtually every situation.
This was a great book For me it's a five star read All the ingredients were there as usual but I have to take one star away There was quite a few mistakes with words not completed etc but great book
