"As we age, our bodies undergo metabolic, hormonal, and physiological changes that impact everything from heart health to digestion and cognitive function. A well-balanced diet plays a crucial role in maintaining overall wellness.”
It’s that time of year again - the time when many of us make promises (a/l/a resolutions) to ourselves to eat better, get in shape, save more, etc. During the second half of 2025 a doctor mentioned the Mediterranean Diet to me. Diets go in fads but I’d skipped this one the last time round. The book was on Kindle Unlimited and at the library or for purchase. It meets my cookbook requirements, colorful photos. short recipes requiring only ingredients I already have on hand. and, bonus here, large print. As you can probably tell, I’m not “into” cooking but we all have to eat; hence, the beginner level cookbook for me.
The Easiest Mediterranean Diet for Seniors contains numerous easy-to-follow recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and, of course, snacks. Each recipe focuses on the foods that the mediterranean diet is known for: fruits, veggies, nuts, fish and beans. The recipes are pretty simple - serving 1 to 2 persons, perfect for my tastes. It also offers 30 day meal plans, something I know I’ll never follow.
“eating well is not about restriction, but about embracing a way of life that nurtures both body and mind. It is a celebration of flavor, culture, and longevity, reminding us that the best nutrition comes from nature, tradition, and balance.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
