Really great book for you to pass the exam and learn more of the .NET technology.
Small summary of the book chapters:
1- Accessing data: First chapter start introduce the different data access technology. 2- Querying and manipulating data by using the entity framework: From it's title you can tell. 3-Designing and implementing WCF Services: Really good for beginners to find and know how to create and use the WCF Services. 4-Creating and consuming Web API-based services: This will teach you how to create an ASP.NET MVC API. 5-Deploying web applications and services: This will show you how to deploy your web applications in different ways. Also, check the part about signing the assembly and creating a local NuGet server.
The book presents some good information about working with databases using .Net technologies, Caching, WCF and REST services. The information about Azure is scarce and the practical examples are somewhat missing. For the 487 exam, the test king files by Dominic, Helen and Ariel are the most important study guides.
As for the start of 2o2o, the book is interesting to read before the 70-487 exam, but you have to choose which chapters to read and which to skip (some are already obsolete), but overall book is useful
Very helpful, the approach to highlighting what needs to be known for the exam (contrasted with what you need to know for real world use) was very well done. The fourth chapter on Web API wasn't as well edited, but the rest of the book was the best Microsoft exam study guide I've read.
