Hi! I am an American expat currently living in Amsterdam. After traveling extensively around Asia, Oceania, and Central America, I moved to Darwin, Australia, before finally settling in the Netherlands. When not writing, you can find me in a museum, biking around Amsterdam, or enjoying a coffee along the canal while planning my next research trip.
My love of travel, art, and culture inspires my award-winning Zelda Richardson Art Mystery series, Travel Can Be Murder Cozy Mysteries, and Carmen De Luca Art Sleuth Mysteries.
So very good!! I enjoyed every minute of it!! I was I felt like that I got to know the Olympic so much better!!. Evelyn and Grace cracked me up sometimes. I already knew Grace didn't do it. At first I didn't like Hardy. But eventually I did learn to like him. This was an awesome adventure. The Rms Olympic is a special ship in my opinion and my favorite! The author has done well with this novel. I cant wait to read the next book. This is my favorite book already lol!! 5 stars from me. I highly recommend it! My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.
This new series introduces an independent young American travel journalist in the 192os who can’t help becoming involved in murder mysteries. In this novel Evelyn is travelling with her friend Grace, a silent movie star now giving up films for marriage to a European aristocrat. There are many characters on board the luxury liner so plenty of suspects when an unpleasant man is murdered but circumstances frame Grace so Evelyn must assist Detective Hardy in his investigation in order to prove her friend’s innocence. The complex plot kept me engaged and I enjoyed Evelyn’s development of a working relationship with the detective. Her time in London in the next volume looks very promising.
The story was interesting. It takes a while to get to the murder, about halfway through the story. The author did keep me guessing about who the murderer was, but it was one of three I had as sighted in on. There was a bit of repetitive phrasing and the tenses changed on occasion, which kind of drives me crazy, but overall I enjoyed the book.
Mystery, murder, theft, fraud - it's all there on board the Olympic ocean liner. This mystery has a large cast of interesting characters all of whom have their own secrets, but who did it? An enjoyable read.
