The Fae Court #3

The Harlequin: The Fae Court, Book 3

Rate this book
I was manipulated by the Jester. I fell for the Fae Lord. But if we are to survive what is to come, then I am going to have to become The Harlequin.

My name is Alana Leafborne, and my destiny hangs by a thread.

Divided between light and shadow, I stand torn between a choice that will shape the fate of Luminael. The power within me grows stronger each day, a double-edged sword that could save our kingdom or destroy it.

As Finn's army of transformed Shadowkind marches on the castle, our alliances threaten to shatter and loyalties are tested. With Eldrion at my side and magic beyond my imagining at my fingertips, I must decide what kind of ruler I want to be—and what sacrifices I'm willing to make.

In a world where trust is a luxury and power corrupts, can I resist the call of the darkness that whispers promises of vengeance? Or will I become the very thing I've sworn to destroy?

This is a sad and dark story about how Alana was morphed from being a kind, caring girl into a dark dark person. It shows how the actions of others can impact onto someone. How power and corrupt. I found this really sad and however I don’t think how someone is treated justifies bad actions, it was different to see this in a book rather than hero’s. Maybe Alana started off as a possible hero but she was corrupted by the people around her who constantly berated her and made her feel weak. Which in turn, made her a strong female who decided she needed no one. I found it really sad how the only person (Briony) who was always nice and caring towards her ended up being hurt by Alana, it really broke my heart😢

Should have DNFd this series. What tf was the purpose of this.
1st book - 2.5 🌟
2nd book- 3.75🌟
3rd - 0.25🌟
The second book gave me hopes for the 3rd, the character development was evolving. The spice was cringe, nothing changed about it but we went from the chosen one trope where we would finally the FMC raise to her potential to a self destruction trope. Not needed, nobody asked for this.

If this triology was one book, i probably would give it a 4 as a whole, but as a stand alone book it sucked, the last 5 chapters were painfully useless.
