An excellent, well researched and fast-paced novel that would leave you enthralled. It is different because it is the story of a female don and her ambitions. Must read.

Not sure why we categorize it as fiction.
Very insightful, genuine & authentic details about underworld of late 90s & it's linkages with political & business class.
Like Polyester Prince which has been lauded a lot for bringing out the corporate rivalry & dirty games, this too a must read for those who really wanna peep into the mafia world & the way they operate.
No wonder why Tigmanshu Dhuliya & Anurag kashyap taking this up as their new project.

Full marks to Aashu Patel.

Though classified as novel, it is more like narration of Archana Sharma, a lady gangster's life story. Gives a fair idea about working of various gangs which were active during 80's and 90's. One more fact that cannot be ignored is - Mumbai police plays a vital role in keeping the city pretty safe.

(This review is for the English version of the novel. )
Madam X is a fast paced , racy novel. Being in crime thriller genere it lacks the thrilling factors which should be in a thriller novel . Pace of the book is good and maintained till the last chapter but story telling is lost somewhere in the pace . In almost every chapter many things are repeted again and again . Characters are not impactful and except the character of Madam X none of the characters are well built . Felt like reading the story of a potboiler bollywood action thriller flick .
