as I said in my status update, this was the best so far in the series...
Camden Jameson is actually a twin fighter from the prequel part 1 I refused to read cause I didn't like them, the twin fighters Ryley and Camden Jameson were complete manwhores that had a dispute over a woman they wanted to share..bla, bla, so i skipped it...in the meantime Camden did some pretty shitful things in Ryley's book (which I didn't read except for the last 150 pages to get the insight into the book Paxton's promise, and in there was the info about Camden)
well, to put things short - he went underground, did bad stuff and went astrange from his family and friends...things went more shit and Camden's path to redemption started in the book Paxton's promise, so now we see him hidden under the alias and under a full time watch from the undercover cop Brooklyn /Brook/B. and of course, she gets too close...and they both get the second chance on love...but the case against Camden is not resolved... there's still danger lingering around them...and untill they figure out who's the leak in their ranks...he wants to protect her life and she wants to do the same for him...
Camden is a character I never thought I'd like...there was smth off about the both brothers in the prequel so I was adamnt at first to reading this, but I said what the heck...
I'm glad I did...this was the best book in the series, yeah, yeah, I said it already...
the characters were developed and they gradually rose from bad to good (redemption was never so appealing...LOL) Camden went form rogue underground bad fighter to a clean mention worthy UFC champion...yes, yes it has a HEA and I'm glad it does...
some of the sentences he says were spot on...and you can actually see him growing and expanding as a person... and when he finally lets go to the feelings that he never knew as such, he never knew love, or gave it...untill Brooke
“There’s just something about her I can’t let go. I’m going to do something I’ve never done before.” “Ah shit. And what’s that?” he asked. “Fight for something that’s actually worth it.”
he still feels unworthy of her because of his past and the horrible things he did..but she's such a strong female character I couldn't even imagine her any better...
"No one looks at me like that.” “I look at you like that.” Sighing, he closed his eyes and then opened them back up slowly. “Why?” I lifted up on my toes and pressed my lips gently to his. “Because I love you, Camden Jameson.
but she won't take it...she's giving him her love and support and she pushes him to the limit...for him to acknowledge the fact that what they have between them is real...
“How can you love me?” he asked, his voice gruff. “I do fucked up things that hurt the people closest to me. I can’t promise you that’ll change.” “No, but you can promise me you’ll try. That’s good enough for me.”
“Guys like me don’t deserve such happiness,” he murmured. “Tonight I have it, but tomorrow’s a different day. Promise me you’ll still be here.” I chuckled and kissed him back. “I’m not going anywhere.”
and it takes some hard life endangering stuff for Camden to finally say it outloud...
“I love you, Brooklyn. So help me God, I love you so much it fucking hurts.” More tears fell down her cheeks, and she smiled. “So all it took was getting shot?” “I wanted to tell you sooner, but I didn’t know how.”
“This is why I left, buttercup. Because I knew the second you came after me, I wouldn’t be able to let you go.” “Then don’t,” I cried. “We can face this together.” Lifting me in his arms, I straddled his waist as he kissed me again. “I just don’t want to lose you.” “Then don’t let me go.”
“I want you. You make me happy. And I never plan on letting you go, no matter how dramatic you get.” He chuckled. “Stay with me, Brooklyn. For as long as you want to be with me, I want you to stay.”
and yes, the best sex scene ever that made me even laugh while reading it...and there's more to it but this little glimpse...
“Camden,” I cried. “Please, let’s go inside.” “As you wish.” But instead of going inside my house, he lowered his hand between us and slipped a finger inside, then two. “You’re right, I think I like being inside. You’re so fucking wet.”
After Riley´s book, I was dying to read Camden’s book. Although from the first book he seemed a bit of an asshole, seeing how he behaved with Ash and everything he did to try to ruin Ash and Riley´s relationship. His jealousy towards his brother clouded his judgment so much that he got involved into the world of illegal fights, where he almost killed his brother. But there was still a ray of hope. His help to Paxton and Gabby when they got involved with Scar has now made him have a target on his back and have to hide to save his life. Mason, a former UFC fighter and now a cop, protects him and helps him to stay hidden. He stays with Gabby and Pax first, but Mason has decided its time to move to another secure location. Mason has given him a very special bodyguard, Brooklyn. She is his protégé, he himself has trained her and considers her the best for this job since she has many things in common with Cam. She is also running away from her old life. A few months ago she had a car accident with her sister and saw her die. Thanks to her brother Jason she is alive to tell the tale but with a few scars in her body( just like Cam). While she was still grieving the loss of her sister, she discovers her boyfriend in bed with another woman. All of this helped her to accept the position of babysitter for our most rebellious fighter. Mason wants them to move to Charlotte, Brooklyn ´s homeland, where her family and her cops friends are so they will be more protected. Brooklyn pretends to be Cam’s neighbor, and although she tries to keep her distance, the attraction between them is so strong that she ends up mixing work with pleasure. Blake, her ex, is not very happy with the situation and tries to convince her to get back with him. But Cam, who has never had an interest in any woman other than to get between their legs, is not going to make it easy for him. He doesn’t know why but he can’t be away from her. When Brooklyn tells him the truth about her and her job, he is about to send everything to hell and go back to Cali to face Scar once and for all, but she stops him by declaring her love. Cam, who had never felt anything like it, said that he would do whatever it takes not to lose her. But when they are shot on a walk trough the woods and Brooklyn is injured protecting him, he decides that it is best to leave so as to keep her safe. But Brooklyn is not going to give up easily, she is going to go looking for him, if only to beat his ass for leaving her.
When I glanced at Gabby, her face softened, pissing me off even more. Pity was the one thing I’d come to despise. I saw enough of it every fucking day. Gabriella slammed the envelope to my chest. “That’s not true,” she hissed. “I would miss you and so would your brother. You need to stop feeling sorry for yourself.” I didn’t feel sorry for myself; I was disgusted. I hated what I’d become.
“Cam,” I warned, folding my hands on the table. The wolfish grin on his face made me tremble. I wish he would stop looking at me like that. “What is it?” he asked. “For starters, we just met and we don’t know anything about each other. I don’t know what you’re used to but it’s obviously not what I am. My experience with men hasn’t been all that great. You helped me out and I’m paying you back. But if you’re looking for a piece of ass you’re not going to get it from me. We can be friends, that’s it. I’m not your type.” “How’s that?” I snorted. “Because I can spot an arrogant, rich boy from a mile away. You’re used to getting what you want. I’m not that easy to get.” He sat back in his chair, studying me. “Noted. And just so you know, I don’t particularly like the easy ones. Sometimes it’s good to fight for what you want.”I held up my hands. “All I’m saying is, I don’t want you to get the wrong idea. The last thing I need is to get involved with someone.” Leaning on the pink lacquered table, he pinned me with his hypnotic eyes. “Buttercup, you have nothing to worry about. I never get involved.”
“Where I come from, before I got my scar, the women would line up to be with me. I could have a different one every night. Hell, sometimes two and three. It’s all I’ve ever been used to. I’ve never been around anyone who was . . . real. I never even cared until now.”WHAT THE FUCK was wrong with me? Why did I give a shit about this girl? I never cared about anyone before and I didn’t want to start now. But there was something about her that drew me in. She wasn’t like all of the other girls I’d fucked. She was smart, beautiful, and strong. I liked how she didn’t know who I was, or that I had a ton of money, a house in Malibu, and a collection of sports cars. She also didn’t know of my past—what I’d done. This place could be a new start for me, a new beginning.
“You’re not scaring me, Cam. Redemption is around every corner, you just have to be willing to work for it.” Shaking his head, he broke eye contact and faced his door. “It’s too late. There’s no hope for me.” He opened his door and stalked inside.
“Would you have been able to wait?” He started to say something and then stopped. The silence was deafening. “I didn’t think so.”. “I wouldn’t have waited on you because I didn’t give a damn about anyone other than myself. I’m not the kind of guy to fall in love.” “What about now? What if you were in love with me?” His blue eyes searched mine. “If I was in love with you, I wouldn’t just wait, I’d be by your side doing everything I could to bring you back to me.”My breath hitched and my heart thundered so achingly hard in my chest. I was falling too fast and there was no way I’d get out if I didn’t turn back. With the way Camden looked at me, it was already too late.
“Because I want you to know who I am. Who I really am. I don’t want to lie to you anymore. I guess I just don’t know what you see in me. You could have any man you want, but yet you choose to be with someone who doesn’t deserve you. I’m a monster, Brooklyn. You don’t even know the real me.”“Then tell me,” I shouted. “Tell me who you are.” “You couldn’t handle it,” he snapped. That was the last thing he needed to say to me. There was nothing I couldn’t handle. “You don’t think I can handle it?” I snarled. “Which part? The part where you fucked over your brother and his wife? What about what you did at the Dark Side? I know everything about you, Camden.” He turned to face me, his chest rising and falling with his rapid breaths. “How do you know who I am?” When I didn’t answer, he stepped closer and grabbed me by the shoulders hard. “How, Brooklyn?” “We have a friend in common,” I confessed. He sighed and closed his eyes. “You have got to be fucking kidding me. Mason.” Letting me go, he stepped back and glared at me. “What are you, a cop?” I nodded. “I wanted to tell you, but I couldn’t. I don’t want to lie to you anymore. Because I fell for you, Camden. It wasn’t supposed to happen. You may have a damaged past, but I see past all that. I know you want to run back to California and face Scar’s people, but I need you here, safe . . . with me. You have to trust me. What I feel for you is real.” Tilting his face up to the rain, he sighed and closed his eyes. “I’m going to regret this,” he whispered. “Regret what?” In one quick movement, he closed his lips over mine and gripped the back of my neck, holding me in place. I willingly opened my lips and let him taste me, his tongue sweeping the inside of my mouth like a starved animal. My whole body clenched and trembled as his hands glided down my back, landing on my ass. He was hard between my legs and I moaned when he pushed himself against me. “I want you so fucking bad,” he groaned, sucking my bottom lip between his teeth.
“But I don’t want to be with anyone else. I don’t want to hide what we have.” “And what is that exactly? What do you think we have?” I asked. “You know this will never work when you go back to California. You’ll go back to being the fighting superstar with women at your beck and call, and I’ll be here.” My heart was getting too attached and I wanted to kick myself in the ass for letting it go so far. There was no way in hell he’d leave everything in California to stay with me. He tucked a strand of hair behind my ears. “We have more than that and you know it. Can’t we just live in the moment and go from there? I don’t know what’s going to happen once everything’s over, but I don’t want to think about that right now. All I want is to throw you down on your bed and fuck you until you can’t walk.”
“What’s it going to take, huh?” “For what?” he murmured. “To get you to understand you’re perfect the way you are. You don’t have to prove your worthiness to anyone. There isn’t a single person who’s better than you. Not Mason, Blake, or even your brother.” He shook his head. “That’s not true. My brother will always be a better man than me. He turned his life around and now he’s a UFC champion, has a family, and everyone looks up to him. No one looks at me like that.” “I look at you like that.” Sighing, he closed his eyes and then opened them back up slowly. “Why?” I lifted up on my toes and pressed my lips gently to his. “Because I love you, Camden Jameson. It scares me to admit it, but I do, and I want you to hear it. I don’t expect you to say it back, but once all of this is over and you go back to California, I just want you to know that you can be loved. You’re more than worthy of it.”“You have awakened something I never knew existed. It rips at my soul and scares the fuck out of me, yet it also makes me feel alive. I don’t want to let it go. I don’t want to let you go.” Lowering his head, he kissed my cheek and trailed his lips down to my neck. “What are you saying?” I asked. “I don’t know if what I feel is love. I’ve never had it before. But goddamn, it sure does feel like it. Whatever happens between us, I can’t let it end. Tell me you don’t want it to.”“I want us to be together, Camden. We don’t know what’s going to happen once everything’s over, but I can promise you my love will not change . . . even when you go back home.”“My home is with you. I don’t want to be anywhere else.”
“Do you remember what you said to me out in California? The time when you said that my leaving would keep my family safe?” He nodded. “Yeah.” “Well, now I need to keep her safe. I can’t do that here if she’s going to jump in the line of fire at every turn.” “You’re leaving?” he asked angrily. “I am. I’m done running. This has to end. I refuse to sacrifice those I love.”“She loves you, jackass. I know this girl. She won’t agree to this. Don’t push her away to keep her safe, Camden.”“Let’s just hope she forgives me for this. You know where I’ll be.”
“So what, you were going to wait this out? What if it took a year, Camden? You’re supposed to be a fighter. Fighters don’t run from their problems, they fight for what they want. You might think you’re saving me, but all you did was hurt me. I needed you and you left.”

This series just gets better and better. I wasn't sure how L.P was going to redeem Camden but I am so glad she did. You knew from the beginning of the series how he was jealous and in this book I think he grew and knew he royally screwed up and had to make it right. Never thinking he was good enough or never experience love before until he met Brooklyn. Brooklyn brought out the old Camden and saw him for who he really is. This was an amazing book and I loved reading every minute of it. I love seeing all the characters appear in the book and I can't wait to read Kyle's story next.

I was first introduced to L.P. Dover with her Second Chances series. I fell in love with her style of writing and just couldn’t get enough of it. While the Second Chances novels are more contemporary love stories, her Gloves Off series goes to the other extreme. They are also love stories but they are wrapped up in all sorts of alpha male hotness.
The Gloves Off series follows five different MMA fighters and the things they have gone through in life to get where they are. Each character has their own book that can be read as stand alone or as a series. I would recommend reading them as a series as there are characters that cross over from book to book.
The reading order for the series is: A Fighters Desire Part One & Part Two, Tyler’s Undoing, Ryley’s Revenge, Paxton’s Promise and Camden’s Redemption. There is also a novella called Winter’s Kiss that brings us back to Ryley’s story and then last but not least, Kyle’s Return.
The characters are all wonderfully written and come to life right off of the page. In Camden’s Redemption the story is told from the point of view of Camden and Brooklyn. They are two character’s that have both had heartache and tragedy in their life and want to move on but don’t know if they can.
Camden was introduced in the first book in the series A Fighter’s Desire and the development of the character from then to now is amazing. It’s like watching your kids grow up and knowing that you want to stop them from going through the hard times but at the same time having to let them learn to grow on their own from their mistakes. The question is how much is too much?
Camden is my favorite MMA hunk so far just for the journey that he has had to make throughout his life. Can Camden ever make up for all the wrong that he has done? Is it possible to find redemption, especially when you least expect it? You will have to read Camden’s Redemption to find out. 🙂
Favorite Quote: “Enough about my fucked up life,” “What I really want to know is, how good of a fighter are you? I never thought I’d be in bed with a girl who could kick my ass.”
FINALLY!! This book saved this series for me! I was so close to stopping but I figure with two more books I might as well finish it.. and thank fuck I did!
Not only is Camden my fave from the guys in this series but his story was far more interesting, kept me on my toes and had more character growth then all the previous ones combined.
I'm thoroughly a fan of Brooklyn too! I originally liked Gabriella from the previous books because she was tough, independent, non-irritating, and actually had common sense (in comparison to Ashleigh. Ugh) but Brooklyn ticked all the boxes for me. She had all the qualities that I liked from Gabriella but without the flashiness. Brooklyn was down to earth, relatable, likeable (that's a big one!).. and the chemistry between her and Camden was palpable!
I would recommend this series solely because of this book. I would read all previous books in the series just to get to this one!
It had the perfect balance of romance, MMA scenes and suspense through a fairly intriguing plot, all while keeping up with the continuation of the overall storyline from book one.
After endless DNFs, this book was a hail mary. I needed to end this month on a good note & Camden's Redemption saved the last pieces of my sanity. I loved his redemption arc. I'm so happy he's back from the dark side (pun intended) and is starting to get his life back. Brooklyn helped with that, but I think it's really important that he WANTED to change & was turning his life around before she got involved with him. I loved seeing them love on each other & be open and honest with each other about everything. And the spice was present & accounted for! This was an automatic reread for me in more ways than one.
I will say, though, I don't think the OM drama was necessary. I don't mind it if it's done the right way, but with everything going on in terms of the MCs & the plot, Blake's addition was unneeded in my opinion.
The pacing was good. I wouldn't say this was a predictable read, but it wasn't hard to narrow down the enemy either. The issue I had with the reveal was it seemed easily solvable. How is after the MMC working so close and you didn't know. I think familial connections would be the first thing they'd look into. Speaking of which, nothing was really explained about his motives & how they executed their plan. Mason & Camden weren't all that close before things blew up in the last book & the villain had been working for Mason for years. Why was he operating under a fake name & how did he know Mason would insist on helping Cam escape? A lot of unanswered questions regarding that situation.
This series gets better and better. The Gloves Off series has become one of my favorite series of all time. I will continually go back and reread them and never stop loving them. These fighters have become my fighters. I feel like I have known them for a long time. I feel like I know them and I love that. I loved how we got dual POVs with this book so we get Brooklyn's POV as well as Camden's. And let's face it, we all want to know what is going on in Camden's head. It was great to finally see and understand what makes him tick. I was able to understand and connect with him now. The poor guy just wanted to be loved.
Camden's Redemption has become one of my favorites in this book series!!! Camden has popped up on several of the other books and you love him then hate him. But now, in his own book, you can't help to go back to loving him. I was so happy to go on Camden's journey with him and see him change for the good. He let jealousy and insecurity knock him down, but he got himself together again. He regretted everything that he did and who he became that he couldn't see anything but a monster. But Brooklyn looked past the scars and saw Camden for who he truly was. After watching him for months, she saw the changes he made. She knew him better than anyone.
Camden basically lived from town to town. He is on the run hiding from Scar so he is unable to stay in a town for too long. Camden isn't a coward. He actually wants to go back and face it head on, but the friends he does have, won't let him. And little does he know, he has been under surveillance the whole time. Brooklyn has been watching and protecting him for over 4 months. She has also been keeping him out of trouble and keeping the women away. That was hilarious!!! When they finally meet, sparks fly. But in their own way, they fight it. When all the secrets come out, Brooklyn vows to always protect Camden with her life. He refuses to the let that happen and does what he thinks is best for Brooklyn and leaves. But Brooklyn hunts him down and lets him have it. Let's just say they are perfect for each other.
Camden's Redemption took was a fantastic book from start to finish. It was completely epic and left me wanting more. I want to see him when their little bundle of joy comes and see him experience that all for the first time. I love seeing Camden so protective over Brooklyn especially after they found out this news. So I want more!!!! This book had a lot of surprise and shockers. I had a feeling who the villain was since it is always the one you least suspect and I was right!!! This was an AMAZING story and I highly recommend it!!! It is a MUST read everyone!!!!
First off, I LOVE this series by LP Dover! It's more than just MMA fighting. It has HOT MMA fighters, suspense, violence, HOT MMA fighters, raw sex, and yes a little bit of love. Oh and very alpha HOT MMA fighters! Through the first few books, I think most readers would agree, Camden Jameson was not only a self serving ass to just about everyone, he was also a very broken man. He had hit rock bottom by fighting in the underground circuit. I was not a fan of this character at all. Well, LP Dover, you brought that boy around! I am now on team Camden! Of course it took a very special woman to tame the beast. Brooklyn could not have been a more perfect heroine for this story. I was nervous about all the lies and secrets between the lead characters to begin with. I did a little happy dance when B decided that she was all in in this relationship and couldn't keep on lying in good conscience to Cam. I was so happy that that conversation occurred early on in their relationship and didn't cause undo strife as something revealed far down the road. If there ever was a bad boy who needed redeeming, it's Camden. Brooklyn saw something in him that he no longer believed he possessed.
Opening the door, I stepped out into the hallway and kept my eyes solely on his when the door shut behind him. "You're not scaring me, Cam. Redemption is around every corner, you just have to be willing to work for it."
Together, they became a balm for each other's hurts. Both finding acceptance for who they are not just what they are. Camden dug down and became the swoony kind of hero we all love with a few rough edges.
But you love the ocean, the waves. I've seen you surf and I know it's your passion.
It is, but I'd give it all up for you. There is no you and I, it's only we from here on out. It's your choice, Brooklyn. Are we going to stay, or are we going to go?
You'll want to start at the beginning of the series to get a true feel for the relationships between the friends and family in the series. When you get to this book, I know you'll flip for Camden. Enjoy this author a whole lot! Can't wait to read more from her!

"Redemption is around every corner, you just have to be willing to work for it."
Forced to run from his mistakes to keep everyone he loves safe Camden is living a solitary existence, always running and looking over his shoulder. Past caring what happens to himself, Camden feels restless and wants to go home to tackle the threat head on but his friend and protector Mason sends him to Charlotte....
Brooklyn, the undercop assigned to be Camden's shadow, is also not happy with the news they have been reassigned to Charlotte. Her hometown and the heart of all her problems, she initially took Camden as an assignment to escape her own troubled past. Returning home to deal with the ghosts of her past including a cheating ex that wants her back, parents that can't appreciate the children they have and the grief of losing a sibling Brooklyn also has keep alert as death is stalking Camden.
Will these two scarred and damaged souls find redemption in each other's arms? Can they heal the wounds of the past with the hope of their new love? Can Camden overcome the threat of the repercussions of his actions? Has he really changed and become a man worth of love? "Fear keeps you from taking risks. Those risks are worth taking."
This is a wonderfully written edge of your seat read, with a perfect blend of action, suspense and hot sexy scenes. Brooklyn is a feisty don't mess with me type that is the ultimate match for Camden's larger than life alpha male persona. Camden is a man weighed down with regret and guilt, fearing he is not worthy of love. What he feels for Brooklyn makes him change for the better. The supporting cast of Mason, Jason, Blake, Tabby and Paxton to name but a few add humour, emotional insight and built our attachment to the story. We are invested in their relationships, smile with them and hearts pound in fear when the drama builds! The ending was perfectly heart warming too.

Camden't Redemption is the 4th book in the Gloves Off Series. Books 1-3 should be read before reading this one.
Camden is on the run, he's hiding from Scar. When he helped Mason take down the Dark Side, the underground illegal fighting ring he knew he'd be on their radar. They wanted Camden dead. He wanted his family safe, so he left.
Brooklyn is assigned to watch Camden. For months she's been in the shadows until Mason moves Camden to NC. The rest of the team is there it will be easier to protect him. Brooklyn is coming home, she was happy to run from her past that waiting on her at home.
Camden's scarred and not just on the outside. He's ashamed of what he's become. What he's done to Ryley and Ashleigh. Can he change? Can he put someone else first? Can Brooklyn face her past? Can she protect Camden and her heart at the same time?
"Do you see all of this? I got them all from fighting, from hurting people. It's what I do. It's who I am. I'm a monster."
I don't know how Ms. Dover does it, but every one of these boys turns into my favorite. I have been waiting patiently for Camden's story. I was so curious how she was going to bring him from his darkness without turning into a wimpy character. She was able to do it beautifully. Camden has always had this edge to him, I am so happy that even though his outlooks have changed he still has that sexy edge.
I hate that this series is coming to an end, but all great things do. It will make for great rereads!
I swear this series just keeps getting better and making me love it more with each book! They have all been wonderful and Camden's Redemption is no different! It was totally the bomb and I freaking LOVED it!!!
I was really excited when I learned Camden was going to get his own story. Even though I read Ryley's Revenge where he's all psycho crazy, after I read Paxton's Promise, where he's trying to be a better guy, I still wanted to see him be happy and become a great guy. I never thought about not giving him a chance and it might sound crazy, but hey, what can I say? I have thing for messed up, damaged, broody bad boys. Camden really turns out to be a wonderful hero and I loved him! It doesn't hurt that he's hot, possessive, and totally sweet either!
Brooklyn--now that girl can kick some major butt! She's tough-as-nails, stubborn, brave, and fierce. She's absolutely perfect for Camden because she challenges him and is strong enough to take him on. I think they might just be my favorite couple now!
Camden's Redemption made my heart hurt, gave me that sharp burning sensation in my nose from trying to hold back tears, but it also made me laugh and smile a lot too. It had some steamy moments, sad ones, and downright sweet-nose-burning-heart-melting moments. It was an amazing book and I never wanted to stop reading it, I loved it so much! I also can't wait to read Kyle's Return although it's going to be bittersweet because I'm going to miss all these fighters--the men and the women!!
Camden's Redemption is a standalone, it's told from Camden and Brooklyn's POV and I loved their HEA ending! ~ Paige, 5 stars
I received a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review. Camden is on the run moving from city to city just to stay alive. While his friend Mason and Mason's men are trying to find out who is trying to kill Him. One of the people watching Camden is Brooklyn, she is keeping her distance but can tell his pain and loneliness are real. She knows about pain and loneliness, after losing her sister, while their parents are blaming her and her brother Jason. While Camden thinks he doesn't deserve friends or even family, he meets Brooklyn by accident. And they are drawn together, maybe it is because they both know pain. She won't give in to him because she has read the file on him and his past. And he is feeling more that he has ever felt for any woman. Can they move past the feelings and stop whoever it is trying to kill him? Will she tell him the truth about who she really is and what she is doing? Can Brooklyn help him get his family and friends back? This is book 4 of the Gloves Off series and they keep getting better and better. You could read this one without reading the others but I wouldn't recommend it. You would be so lost. So pick up this series and meet the men and women of the Gloves Off series, you won't be disappointed. **Copy provided by the author in exchange for my honest review**
Fantastic! Really loved this story, wasn't sure I would as Camden comes across as an arrogant asshole (especially in Ryley and Ash's story), and I didn't think I would ever grow to like him, however I LOVE him now. The story was sooooo enjoyable to read, I was hooked from the very beginning, and just couldn't get enough of it. Camden really met his match in Brooklyn and it was great to catch up with Pax, Gabby, Ryley and Ashleigh too.
Although I didn't realise when I started reading this series how interconnected the characters are, not just in this series, but in other L.P. Dover books, so have unfortunately read them out of sequence. This however has not dimmed my enjoyment of these books at all. I just wish I had come across this author earlier, and therefore read them in order, but will certainly be reading the books I've missed out on after I have finished this series.
I would definitely recommend this story, and if you have read No Limit, and want to read more about Jason and his sister Brooklyn, this is certainly the book for you. However you may want to start at the beginning of this series just so you can really appreciate what a dickhead Camden was to begin with!!!
"I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads"
This is an excellent addition to the series, and it was definitely time to get Camden's story. I really appreciated the glimpses into other characters' storylines too - especially towards the end. This is a series which I shall reread in its entirety when the next book is released, as I think the experience would be even richer.
As much as I am a fan of MMA, I really enjoyed the drama and the action which was based elsewhere. There were some wonderful moments of humour, some very thoughtful quiet times, deep understanding and passion. It was an all-night read for me; I couldn't put it down till the very last page.
I have LOVED this series to date and Camden's story rounded out that group's beautiful circle of friendships:) Camden , oh Camden, I am SO HAPPY that you found your very own happiness and who better than Brooklyn. This story flowed very nicely and had minimal "drama" and "angst" but the emotions I felt for Cam and B were at maximum strength:)
The last 10-15% of the book was my favorite because we got to see all the characters interact together and share some extra special moments..... Oh gosh, it was a truly great and deserving ending!
Congrats to L.P. Dover on another home run in this series:)
I’ve read this book multiple times and this book is one of my go to reads of the Gloves Off Series but I’ve never actually gotten around to posting a review so here goes. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved the connection between Camden and Brooklyn. Camden is on the run as helped Mason take down Scar and the Dark Side underground fighting ring so it’s not safe for him to stay in California since Scar vowed to get retribution. Even though him and his twin Ryley had a falling out he doesn’t want Scar to use his wee niece and nephew to get to him so that’s what makes him go on the run as he didn’t want too as fighters aren’t used to running but for he did to protect them.
Brooklyn is an undercover cop who works for Mason and has had the job protecting Camden for the last four months but Mason decides that it’s time to head back to home to Charlotte so she can have help watching him and it’s time that she go home and deal with everything even if it’s the last thing she wants to do. Her and her younger sister Braylen were in a car accident, the car caught on fire and Jason their brother was first on the scene and he saved Brooklyn as Braylen had already passed away before he arrived. The completely horrible thing is that their parents blame him for rescuing the wrong daughter as Braylen was their favourite and perfect in their eyes and the only reason they still talk to Brooklyn is because she looks so much like her sister. Brooklyn and Jason both have physical reminders from that night as the car caught fire, Jason’s whole back in completely scarred as he shielded Brooklyn with his body as much as he could. While Brooklyn was grieving Braylen she pushed her boyfriend Blake away as she also didn’t want him to see her scars. He ended up cheating on her which is a complete a*sehole move anyway but it makes it so much worse after everything she’s been through but really if Blake really cared about her he would’ve waited however long for her or at least tried to talk to her so since Blake is part of her team she’s also worried about having to deal with him when she heads home.
Camden and her end up becoming friends as Mason keeps on throwing them together which Brooklyn isn’t happy about as she knows exactly what he’s done in the past even if she sees that he’s changed in the four months that she’s watched him, and Scar is still after him so she doesn’t want to be caught in the crossfire but Mason knows that it’ll be the easiest way to protect him. Brooklyn is exactly the type of women that Camden needs as she challenges him, she’s not afraid to fight or call him on his sh*t. I liked how their relationship progressed naturally and it didn’t feel rushed or forced. I was on the edge of my seat trying to work out who the traitor was on Mason and Brooklyn’s team as it’s such a betrayal that someone close to them would work with Scar but for them to get away with it while working under Mason it’s just goes to show what an accomplished liar they are. I liked getting more of Mason, Gabby and Pax. I also loved meeting Blake and Jason even though Blake is a complete a*sehole, I’m really looking forward to reading their stories in the Armed & Dangerous Series once I’ve finished reading Kyle’s story next. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and author to everyone.
I knew after reading about Ryley and Ash's story Camden was not done and boy did L.P. Dover blew me away with his story. On all counts Camden is a bad guy but we see more of him right now and just wow. Seeing him all alone actually broke my heart to see how low he has come. I mean gone is his fame, looks and most of all his family don't want anything to do with him. He knows he's done bad things but yet Brooklyn see's a side of him no one has seen before. Not only does he try to stay himself but there's a feeling about him that he wants to be seen again yet afraid of what he will become again. The attraction is all there but also a friendship Camden has never had before with an actual girl. I loved seeing Camden fighting not just for redemption in his life but also fighting for a love he never knew he wanted. All in all this is a great series that just wowed me in every book, loved it.
"I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own."
this whole series is getting to me. my heart really cant handle it. everyone deserves a second chance. and yes Cam clearly has alot to work for. im proud on how much he has changed since the first book. i was surprised to see it but since i knew the names of the books before i started reading i knew there was gonna be a big change. Brooke was the best thing for him and im so happy on how his ended turned out. the ending through me threw a loop but i really enjoyed it. im sad to only have one book left but i cant wait to hear what happens with Kyle.
I disked Camden when I opened this book. I just couldn't see how he was gonna be redeemable. But by the end, I loved him as much as his twin. Ryley and Camden are my favourites of the whole series!! Brooklyn is one of the best heroines I've ever read. Shes amazing. And I love the twists from this book. Now off to see if Kyle can be redeemed.
Never thought I would want to see Camden redeemed after what he did to his twin and Ashleigh but I did. Forgiveness is alive in this book of love, and redemption as Camden finds his way to the only woman who made a difference in changinging his life.
Another great addition to a series I’m loving. Loved how suspenseful this story was and how the lives of previous characters continue with each new addition.
Camden's Redemption is book four in L.P. Dover's Gloves Off Series, and I have been waiting for this story for so long. I will admit that I wasn't Camden's biggest fan after everything that he did to Ryley and Ash, but I was honestly curious how he was going to be able to make up for it and become the person that I knew he could be. L.P. Dover did a great job of showing that even the biggest jerks can make up for their mistakes, and that they deserve a second chance. Camden won me over in this book, and I have to say he has become one of my favorites from this series.
Camden Jameson had always been in his twin's shadow growing up and when they got older and joined the UFC it remained the same. After betraying his brother Ryley and Ryley's girl Ash, he turned to the Dark Side. The Dark Side was a place where anything goes, and Camden did some horrible things but he tried to make things better. Now that he has left the Dark Side, he has a powerful enemy who will stop at nothing to make sure that Camden pays with his life. But Brooklyn Avery has been working undercover to make sure that Camden is protected while they hunt down those that would kill Camden. She has been watching him from afar for months, but when the danger gets too close they are sent back to Brooklyn's hometown where the rest of her team can help keep watch. But when Brooklyn and Camden come face to face, neither one of them expect the connection that quickly forms between them. But with danger and secrets surrounding them, will they be able to have a chance at a future together and can Camden finally find his redemption?
I have been far from Camden's biggest fan, and for so long I didn't understand his actions. While I still don't support what he did, I do see what lead him there and I understand him so much better. He really has changed over the course of this series, and I knew it would take a lot for me to be able to see past what he had done. But I really thought that with Brooklyn's help as well as him finally taking responsibility for himself, that he was really able to become a better person. I really liked who he was in this book, and I was so glad that we actually got to see the good that was inside him. He was great with Brooklyn, and I liked that he wanted to be better and different for her as well as himself. Brooklyn was so great, and she was exactly what Camden needed. She was smart and strong and didn't let him get away with crap, but she was also really supportive and encouraging. She was always in his corner, and helped him to realize that he was capable of being better. She helped him see that he needed to try harder with his brother and that he shouldn't give up on getting forgiveness. These two were opposites in a lot of ways, and yet they also both had so many things that were similar. Brooklyn had experienced a lot of pain as well, and it was something that helped her bond with Camden. These two connected on every single level, and really were the perfect match for one another.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I thought that it was well written and offered so much to fans of this series. I liked how balanced it was, and thought that it had just enough suspense and action to keep things interesting, but that it didn't take over the story. Camden and Brooklyn's relationship was the heart of this story, and I loved seeing these two get to know one another and fall hard. The chemistry between them was great, but I also just loved seeing these two getting to know one another. Camden needed someone to believe in him, and Brooklyn did from the start. If you haven't read this series yet, I would highly recommend that you check it out. While it isn't necessary to start at the beginning, I would suggest reading these in order because you really get to see where each of these characters has been and there is so much of the story that continues from one book to the next. I honestly cannot wait to get the next book in this series, even though it is the last one. I know that I will definitely be looking for more from L.P. Dover in the future, as she always delivers a solid story that I know I will enjoy.
