The protégé of a world-renowned artist, sculptress Phoenix Banister dreams of one day taking the art world by storm. Few people know that Phoenix has a secret that could ruin her career before it even starts. To protect that secret, Phoenix lives a very quiet life-and that means no scandal and no romance. But her well-ordered world is turned upside down when she meets Morgan Grayson, a powerfully handsome attorney. Morgan isn't the kind of man a woman can ignore-no matter how hard she tries...
An avid art collector, Morgan deeply appreciates beauty-especially when it comes in the form of a woman like Phoenix. With her elegant smile and soft, toffee-colored skin, Phoenix takes Morgan's breath away the moment he sees her. But he senses that the woman he is falling in love with has something to hide-something not even his soft kisses and tender embrace can reveal. When Morgan finally discovers the truth about her past, will he still think Phoenix is the woman of his dreams?

The story plot was pretty good but the narrator from the audiobook and his attempt at disguising his voice. The validity of the plot was very believable because of how people interact in the world today. Since it's a romance plot, they're will always be a damsel in distress and a hero to save her. I liked the story but wished that the audition the narrators to read the book.
Loved this second installment in the Grayson series! So good I read it in one day! What I love most about this story is that it was not consumed with sex scenes. It was an actual story and a good one at that! Enjoyed seeing the love grow between Morgan and Phoenix! I feel in love with Morgan while reading!
I absolutely love the Grayson Family series then add the Grayson Family and Friends to follow up. I think I have read each book in both series and they kept getting better and of course they are interchangeable so in each book, you still got to hear about how another part of the family is doing. Will have to make sure I add the others to my home library in tribute to Mrs. Ray.
I'm surprised so many people like this book. I wish there were more reviews on it. I didn't really care for it. This book is second in a series but I read it first. It's also my first read by Francis Ray. I'm not sure if those things play a part in my not being a fan of the book. But I really felt like the love between the two MC was codependent (female) and controlling (male). It didn't feel organic to me.
I didn't read any of the other Grayson novels, but you can best believe I'm trying to get my hands on every one of them now. I enjoyed the romance and the closeness of the Grayson/Falcon family and the friends that they included in the story. It was just a quick, sweet love story. Ruth Grayson is a woman who gets what she wants!
LOVIN THE GRAYSON FAMILY, MORGAN AND PHOENIX ARE AN EXCEPTIONAL COUPLE. EVEN THOUGH THEY STARTED OFF A LITTLE ROCKY THEIR UNDYING LOVE SAW THEM THROUGH TO A LIFETIME OF FOREVER.
Simply beautiful! You can't help but fall in love with the Grayson family. I'm a hopeless romantic and the passion with which Francis Ray writes her novels always leaves me feeling good. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
I am so loving this series & find myself looking forward to what Ruth Grayson & her sister in law Felicia Falcon have up their sleeves next! NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF A MOTHER :-)
I would have given this book one star if it wasn't for Morgan and his siblings. Phoenix is a weak woman. Her name did not reflect her personality. At certain points in the book you have sympathy for her but as time goes on you lose your compassion. By the time she confesses her mistake to Morgan, you don't care. Morgan likes the underdog and chose an underdog to fall in love with.
Andre was horrible person/master manipulator and she still put up with him. After 7 years, I would have let my secret come out and handle the consequences instead of living in constant fear and uncertainty. Phoenix never once thought, I can stand on my own. The women in Morgan's family are strong, resilient, and bold. The fact that he picked someone the opposite of them is a statement to him needing to save Phoenix.
He was fighting for her even when she still wanted to leave this man after the ring and supporting her following her dream in New York. Morgan, his family, and friends provided all the support and love she needed to be strong and she still couldn't see it. I didn't care about their HEA.
This was a typical romance story, fueled by a beautiful protagonist and a gorgeous man, who does not want to get married, but falls in love anyway. It was generic, but nice. It also had a strong family element, which is a plot line of the series. No strong sexual content or language
Her fear turned into her strength. The love of a strong determined man who gave her strength and resolve showed her the way to her talent and to his heart.
After reading the first in this series & liking it a lot I'm disappointed with this book. There wasn't much story. I didn't like Morgan or Phoenix very much. There didn't seem to be anything but physical attraction & a lot of "the look in his/her eyes" telling. Morgan was too possessive, pushy & I guess like a lawyer but ew. And Phoenix with her "I'll ruin his career" thinking had me rolling my eyes. The whole thing just read false to me & none of it earned like in the first book. But I'm about to buy the third in the series so it didn't turn me off that much. Plus I did finish it.
Part 2 of the Graysons of New Mexico Series. In which the 2nd son is targeted for marriage by his mother. In another romantic yet unrealistic story the imagination is intrigued and carried by this couple. Looking forward already to the other stories about this family.
I loved the book. I still hate the mother, her ass is all types of creepy running back ground checks on women. I wish one of their marriages would end just to show her she shouldn't be setting up her children.
