Heaven is closed, and the Apocalypse is at hand. The dead continue to walk the earth while the living face biblical plagues. Now that Clarke is gone, Micah’s dream of an ordinary life has never been further out of his reach. And as the Antichrist’s grip on humanity tightens, Micah begins to understand that he must embrace his legacy if he ever wants to see Clarke again.
The Vestige Series is a two-book Horror/Apocalyptic series.
Vestige has been among the first dystopian YA book that I've read and ever since then I couldn't wait to see the whole picture of this story. Now Scion is out and I had a chance to read it. Luckily I can say that waiting payed off.
The first book in this series was fascinating for so many things. It's the first time that I've seen the apocalypse happening instead of just seeing the consequences of it. When people randomly started disappearing it was a sign that something bad is about to happen. Clark and Micah are now apart and both must fight to end all of this, to end the evil.
Firstly, I should say that some readers might have troubles with this book because it has a lot of connections with religion and the Bible itself. It depends from person to person I guess how they will experience everything that's going on in this book.
Secondly, this book was much darker from the previous one, which is something I really enjoyed and which was a perfect fit for the story. The situation at hand was really serious and dramatic and the picture of the whole environment helped in a way that it created the fitting atmosphere.
Lastly, both Micah and Clark were much different. They both seemed older and much more scared but still ready to fight and be brave. With help of the others Micah worked really hard and when the whole story got the full picture I must say I was really surprised as I didn't expect it. Only thing that I was missing here was the romance. You could feel that in both of them but I missed them together.

Summary:
I was looking forward to the second book in this series and while it wasn't a bad book it didn't quite live up to the first book in the series. The story did follow along continuing where the first book left off, but the characters didn't show any growth as the plot unfolded. There was good interaction between Clark and the others, but the plot line felt flat. In the end it was very difficult to know the difference between the good and the evil characters. It felt like the angels were just following prerecorded orders without any compassion or restraint when they were willing to use people to hurt others to get the information they needed. As the veil between good and evil blurred, Clark was left on his own to choose which a side, but the options were not as clear was you would think. In the end, the story was average and didn't live up to what I expected. It was worth the read just to find out what happened to the characters.
I won this novel in the First Read's giveaway! I was very excited to receive it and enjoyed reading it when I had the time to! An apocalyptic scenario that may be the most terrifying end yet. I absolutely love Hanrahan's voice and characters. I will definitely be reading more from this author soon!
What an awesome second book in the series! I won this novel in the First Reads giveaway and after reading the first book I was ready to dive in! The characters are just as intense, I was entertained. The ending seemed a bit disappointing, but now I'm just looking forward to the third book!
If there is not another book in this series I am very disappointed with the way this book ended. As it is I am disappointed with it cause the ending is lame if there is gonna be another book than maybe my opinion will change
