Quick Look Into What Made Rachel Hatch The Woman She Is
We have seen Rachel Hatch on the battlefield and in the desert seeking answers from long ago. Here we get to feel her strength, watch her toughness and endurance as she is put through a series of tasks to show her ex-Leader that she Is Ready to return to her unit. Rachel is a fierce warrior, and we are invited to watch just a small part of her life, leaving us waiting for her next adventure!
Rachel Hatch passes the first time but is being tested again- Someone is going to the extreme to make her to fail, hoping her injuries she had sustained will help in the process. Except, her father had taught her life lessons as a child she will never forget.
Excellent short story. Rachel Hatch is a captivating and relatable character. I have read two books and two short stories, and can’t wait for the 3rd book to be released. Just a warning, they are very hard to put down once you’ve started.
The story was believeable and reflected a sign of the times. Hatch showed the kind of grit necessary to endure two such course challenges. A page turned for sure!
This is the second of three short stories that explain what happened to Rachel Hatch in Afghanistan and particularly how she came to separate herself from her beloved Banshee unit. Here are the order and publishing dates: #0.5 Fractured, published 11/24/2019 #1.5 Proving Ground, published 07/24/2020 #5.5 The Gauntlet, published 11/24/2020
I believe the numbers are the order in which they are meant to be read. I read them all in one gulp because I had no self-control to do otherwise, and I’ve already read the first seven books in the series.
This second of the short story trilogy takes Rachel deeper into the extreme test she must perform in order to prove that her catastrophic injuries received in Afghanistan cannot remove her from the Army. It is harrowing and a seat-of-the-pants exciting read. I devoured it.
I did find a lone error, nothing egregious, simply noted: “’Fall in!’ Boomed one of the cadre members.” The verb, “boomed” should not be capitalized. Perhaps, “’Fall in!’ boomed one of the cadre members.” Looks like a word processing software error.
I rated this short story 5 stars. It is well-written; the story grabs hold and does not let go of the reader.

This short story segment gives focused information about Hatch's strong character and unbreakable determination. Few candidates make it through Special Forces "Selection" once, and now after her debilitating injury Rachel Hatch is back to prove herself again. However, this time her former leader wants her to fail and comes to make it impossible for her.
These shorter reads give important insights that expand the series and develop the character. I enjoy these quick reads on a character I'm following to learn important backstory insights too important to force into a longer work as a flashback. Besides, it's fun to take a fast break with an engaging read.
I look forward to more additions long or short in this series.
I was always a fan of the Jack Reacher books and was intrigued by the Rachel Hatcher series by L. T. Ryan as a female Jack Reacher-type character. These books have not disappointed me. This short story is about Rachel's trying to return to her old unit after a terrible battle, where she was injured and lost one member. The physical fitness testing and the group dynamic are clearly brought to bear here with this wonderful short story. It is a nice read if you are interested in following Rachel's development and career.
Another will written military action adventure thriller short story by L. T. Ryan and Brian Shea (Rachel Hatch). Rachel is going through the proving grounds to qualify for joining the team again but her old team sergeant is standing in the way. I would recommend this novella to readers looking for a quick action packed read. Enjoy the adventure of reading or listening to Alexa read books 📚. 2022👒😇😮
Ryan creates the environment, stress and characters associated with a necessarily tough military school. He also creates understandably the character needed by the candidates most notably Hatch and Bustamente. And Hatch is correct it is not just the physical that gets the candidate through it’s the mental attitude that brings them through at the end. Hatch seems to have what’s necessary.
This is the 2nd prequel book leading up to the first full book. We'll written and gives us the opportunity to see just how strong, persistent, obstinate, smart. Hatch is by what's she's endured. She has as many skills as almost any of the male thriller protagonists. The only thing I've noticed so far is that she hasn't trained in any hand to hand combat, and I'd think that would be important to have.
Rachel Hatch has to prove herself again worthy of of passing the selection text for Special Forces. She has passed it before. After an injury in combat, the doctors deemed her at 60%. A career ending diagnosis. She is out to prove them wrong. Against all odds. And she does! Excellent novella! Enjoyed!
I just got nestled into the story & it abruptly ended…I was intrigued & kept wondering how I missed this book as I journey through the Hatch series. Now I’m just wondering more. What the heck was that!
If you thought basic training was tough, this will change that line of thinking! Hatch has to prove herself qualified again and with an extra burden provided by a former team leader.
Hatch showed determination and perseverance to complete the tasks required to complete the course. The odds were against her, but she proved they she could do it. Reading this gives you a better insight of Rachel Hatch. Happy reading! 😊
Just a shameful money grab! This may be a lead in for some other plot, but it sure could have been developed into a more fulfilling story other than the cheap bridge note that it is. The last of Ryan's tripe for me.
