5 stars does not do this book justice, at all.
I have loved, and claimed, Devon since the very first book. There was something about him, that drew me in, and made me tell everyone, including Julia, that he is all mine. So I had very high expectations for his story. I have to say, I was not let down, even though I, not so secretly, hoped Julia wrote me in to steal him away from Anya. After reading his story, I love him even more, if that's possible.
There isn't as much fighting/action in this book, as there is in the others, but it's not lacking at all. Andrew is still up to his wicked ways and being a "shithead".
Devon is the white dragon of the Clan. He is a beautiful and powerful dragon.
"The white dragons are warriors born of the sun and the moon. The Universe shines favorably on all Her winged warriors, but the ones born with white scales hold both the favor of the day and of the night. They are a powerful sign of purity and wisdom combined with tremendous spiritual energy. Their calm exterior hides the heart of the beast and allows them to take those that oppose them by surprise. Loyalty and strength of will are their two greatest attributes and they use those to protect all they hold dear. Love and devotion run deeper as the years pass. To mate a white dragon means to accept all that they are, and honor the power shared between mates."
Anya is an amazing character also, even if I'm so completely jealous of her! When Devon is having his moments of being a total alpha "Neanderthal", she sure knows how to put him in his place.
"Act like a Neanderthal and throw me over your shoulder again and see what other tricks I have up my sleeve. Paybacks are a bitch, dragon man."
I love Devon and I absolutely adore Anya. This book could not be better. They are perfect for each other. But, then again, "The Universe Does Not Make Mistakes."
I'm even more curious about little Sydney after this book. I hav my theories, but I'm keeping them to myself...for now.

There simply aren't enough stars to do this installment justice!!!
This is Devon and Anya's story and it's gona rock your world!!!!
Devon is the powerful white dragon. Not only beautiful but gets his power from both the sun and the moon!
He knows that the universe has made this beautiful woman just for him. He knows this before he even knows her name.
Anya is under a curse, unconscious and calling out with her mind for help. Devon can hear her, and so can Sydney! I was just captivated by this story and could not put it down. it is constantly one thing after another. I barely had time to take in one twist before the next turn came. There are some subtle clues as to future happenings if you catch them. And one giant mind blowing event that just floored me, So totally unprecedented, that the whole Clan was enthralled. But wait!!!! the very end,, yes it's a cliff hanger, and it's a whopper!
I am already looking for the next installment!!!!

Holy Moses!!
This book is the fifth in The Dragon Guard series and is by far the best one yet. Devon is an Alpha male with a capital A! The way he loves Anya makes me happy to my very soul. He is sexy, protective, sweet, gentle, sexy, funny, and absolutely perfect for Anya. Did I mention funny and sexy? There is just something toe curling about a white dragon!!
I loved Anya so much. She is gentle and kind too, but takes no crap from Devon! I love a woman who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to say so. I laughed so many times at their antics, worried so much that something bad was going to happen to keep them apart, was shocked to my toes at the big surprise, and sighed with absolute happiness at their mating.
Julia Mills gets better at her craft with each book and I wait with baited breath for the next one!!

Devon is quite passionate when his woman makes him happy, "yes, Devon Walsh, I would be honored to be your mate." Quicker than her eyes could track, Devon was standing with her in his arms, kissing her, branding her as his." Anya is her own woman, "you are my mate and I am yours but that does not mean that you get to dictate everything I do. Sioban and Kyra found a way to remove the Concealment Spell and I wanted it gone as soon as possible, so we did the ritual. Now you can deal with it or not." I mean the girl is feisty, "act like a neanderthal and throw me over your shoulder again and see what other tricks I have up my sleeve. Paybacks are a b****, dragon man." I can't wait for the next book.

Devon is the calmest of the dragons. He's referred to as the Zen one. That all goes out the window when he finds his mate Anya in a magically induced coma.
With the help of his mother, Kyra, and Sydney, Anya awakens, and she and Devon begin the mating process.
Along the way, there are many ups and downs, and a secret that shocks them all.

This is a paranormal romance with a touch of mystery. This is the fifth book in the Dragon Guard series. This book does pick up from the last book, but could be read as a stand alone. This book has so many unexpected outcomes, it was an exciting story. I recommend this for adults only being there is some steamy scenes. Another book with a hunk of a dragon, Devon. He has a good heart and a powerful soul. Anya is a mysterious woman, who soon realizes her life is full of unexpected surprises. Together these two are a powerful combination. I can not wait for more Julia Mills.
This is the story about Devon Walsh who is a dragon guardsman. His mother is a powerful healer, and his father was a strong guardsman. He is usually the calm one in the group, well until he found his mate. Devon was in a state when he didn't know anything about his mate, she was in a coma, and he stayed by her side. Devon believes the Universe does not make mistakes, he will bide his time and wait for her to reveal all that is in store for him and his mate. And the Universe has a huge surprise in for them both.
Anya Sloane is a head strong, independent woman, whom has been through hell recently. She was left for dead at a hospital in a coma. She has a fight in store, but she needs to see the man whom invades her thoughts. With the help of the sexy man Devon, she awakens, but she doesn't remember much about her life. Saved by Her Dragon is book five in the Dragon Guards series by Julia Mills. I have only read Her Dragon To Slay #1 and Her Dragon’s Fire #2; before I picked this one up for review, this book can be read as a stand alone, but best read in order. I felt like I was missing some things reading this one out of order and was a little lost at the beginning even with reading the first two books, so I will be going back and reading the others to get a full feel of the Dragon Guards world.
Devon is the white dragon of the Clan. Anya is something special. I enjoyed both these characters.
Saved by Her Dragon does not have as much fighting and action in this book as the others. Andrew is still their and up to his wicked ways planning vengeance towards his brethren and all who helped them. I was intrigued in how the author developed Devon and Anya’s relationship. These two where perfectly matched for each other. It was different to read about them not having sex until their matting ceremony, which was new and I liked how the author portrayed their mating as being much more then just a normal mating in that it has a significant impact for everyone. Ms. Mills also added some surprise development/twist and I’m very curious to see how this plays out and to learn more. I loved the little girl Sydney! I really need to read the book where she comes into play, because she was just adorable and I’m so curious about her and her abilities.
I enjoyed this story, seeing how Devon and Anya came together, and finding out how special Anya truly is. This is a fun adventure. If you enjoy reading about dragons I recommend giving this series a try. We have some very sexy dragon shifters, interesting plot, characters, and world that keep us entertained.

This book started off confusing for me. Probably because I hadn't had the pleasure of reading the first 4 books. It started off with Devon at the hospital. Devon felt Anya calling out to him. Finally he finds her. And he is waiting for her to wake up from the coma she has been in the past month. Devon's mother finds out he was keeping Anya a secret and she comes to the hospital to help. Her and another family member Decide they need to find out what is keeping her in this coma.
Anya was finally was waken from her coma. Anya is amazing because she draws people to her. Without them even knowing who she is the beauty of her is what draws them. This book is amazing there is tons of Suspense, Its even a thriller. to much action packed but such a fantastic read.
For me, after I was able to understand what was going on .. It was truly a amazing read. I was wrapped in a world of Make believe and wishing I was there with them. Anya and Devon's story and chemistry makes you want to believe anything is possible. Plus if you want your e-reader to cause its own steam this book will make sure it fogs to the point of getting something to wipe it down with!
I do think this book was worth going out and picking up. Honestly Since I haven't read the other books I will have to get book 1-4 to catch myself up . So If you Love the paranormal (dragon super hot shifters) Then this is the book for you. Julia will hook you and make you Love every book she writes. At least that is the way It happened for me!

Anya has faught to find her way out of the black fog and now that she's awake she finds there's more to her than she ever knew and it's up to her to trust her newfound friends and mate to help her uncover the secrets surrounding her.
Devon is the Zen master of the guys, but when it comes to Anya he goes caveman and will do anything to keep her safe. But going caveman on a woman who's very indipendant causes some very fun friction when it come to the dragon.
Anya is a spitfire, she goes with the flow, but won't let herself get trampled on in the process. She's sweet and caring and has only ever wanted a family and now she's having fun getting more than she ever bargined for in that department.
I enjoyed the story and seeing how they each worked through the problems of their new mating. The storyline also keeps you on edge wondering what Andrew will be up to next. Fun adventure filled series.

Saved by her Dragon, book five in the Dragon Guard series by Julia Mills:
Julia Mills has done it again! At the end of the last book, I was wondering what kind of mate would be worthy of our oh so tasty, dreamy Devon.
Anya does not disappoint. She is strong, fierce, and loyal, and a special kind of special. Her magic within surprised me, but I can't tell you why (in case you have not read the series, What is wrong with you, get started on it right away)
Little Sydney stole hearts and we see our favorite Dragon Guard families again in this book. I loved that we got to know Devon's mother a little better in this one and that the couple had to fight for alone time.
I was only slightly disappointed that the traitor eluded our heroes once again, but I have faith that the little shithead will get what's coming to him!
The end has me sitting on the edge of my desk, willing Mrs. Mills to write faster!
Overall, a wonderful read and well worth the time and money. I do not hesitate to deliver a five star rating to this book.

Devon knew the woman in the hospital bed was his mate. Knew it with all his heart. It didn't matter that he didn't know her name, or where she was from, all that mattered was keeping her safe and seeing her healed.
Giving in to family pressure, he finalled called in his pack's healer, who also happens to be his mother, to see if she can heal his love. With Siobhann, Sam and Kyra on the case, he's sure it won't take long to get his mate to wake.
This is a fast paced romance, filled with danger and intrigue, and a happily ever after.
In the version of the book that I reviewed there were a few grammatical and typographical errors that briefly took me out of the story, but they did not diminish my enjoyment of this book.

With each book that comes out in the Dragon Guard series just keeps getting more amazing and just so mind blowing awesome!!!! So that said this fifth book is about Devon and how he find his mate the one the Universe made for him. And the other dragons and their mates are so wonderful in this book to. When Devon find his mate she in a coma and everyone trying to find out why. So as it goes she is awaking and that when Devon Zen world goes upside down. Their love for each other is so amazing. But the is something really special about Anya which is Devon mate but they have yet to find what it is anyone who come near her just love her. I have to say when I found out how special she is that really did shock me but its so freaking awesome what she is. To find out you have to read the book it's so so so so a must read!!!!!

I really enjoy this series & Mills is a better writer with each book. I really did love the story. Devon is one of those characters that I have liked since the beginning and wondered more about because he was kind of the quiet one. But I really enjoyed him immensely. And I really love Anya.
There are a few ways that this one was different...and better... Since it broke "the pattern" of her series. Because honestly a lot of the previous books are very similar to each other in plotline.
But this one bugged me in a few ways. The chapters were waaaaaayyyyy too long.
The pacing was therefore slow & the couple took forever to finally have sex. That was definitely different in this book and the others in the series. Problem I had with that is it didn't make sense to the characters. They had already said that they loved each other. He had already asked her to be his mate. And it seemed to me several times they were going to or things could've gone that direction but they were interrupted by another character. That got old really fast.
I suppose if there was a good reason not either party's side for the lack of it, it would've been better but it wasn't well motivated to me.
There were MULTIPLE scenes that ended in a missed opportunity for intimacy with the hero & heroine. That disappointed me in a way.
Don't get me wrong, I don't read books only for sex. I love a good storyline. It just seemed very out of place considering the rest of the books in the series, and considering the "place" the characters were already at with each other. That being said, this one really shouldn't be considered in the genre "erotic romance" like the other books in the series. Wasn't spicy like they are.

With each Dragonshifter that finds his mate, it brings us one step closer to the end of this wonderful series. I love, love, love this series and Devon's story is no exception. Devon finds his mate under unique circumstances. Her voice calls to him and when he finds she is in a coma. It is soon discovered that it is not because of a medical problem but rather a magical problem. The evil Andrew, who is determined to destroy them all due to a misguided view that they abandoned him to his death, is somehow responsible for her condition. There is deep magic involved in keeping her in a coma, removing her memories and hiding her true self. As Anya begins to remember, it is soon discovered that everything is not as it seems and the secret that magic has been protecting comes as a complete surprise.
I love the magical nature of this series that blends so perfectly and so smoothly with the human world to make it an easy world to escape into. It captivates you with its world of dragons, legends and magic but yet still has the need for conventional human creations like hospitals and Harley's. It is very easy to get lost in its story and the characters, with Devon and Anya's story so completely different from the previous Dragonshifters' stories in the series. The vulnerability of Anya when we first meet her and yet she demonstrates a remarkable amount of trust in Devon and acceptance of who he is. Whilst Devon, who has always found great humour in the over protective nature of the rest of his clan with their mates, suddenly finds himself wanting to protect her at all costs, turning him into a big pussy cat where she is concerned.
The ongoing storyline involving Andrew continues throughout but not as strongly as in the previous, as it concentrates on the importance of Anya to the clan. Andrew must never be under estimated as his corrupted mind continues to plot against his family. I can't wait to see where this series goes next.

This is my favorite Dragon Guard book yet. Julia’s books just keep getting better & better.

He knows she is special because not only is she made for him but they are already able to mind speak, something that is not usually possible until the after the mating ceremony.

I have read and followed all of Julia's Dragon Guardsmen and Devon's story was an unexpected one! Each one can be read as a standalone but there are characters that will be in the story that were introduced in previous books. So I do suggest reading them all in order but it isn't necessary. To be honest once you read one you will want to read them all anyways *wink*
As hot as these books are and can be, I thoroughly enjoyed the pace of this book. Not so quick to bed, but the love and angst were strong and pulled me in. I think having it drawn out made me love Devon and Anya more. They came close to Aidan & Grace, and those who know me knows that I LOVED Aidan! Devon is so compassionate, strong and it is very evident that him and Anya were meant to be.
Another aspect that I loved was learning more about the clan and their history. We always have some kind of a history lesson in each book but I finally see everything coming together...well almost. There are still some things to revealed I am sure, but I feel more and more that we are coming to a point in the series where a bigger picture will be presented.
As much as I loved the pace I kept waiting. Waiting for the "OMG" moment and boy did I get it!! I must have read the last few chapters at record speed because I was on the edge of my seat wondering what the hell was happening and thought my heart was going to stop. Julia certainly tugged on some of my emotions there!
And lets not forget the preview into her next book at the end! This is a preview that tops all of her other previews. Things are about to go crazy!!!

Once again Ms. Mills sucks you and doesn't let you go!! This is I think the best of all the books thus far. I loved the connection Devon and Anya had with one another. Even though these books have the kinda "insta love" feel, this one in particular flowed extremely well making it completely believable. I also liked that Devon and Anya fooled around some but waited until after the ceremony to consummate their joining. I totally loved the awesome spin on who Anya was, that one event made this story fantastic! I have to say it crossed my mind, but I didn't really know for sure until it happened. If you're wondering what I am talking about and I have confused you, I would suggest picking up this whole series and giving a read. Ms. Mills writes a truly fantastic and entertaining story that will have you turning pages until the wee hours of the morning! I have thoroughly enjoyed each installment of this series and can not wait until the next release. I am ready for the villain to be done with and gone, I would also like to see more characters introduced and each of them finding their mates (especially Royce's family). I can honestly say this series could go on and on just by adding new characters, villains, and mysteries. I will be waiting with bated breath until the next release.

The simplest thing to say is that this book is another jewel in the crown of Julia Mills and her Dragon Guards. This is the story of Devon and Anya who we met briefly at the very end of the previous book, For The Love Of Her Dragon. Devon is the Zen Man of the Dragons so it was good to see him get shaken up by Anya and it was ever better to see her responses to him “being a Neanderthal!” She is independent, funny and strong, confident in herself and refuses to let Devon get away with certain behaviour. Her way of punishing him certainly made me laugh!
All of the friends we have made previously make an appearance again and Syd is becoming more and more of a paradox, open yet mysterious, a total enigma.
Julia is indeed a wicked, wicked author though in the fact that Andrew gets so close to being caught and yet each time seems to escape by the skin of his teeth. Just when you think that he will finally take responsibility for something, he goes and turns it around and blames someone else again. He is a really piece of work and that is not a compliment.
Another fantastic piece of writing that will draw you into the Dragon Guards’ world once more. And I just want to say that Anya’s secret (don’t worry, I won’t reveal it!) had me tearing up with a lump in my throat. The reactions of everyone, what the secret means, just sheer perfection.

I believe that each book in The Dragon Guard Series is better than the last. The descriptive words that Ms. Mills uses can transport the reader into the world of Dragons and wizards so effortlessly. Anya and Devon are perfect for each other. Of course, being a hot, smexy dragon has nothing to do with the attraction that Anya feels toward Devon........Right?
The reader meets Anya in the hospital. She is unconscious but physically unharmed. Devon senses she is his mate the moment he sees her laying on a gurney. No one knows her name or who brought her to the hospital. Devon is determined to be there when she does wake up. For Anya, waking up is scary. She can't even remember her name or what happened to her. It soon becomes clear to others of the Clan that there is strong magic involved in what has happened to Anya. Together, they will help her. Along the way, there are secrets revealed that stun everyone. A prophesy coming to light.

Devon Walsh had finally found his mate but she was in a coma and it had been for him only 12 days but he did not know how long it had been for her. Anya Sloane had been abducted by a couple men and when she had finally woke up she did not know where she was or who she was let alone what her past was. But with love and magic she was able to find the answers and find her mate.
I have read the other 4 books in the series so I had an idea that this book was going to be good but it still blew my mind away that the author packed it with adventure, drama, suspense and romance from start to finish. The characters were great and so was the story line flow.
This book and series is a must read/must have for any paranormal romance book reader. This is for mature paranormal romance book readers because of sexual content in the story.

I had not read the four previous books before digging into this one, I could tell I was missing some story line and how and where the character fit together but I wasn't too lost and this story focuses more on Devon and Anya.
We pick up with Devon sitting in the hospital next to Anya (but he doesn't know her name yet), she seems to be lost and under the spell of magic. When they take her home to heal her, she comes out of her fog and into the arms of Devon and that's where the real mystery begins. Who is she? Why was she kidnapped and what else is she hiding?
While the Dragon Guards go on to fight their traitor we watch Anya bond with Devon's family. And we also get to see how strong willed she can be when Devon tries to enforce his Alpha ways. When Anya's secret is finally revealed it comes full circle and is amazing.
I loved this book, story and their love story. I couldn't put it down and I loved every minute. A must read.

Devon, a powerful white dragon, doesn't know what is wrong with his newly found mate. Anya has been in a deep sleep and it is hard for Devon to stay by her side without doing something to help. As Anya regains conscious she finds herself adapting to having a mate. She knows they are meant to be together, but there is still something within Anya that is being blocked. As if healing wasn't enough, Andrew a traitor of the Dragons, is back and planning to do harm. Devon wants to be by his mates side, but with danger lurking he needs to protect his clan.
Great story, I have not read any of the other books in the series but found this easy to delve into. I liked the concept and could not wait until Devon and Anya could be mated. Had a few twists that I had not expected. Will definitely go back and read the first four books.

Loved this book. I really like shifter books and dragon shifters are one of my favorites. This is the first book I've read from this author and I really wish I had read the first 4 first but, I will now that I've read this one. I really liked the idea of a dragon guard and all the alpha type males that it possesses. I liked the twist this book took as to what she turned out to be. I like the bit of mystery in this story surrounding the bad guy and what he is going through with all his hate for them. I liked that even though he was an alpha male she still stood up to him and made him trust her judgement even though he protested the thought.

OMG Julia has outdone herself with this one. I couldn't believe the surprise twist she threw in.
Devon is the white dragon in the Dragon Guard series. He is the one they call the 'Zen'. Anya wants the man responsible for her being in a coma stopped. Devon wants Anya safe.
Andrew is up to his usual tricks and trouble in this book. (When is he gonna get his due?) Although their is not as much action and fighting in this book, Julia has done an amazing job with Devon & Anya's story. Now I need book 6...hoping for it for Christmas.
Devon is the white dragon in the Dragon Guard series. He is the one they call the 'Zen'. Anya wants the man responsible for her being in a coma stopped. Devon wants Anya safe.

What can I say about this.....WOW!!! It was a wonderful rollercoaster ride for the reader. Devon and Anya make the perfect couple...so sexy together. There is one secret in this book for all of you Dragon Guard fans....you'll be cheering and jumping up and down!!! Julia writes like no other...her characters pop off the page, and the reader is taken on a magical journey. You feel like you're part of their family. Outstanding job Miss Julia!!! I highly recommend it. I cannot wait until the next installment of this glorious series!!!

Thanks to Wicked Reads for a free book to read and review. I guessed the ending which makes me so pleased since I've read all the books! Plus the title helped me out a bit. Thanks so much for allowing this read, I enjoyed it. Anya at first was trapped in a magical coma, and Devon waited patiently at her side for her to wake up. He seemed to be a gentleman, and very endearing as he waited for her to awake. Then once she came awake.......whew. What a firecracker! Lol. Overall entertainment is four stars.

Julia does it again! If you haven't read the first four you should definitely read those first. Devon and Anya meet under far from the best circumstances. A fabulous book that keeps you reading from start to finish!!!
