A Woman’s Journey Of Love And Redemption Through The Horse Who Chose HerThrough the winding paths of heartbreak, self-discovery, and redemption, TheHorseWhoPickedMe traces a journey of love found, lost, and ultimately understood. From the dream of breeding Lipizzans to the sacrifices made for passion, marriage, and motherhood, this deeply personal memoir reveals the triumphs and mistakes of a life shaped by longing and loss.
At its heart stands Skywalker, a spirited paint horse who chose his rider before she ever chose him. His unwavering loyalty and quiet wisdom carried her through betrayal, despair, and the unraveling of the life she once knew. Even in his final moments, he gifted her something she never thought possible—forgiveness.
Raw, reflective, and powerfully honest, Skywalker is more than a story about a horse; it’s about the love that saves us, the choices that shape us, and the truths that finally set us free.
I randomly chose one of the reviews on Amazon. It captures the essence of this story:
Linda English 5.0 out of 5 stars The power of unconditional love from a remarkable horse Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2025 Format: Paperback I have always admired people who have loved horses as growing up I was always a bit overwhelmed at their size. This is a masterful jewel of a memoir. It is written with such authenticity, passion and wisdom. The author certainly stumbled through some difficult relationships but thanks to the unconditional love from her horses, especially Skywalker, she found her footing. I especially like the crafting of this book as it flips back and forth from long ago memories marked by the year they occurred and then contrasted to 2025 making it easy to read and comprehend. I had to continue reading and did not want to lose the momentum of often times heartache offset by incredible insights from the author. Well done!
