Walter Brueggemann was an American Christian scholar and theologian who is widely considered an influential Old Testament scholar. His work often focused on the Hebrew prophetic tradition and the sociopolitical imagination of the Church. He argued that the Church must provide a counter-narrative to the dominant forces of consumerism, militarism, and nationalism.
There was a lot in this book that I found so helpful. In particular chapter 17. However because it was written very much around the whole time of Covid there were parts which didn’t resonate so much with today’s issues. If I could I would give it 3.5.
It was okay. There are a lot of good thoughts in there, but it does not really succeed in being a biblical theology book. I felt like I couldn't decide what genre this book was.
