"Santa’s job was to punish the naughty. And that punishment was murder."

B Horror movies are some of my favorite films to watch. I know that they are going to be gory and absolutely ridiculous. SNDN is up my on list of favorite holiday films, so reading this was a no brainer.

Okay, this book was good and then it wasn’t. I know, I know, that’s kind of confusing but hear me out. The original script was fantastic, the inner deep thoughts of some of the characters were great, and the murders were gruesome. That’s what I wanted more of and he delivered.

Umm, *releases a breath* What made me cringe was the over sexualization of EVERYTHING. Why? Sister Margaret! Girl! I’m looking at you! It was unnecessary because she went above and beyond. Total weird and totally wild. Wasn’t into that slurping. But it was more than that but I don’t want to give too much away. It was insane.

While I enjoyed a lot of this book, there were parts that just weren’t for me. A solid read though.

Have you been good this year? Or have you been naughty?

This was so bad but so good at the same time, exactly like the movie!

Being a novelization of a bad (but loved) 80's slasher movie, I wasn't exactly expecting profound literature here. But boy is this terrible. The movie is sleazy, no denying that, and this book tries to multiply that for no other reason than shock value.
I haven't read the movie's original screenplay that this is apparently based on, but I can't believe it was this awful. There is so much sex crammed into the portrayal of what felt like every character. The ones who aren't constantly horny are twisted anyway, like the little girl that Billy gives the razor blade to - well she's happy with her gift, she plans on using it to autopsy her barbies! I'm not even going to describe what the author turned Sister Margaret into.
I wouldn't even recommend this to fans of the movie.

This expanded tie in is even more bloodier and violent than the movie! Loved it!
