It’s an intriguing plot and a good writing…
I think i put 4 stars as a rejection of the possibility of such a madness overall

It’s a second novel in Kiyoshi Mitarai series I’ve read and this one was way worse than “Tokyo zodiac sign murders”. Beginning of the plot was interesting, intriguing, but then author chose a wrong fork in the road. Imo. He gave so many details and different side plot-lines… But in fact some of them were either completely unnecessary to the main story, or author didn’t bother to explain what was that about to begin with.
A highly unrealistic way of murders also didn’t give book any more points. Simada probably wanted to make some kind of “wow-effect”, but in fact it was more like a “Eh? What? Why so artificially difficult?” effect.
Plus, I don’t know why, but while reading about Mitarai and Isioka I was constantly seeing Sherlock and John. Particularly modern ones. From famous BBC show. Doubt Simada made that intentionally, but it is what it is🤷🏻‍♀️
Anyway… I will continue reading Mitarai series, but probably with a quite low expectations.

Вторая попытка познакомиться с писателем и проникнуться им, но снова неудачная. Само расследование интересное и с налётом мистики, так как главный подозреваемый — дерево, питающее кровью людей. Но всё остальное навевает скуку. Персонажи неинтересные абсолютно, особенно писатель, от чьего лица всё действие и ведётся. Его друг мне нравится чуть сильнее, но даже он не харизматичен.

Финал меня не удивил. На этом, к сожалению, заканчиваю с романами писателя.

因为很喜欢御手洗侦探，又不希望很快读完御手洗系列的书，于是到今天才看了他的第三部长篇。书里涉及到了一点战争历史背景和极刑还有音乐，涨了一点小知识。虽然是人造怪谈类型，但诡计可以说是几乎没有，最近学习了一种推理小说爱好者的用语叫天迷地解，这本应该算，书中很多看起来是伏笔实际上根本没用的信息，放到严肃小说会觉得这个是命运云云，在推理小说难免让人觉得没有说服力。不过因为故事情节挺连贯，到最后揭秘的时候虽然不惊奇也不会觉得一下情绪就没了。最后私心提一下御手洗侦探，很喜欢他跟苏格兰警察一起唱歌的情节！

Роман-детектив из хорошей, но неровной серии про Киеси Митараи и его друга. Очень кровавый, раскинувшийся за пределы Японии, с несколькими сюжетными линиями в различные временные периоды, с мистикой, шифрами и загадками. Всего полно, трупов так просто и не сосчитать, что и бесит. Хотелось хонкаку-детектив, а получил какой-то Хэллоуин в 7 частях.
