Curvy girl Kat Koile has known Josh Murcek since she was twelve. He's her brother's best friend, the boy who tutored her in algebra and taught her to tie cherry stems with her tongue. He's also the first man to ever tie her up, tie her down, and teach her how to submit.
Kat knows Josh's secret now-- he's a South River Dom and with all her heart she wants to be his. So when he breaks her heart into a million, billion pieces, she's not sure she'll ever be able to put them back together.
Josh badly wants to teach Kat about passion and submission, but pulling her into his world of Domination, pain, and control is out of the question. She has never been with anyone whose cravings are as dark as his, and if he has any say she never will. He'll do anything to protect her, even if it means losing her.
But if Josh won't teach her to kneel, she'll find someone who will.
Jordan Bell is a romance writer, coffee lover, book reader, and sometimes superhero. She writes primarily in the BBW subgenre of romance, preferring to tell stories about curvy women like herself and millions of other awesome ladies who don’t fit the “average” portrayed by most media.
Jordan has written eleven books with THE CURVY SISTER hitting the Amazon Bestseller. All of her books are steamy new adult reads where the romance never fades to black, characters are always flawed and beautiful in their own unique ways, and villains are not always mustache twirling evil-doers.
In her spare time, Jordan hangs out on Facebook, loves coffee shops, over-sized hoodies, and red lipstick. She loves latte art, street art, and Jean-Léon Gérôme. In her spare time, she plays video games, practices yoga, and is an avid runner.
So I read the first book in like a night, and I was all like WHAT go to bed, nope staying up till 4am reading downloading the next one ASAP. I had to work the next day and I only got like 3 hours sleep, but I regret NOTHING!!
I fell in love with Kat and Josh in the first book, but it left on such a cliff hanger that I had to know what next. The author has this unquestionable talent to leave the novella length story off during the protags DARKEST NIGHT. You know that thing that happens that makes your gut drop and you think OH NO!!! That.
This one does a great job of showing us also how trying to get into the Dom/Sub market can also go horribly astray. Josh is refusing Kat, so she says, it's my choice, and she is 100% right on that. But instead of calling her friends who took her too the party or invited her too the party to be like, hook a girl up, I don't know what I'm doing, she goes the route of adds in newspapers. I can see someone who didn't have the avenues as Kat making that mistake, but come on girl. Shame should not be holding you back, it's a shame free environment.
That being said I like that Josh came for her. That when Kat needed bailing out of a bad spot, there he was all knight in shinning armour like. And then it's Kat's turn to bail, and then her friends take it upon themselves to find her someone, like should have happened in the first place, and then more Josh.
There was some great character development in this one. I really actually want to know what happens with Kat's brother Brian. I am totally jealous of Kat's friend and her Dom, ugh, can't remember names right now.
This series makes the whole Dom/Sub thing seam kind of normal and maybe something that sounds kind of okay. and by kind of okay, I would submit to Josh any day. Seriously. The way they explain the power exchange and the taking care of the sub, and the positive praise, actually kind of paint it in a welcoming light. I had already been thinking the along the same lines of how it really is the sub who has the power before this book series, as I had been thinking of sex scenes in my own WIP, but this really helped solidify that.
Anyways, totally hot, totally well written, and totally wort staying up all night for. Like I woke up early, thinking about it, and I had like only 3 hours sleep. It was like crack. PLEASE MADAM give me the end of this trilogy!!! NOW!!!
Hooked on the first two.....really want to see the end but still not out. I typically don't like cliffhangers for this reason. While I loved the story and couldn't put it down, I am losing patience on the final book release and it's causing the three rating.
This summer I chose to read Kathleen Glasgow’s novel, Girl in Pieces. It was about a Traumatized teen who was sent to a mental hospital but then was kicked out. She then journeyed to Minneapolis to attempt to start a new life and get rid of her inner demons. She went through a lot of challenges and had many ups and downs but she eventually found her inner peace in art. I got this book for my birthday a couple years back. It's been sitting on my shelf for a while and I decided to give it a read. I heard that it was a good and moving book so I thought I might be able to find something that clicked with me in it. I also heard it was eye opening to real problems and situations so I wanted to get a glimpse of those and experience it myself, second handedly, through the book. In reading this book it helped me understand the complexity of human relationships. It showed me that they were not just black and white, but were more complicated than anyone could have possibly imagined. It also showed me that people in pain can do horrendous things even without meaning to. They can love but also hurt without any intention of doing so. They may do things that one may consider horrible in order to protect them from the real world. It also showed me how strong a person can be. No matter what they seem to keep on going even when they think it’s their last step. The book also shows how different relationships intertwine. It’s like a giant spider web, where each connection is a strand that makes up the whole web. Some of these strands are directly connected while others meet at different points down the line or never meet at all. The thing is each strand, or relationship, shapes a person's life.
So I immediately bought this book right after I finished reading book 1. Jordan had me totally hooked on the relationship between Kat and Josh. I was left devastated by what Josh did at the end of book 1 I so just wanted to go and b***h slap him and ask what is wrong with you. You could see that they were so made for each other. It was like I could feel all of the pain that poor Kat was feeling through every word Jordan wrote. I was so happy I was literally jumping for joy close to the end, and then it happened, the all important twist in plot that you didn't see coming (but maybe you did...). Now I eagerly anticipating book 3.
Love this Book!! I think that this is a really good follow up book to Going Too Far. I think it really helps to take you further into Kat and Josh's story. Of how they're falling in love even though they're fighting it and how they both believe they don't deserve each other even though they do. Kat is a character that a lot of us can relate to: she's curvy and thinks that because of her size she doesn't deserve someone like Josh. And Josh is that Alpha male who we all want to take a little control of us and show us what we really want in the bedroom. Can't wait to read Wanting It All! I hope you all love this book as much as I do!! I received an ARC from the author for an honest review.
So I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review...and I'm so glad I was cause I was freaking hooked!!! I keep thinking Josh and Kat were made for each other, I see it ,why Can't Josh! In Girl in pieces you want to hit Josh and Love him a little more all at the same time, throw in Kat not giving up on a sub experience and her brother being weirder and Meaner than usual ...you won't put it down till you're done!
I loved this book! It was excellent! I loved the struggles that Kat and josh face on their own trying to come to grips with what is going on between them. I could feel kat's pain, I wanted to smack josh, but I was very pleased with the ending! Well mostly it is a sequel and who boy does she get you good!
I'm waiting for three...I've gone from loving Josh to wanting to beat him...back to loving him again, he perfect for Kat. I love his description of a submissive....excellent read.
