3.8 stars. A few of the short stories are pretty nice but some of them are just so downright predicable, it maims my enjoyment with this book.
The title story (1) Greedy Sheep: the story takes place in a mansion, the wealthy family living in the mansion has two beautiful daughters: the older sister is gorgeous but malicious, the younger sister is kind-hearted but fragile. Between the sisters, there is a young maidservant who grows up with them and witnesses many mysterious 'incidents' which have taken place in the household; then one day, one of the sisters is poisoned, but who is the real killer?
The setting is intriguing enough and the story isn't bad at all, but the major flaw of this first story is that it is so p.r.e.d.i.c.a.b.l.e, it really doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out . 2 stars only.
(2)Immoral Sheep: there is a middle class couple with a pair of lovely twins, everything seems perfect expecting the husband's failing business and his growing suspicion: why would one of his twins look so much alike with his best friend's only child? Can it be possible that his wife had cheated on him with his best friend before she got pregnant?
Well, the second story is a lot less predicable, and the explanation behind the conspiracy is pretty sound although I must complain about how every women in the first two stories are unlikable, manipulative and just......kind of shitty, 4.5 stars.
I originally wanted to write comment for each short story, but after a while I feel I don't have the energy for this. Still, if you were familiar with the crime and mystery genre, this book probably won't bring anything new to the table for you.
