Finding Raven

I was madly in love with him... until I met him in person.

Colette

I was never the girl who lacked anything in life. My parents were happy and healthy, I had goals and ambitions. I was your typical sixteen-year-old girl. However, when my father's plane went down overseas nine years ago and he was declared missing in action, I felt like I went missing with him. I lost a piece of myself that I'll never find again.

I needed closure, so I posted an anonymous letter, never expecting a response. Then a complete stranger took a chance and provided the words I needed to begin to heal. He goes by Arrow, my arrow, the man who found me in the deepest waters of my mind and pulled me to shore, the man who showed me that not all that is lost is gone, and the man who I fell madly in love with.

But what I never saw coming? Once I met him in person, I hated him.

Gage

My life thrived in solitude. The island of myself and my monsters was my sanctuary. I had my routine, my job, and a few friends who understood me.

But a letter left on an anonymous letter left on a bulletin board ruined everything. It was a desperate plea for help that I should have ignored, but I didn't. Raven became my only thought, my only desire, and my worst nightmare. She was soft and broken, lost in this world, and I was completely in love with her.

But she could never be mine. I couldn’t handle her love. She wanted to give me her heart; all I knew how to do with a heart was break it. She never should have looked for love where she would find only pain.

Because once I met her in person, I wanted to ruin her.

It touches on some very hush topics that should no longer be hush, and we should not be afraid to talk about them.
In the end, I now have a new book boyfriend who knows what to say at the right time 🥴🥵🫦 I have a New Favorite nickname.... you will have to read to find out, and a new quote that tops the "I would burn the world for you"
I could keep going.... JUST GO AND READ THE BOOK YOU WONT REGRET IT!!!

I was honored to receive an ARC of this gut-wrenching story ahead of its release on February 28, 2025.

What simplistic devastation. An emotional hurricane - a perfect, angsty, sexy storm!

Rarely - RARELY - do I feel so completely consumed by what I am reading, but S.E. Emory’s sophomore novel, Finding Raven, in her Birds of Boston series had me turning each new page faster than the last. Darker and sexier than her debut, Chasing Phoenix, S.E. Emory has yet again managed to capture my heart and obliterate it, repeatedly. What a delicious feeling! Gage Eros and Colette Corvina are characters with experiences I’ve waited to see in the pages of a book for so long - their collective traumas, their struggles, and their exponential growth in this fast-paced narrative are vitally important and demand to be shared.

Feral is an understatement. Gage has cemented his place as my newest dark book boyfriend, and in so many ways do I wish I were fiery, brave, and vulnerable like Colette.

This story was everything I wanted and didn’t know I needed it to be. S.E. Emory is growing beautifully into her authorship. I cannot wait for you, the reader, to have Finding Raven in your hands and love it as much as I do. I also cannot wait to see what S.E. Emory will dazzle us with next!

I knew before I began Finding Raven that it would change my whole existence that my every waking moment would be consumed by the darkness and accompanied by the love and light that pours out of these pages.

From the very first moment we met our MMC Gage Eros in chasing phoenix I knew that his story would be raw and yet so full of love but also the pain and often trauma that can be masked with being a survivor of abuse.

My heart broke so many times for Gage , their were many parts of him that we got to know in this book their were parts of Gage even he didn't let himself see and S.e emory wrote them all so well with so much love and care.

I absolutely adored our FMC Colette" cole" corvina. Cole was a ball of fire with a fierce love she reserved only for those who she truly loved. But just like Gage ,.cole wore a mask to those around her and when in her own company she let it slip and could be the slightly broken version of herself that those around her didn't know existed.

Seeing those broken moments between Cole and gage being healed with love were absolutely beautiful and truly some of my favourite parts, seeing them evolve with with their fierce love and becoming the happiest and healthy versions of themselves were an absolute joy to be part of.

This book showed that even the broken parts of ourselves can be brought into the light and can be loved and that making friends with our monsters isn't a bad thing when done with love.

We all deserve to love and be loved and Gage and Colette are two characters that felt so real to me that showed love truly is worth the risk

Wow. This book is a fast read. But definitely a book worth reading. Collette and Gage’s love story is truly beautifully written. This book had me laughing, crying, and feeling a bunch of different emotions. I truly got fully invested in this book. Even more so than Chasing Phoenix (book one in the series). There is a huge plot twist in the story that I did not see coming and had me jumping for joy and balling my eyes out. The letters back and forth between Collette and Gage were so raw and genuine. When Collette whispers “you’re mine not his.” It had me balling my eyes out. My God this book was just beautifully executed all around. The spicy scenes were jaw dropping. Men take notes. 😂
Please read the triggers though.

Could have been shorter

I usually like a good long book, but this one could have been shorter. It could have ended at about the 60% mark, there is a lot of repetition about how broken Gage is.

The story was good, I liked the characters, but found myself skimming pages to get to the end. I'll still read the rest of the series.

I wish i could put into words how this book captivated me! Gage and Collette are both strong willed and give calm in the chaos a new meaning. I absolutely loved this book and how it kept a deeper meaning with a strong story line. Highly recommend!
