This volume is focused on Nakamoto Reiji's past and connection to the Seidoukai, and the Heilong group. While i already liked Reiji for being 'unhinged hot blond with cool scar' this volume served to sympathize with him.

This volume was confusing to me. Maybe because the charcters look too much alike (?) I don't know, but I wanted to finish it quickly because I was really confused.

5/5. We definitely learned a lot in this volume, and what good twists! I know I said in the last volume that these characters had some really great written ties and connecting subplots but this volume was the absolute proof. I really enjoyed reading through Masatsugu and Reiji’s backstories. I clearly got really enthralled in this manga I haven’t been able to stop reading. Also, this volume is probably my favorite of the series so far, it was just such a great installment with some great development for this story as a whole.

Some lady hurt Reiji, which is why he has that scar. It seems he already knew Masatsugu because he was there when he woke up after the attack. Masatsugu told Reiji to come back to him in ten years, than then he’d grant his wish (I didn’t know what that wish is). Reiji wants to crush them (still now sure who *them* is but ok) Masatsugu knows he’ll be granted succession in the future. He knows he can help Reiji.

Okay, oh, good for them. They seem to be in a relationship that is both consensual and mutual (yay) here’s the first established relationship. I don’t know who they are (just yet) and I’m not sure if they’re on the bad or good side, hell, maybe they’re on their own side. In conclusion, be gay do crime.

Ok, but it was actually kind of endearing that Masatsugu loves Reiji’s fake eye and he prefers when Reiji embraces his scar? And Reiji has only ever been honest and trusted Masatsugu and vice versa?? They’re an actual couple that communicate and trust each other???

Oh- now this just got real interesting. 20 years previous, when Masatsugu was 18, his father killed his opposing clan’s leader and took in his kids. The eldest was Hisako, the girl who is in a coma in the same hospital Jun is in. The youngest of the two was Reiji.

Wow, Masatsugu definitely wins. He knows what an age gap is!

“Yet we ended up entrapped and helplessly tied together into the mire at the depths of the profound and dusky darkness within us that we had yet to suspect the existence of.”

Wow, that’s a JUICY quote.

Masatsugu definitely had a soft spot for the siblings.

Reiji was always used to being the odd one out. The one who never got attention. The one who “looked at people’s backs”

Reiji ran into Ryuuji a kid from his childhood.

Reiji didn’t trust adults because Ryuuji had to leave him and Hisako. That’s why he didn’t trust Masatsugu.

Oh shit, I’m hella slow. Ryuuji is Yuki’s Father. Wow, I’m sad all of a sudden. He was a nice person and Yuki does look a lot like him. Little Yuki is the sweetest I’m going to cry.

Yay to exhibit B of a nice relationship with rights. Fellow friends who agree that Ryuuji and Tsubaki deserved better, rise.

Reiji really said “I want that man” with his whole chest, okay son, shoot your shot.

The fact that Reiji was there when Yuki was a kid. And he comforted him as he did for Jun. I can’t.

Wait, so Masatsugu and Ryuuji are friends? Because earlier Masatsugu said he had a friend who did tattoos and that’s what Ryuuji’s shop is for. Interesting. These characters really are all intertwined.

Yuki’s mom, Tsubaki, is so sweet. I’m sad she and Ryuuji didn’t get to watch Yuki grow and couldn’t let him continue living with the loving and safe environment he had with his parents. They deserved better as a family, I will not hear a word against this statement now or at any time.

Ryuuji never came back after that I’m freaking devastated.

Reiji was so nice to Yuki I’m so sad.

SHUT UP! Reiji and Ryuuji were actually brothers! That’s why Reiji’s father took him I’m- it wasn’t for a random reason that was literally his son. Which means... Reiji is Yuki’s uncle. The plot thickens.

Reiji lost his father and his brother and he will lose his sister. I’m beyond sad, he deserved better. Well, least he has a man who actually loves him.

Wow, okay this volume have a lot of really important and really well-developed backstory.

The "Acid Town" series is brilliant - it is dark, full of twisting and turning story-lines, secrets, and hidden pasts. Keeping the characters separated in your head is easy - everyone has a unique and different look about them, and their personalities are just as such.

One word: Reiji. He is the reason I enjoy this volume more than all the rest. He, in his wonderful back-story, his character development, the way he has somehow managed to worm his way into the center of the action as well as my heart. There is something heart-breaking about his character, that he was able to accomplish more than Yuki (for perhaps the sole reason he has a personality).

SPOILER ALERT AHEAD

AND HE'S FREAKING YUKI'S UNCLE!!!!!!!!! I could hardly BELIEVE it! The interactions with young Yuki, as well as (later on) Yuki's brother were so amazingly adorable, I just had to stop and fangirl.

I am exceedingly interested in seeing what happens next. With Yuki and Rei's connection with each other popping out into the open, Rei's position in the silent battle to take over the city, and all the other stuff, I look forward greatly to the next volume.

There...IS ALSO THE FACT THAT THIS VOLUME PRACTICALLY ENDED ON THE STORY OF REI'S SCAR BEING HINTED AT, BUT NOT FULLY REVEALED!!!

God, this is such an amazing manga. I have to be honest, I need to reread the other volumes again to fully comprehend what happened until now and how everything is connected but even with my faded memory I enjoyed this very much. The last chapter of this volume made me cry so hard. I wish the next volume was already released. I want to keep on reading.

This is, in my opinion, an outstanding manga by german release standarts in the BL-genre.

Me encanta. Mafias, historias entrelazadas, ligeros toques de romance y un estilo de dibujo muy bonito y limpio. Espero encontrar más capítulos de este manga tan fantástico.
