A missing show dog.
A desperate teenage girl.
A detective who'd rather be anywhere else.

When Palm Beach socialite Pixie Kazarian's prized Afghan Hound disappears days before a prestigious dog show, private investigator Miami Jones reluctantly takes the case. But what starts as a simple missing pet investigation quickly becomes complicated when two more dogs vanish without a trace.

As Miami digs deeper into the world of competitive dog shows, black market breeding, and the dark underbelly of South Florida's pet industry, he discovers that someone is willing to kill to keep their secrets buried. With help from his eclectic group of friends and a temporary teenage foster daughter who sees right through his defenses, Miami races to uncover the truth before more dogs disappear – or worse.

From the glittering mansions of Palm Beach to the seedy back alleys of West Palm Beach, Miami Jones must navigate a world where nothing is quite what it seems, and everyone has something to hide.

Miami is hired to find an elite show dog. How the cameras quit working during the heist, is a mystery. Two other dogs end up being stolen, 1 of them owned by a teenage girl who is far from rich. That dog becomes very important to the story. Miami and Danielle are having another try at fostering, a teenage girl that comes complete with her own dog. Searching for these dogs almost costs Jones his life a couple times. If you are a dog lover, you surely are going to like this one. If you like action, there is plenty of that, too.

Miami Jones and his partner are hired by a Palm Beach socialite (Pixie) to find her missing prize winning show dog. As he digs deeper, he finds two other dog-napped show dogs neither as prize winning as Pixie's but still missing.

As he delves deeper into the show dog world, he finds info on puppy mills, dog breeding for stud fees and posh pet palaces for spa treatments & canine care. There is money in all of it and he encounters dangerous dog gangs and crooked owners.

A fast and easy read for great entertainment.

AJ Stewart hits another one out of the park

Once I start a new AJ Stewart book, I don’t want to stop until I’ve devoured the entire book. I hope he keeps finding sports-related crimes for my favorite character, Miami Jones, to investigate and solve. Another well written, attention grabbing storyline to draw the reader in. AJ Stewart is a master storyteller and researcher of all things sports related keeping Miami Jones busy and delighting readers. Already looking forward to the next book in the series.

Can’t say enough about the Miami Jones series and this latest book. It’s definitely another winner. This series has always drawn me in. This one is a little different since Miami is hired to find a missing dog. What starts out as one dog missing ends up being more. Can he figure it out before more disappear and while he’s trying to be a good foster parent to a teenager. In fact, she helps him out. There were so many twists and turns that kept me guessing until the end. Terrific job A. J. Stewart. I always look forward to the next one!

Stewart always delivers

I’m not a fan of detective novels. As a Floridian, what attracted me to Mr. Stewart’s work was the locale. So I read the first book and was immediately hooked. Miami Jones as a character has layers of depth and the supporting cast never disappoints. The sports related themes add a flavor lacking in most detective works. As the plot winds through unpredictable paths to its ultimate conclusion, you will enjoy every page.

dog gone it, he did it again

This is probably the eighth or 10th book of Mr. Stewart’s that I have read, but I do believe it’s my favorite because of the fostering aspect. I don’t want to give anything away, but I’ve grown rather fond of Miami and he certainly has grown in character.

Quick and enjoyable read

I am a dog lover, so expected to really one this book. If to me a little while to get into it, but the descriptions of the professional dog world behind the scenes was fascinating. Miami and is wife Danielle were very likable characters. So are the typical teenage girls. I'd recommend this book for a great summer read.

Another great Miami Jones mystery

Dog Gone is another exciting Miami Jones book. It cleverly brings Lucas into the story as the key to solving the dognapping mystery. It also shows more of the personal side of Miami and Danielle. A great read.

A good mix

I wasn't certain that I would like this story, but it got better and turned into good mixture of emotions and reality. A good vehicle for Miami Jones.

I enjoyed reading this book. Miami Jones steps out of his comfort zone in a few ways but as usual navigates through the mystery. There is adventure, danger, and a few tender moments. Enjoyable read.

doggie care

Another unusual mystery in Florida uses real places for verisimilitude. No guns carried by the good guys add to the realistic feel.

Dog Gone Good!

As always, AJs characters exude realism vs. hype. Great plot with interesting insights into the ultra-upper-society world of high stake dog shows! Fun story line with the perfect amount of twists and turns; well done. Doggone good ;)
