Officer Shawn Everly patrols the Strip and one night, fireman Trent Marshall saves him when danger strikes. But it’s still uncertain whether Trent can save himself from getting his heart broken by Shawn.

The party never ends on the Las Vegas strip but neither does the danger. Officer Everly is new to the beat, having recently relocated to Vegas from Los Angeles. Foot patrol on the Strip is a demanding assignment because he’s up close and personal with the public. But what he’d really like to do is get up close and personal with Station 32’s hunky fireman, Trent Marshall.

Trent has been a fireman for over ten years and is dedicated to his job. He’s built tough and is a no-nonsense man of few words. At a local blood drive, Trent meets the handsome new officer on foot patrol but won’t let himself get too close. He’s lost love before when his policeman lover was killed in the line of fire.

During an emergency, Trent’s over-protective instincts kick in when he believes Shawn is in harm’s way. He ends up embarrassing and angering Shawn in front of their fellow officers, which seems as though it will end any hope of Trent having a chance with the young man he can’t push from his mind. Shawn can’t decide whether he wants to punch or kiss Trent. Kissing wins. Once they spend some time together away from the stresses of their jobs, they find that they’re not just compatible—they’re combustible.

But Trent can’t seem to accept that there are hazards that come with working in law enforcement. Right as they’re discovering how much they mean to one another, the danger escalates on the Strip. The underground vigilante group, The Citizens Against Immorality, have raised the stakes. Will Shawn and Trent be their next targets?

This was a round-up-to-4-stars read until the rooftop scene, which was over-the-top melodramatic, too easily resolved, and utterly unbelievable.

I love me some alpha male action, and Trent and Shawn were ever so HOT together.

HOT HOT HOT

Trent was a few inches taller than Shawn and carried Shawn around whenever he could. Shawn called Trent "babe." They fucked like bunnies. And kissed constantly.

There was Insta Love overflowing, as well as love in a jacuzzi, love in the shower, love on a couch, love on . . .

You get the idea.

Also:

The writing wasn't entirely polished, and I'm not sure the crime component was necessary, but I had FUN with this book.

Sometimes dirty & flufftastic is all you need.

I'm totes reading book 2!

3.5 Stars!

All things considered this was a pretty good read.

The sex was pretty damn...

....4/5 star worthy there.

But I found Shawn and Trent's dialogue to be a bit cheesy at times and they were both pretty sappy.

And I laughed at how often Trent carried Shawn around.

But overall this was a very easy read. Very little drama. Entertaining.

I'll definitely be checking out the other books in the series!

BR, January 28th with Susan

Susan's review

Let me tell you, this was some smoking hot story!!!

We’ve got a sweet-alpha-hot-male fireman.

Trent

description

Trent loves to carry around his man, the very hot-male cop.

Shawn

(btw Susan, we’ve picked the same hot guy!!)

Man, these guys fucked like bunnies!!

Sex in the bathroom

Sex on the couch

“Plain-ole” sex in the bedroom

And my favorite the “dirty-talk” sex with

“Do you reach between your legs or around the back to insert it?”
“I… I reach around.” Shawn slowly picked up a rhythm on his dick again. “Easier.”
“Then?” Trent increased the pace on his own throbbing erection.
“I play…play a little. Tease my hole…” Shawn’s eyes were closed, his face flushed.
“Poke it in and out, just past the rim…oh…fuck.”

Fuck indeed!!

Well, that’s about it!!! I had fun anyways :D

Perfect for when you want men in uniform, lots of smex, and just enough relationship turmoil to keep you on your toes and not in tears.

Shawn and Trent meet, and it is definitely insta-lust, and when they decide to move things forward, it is pretty much insta-love. They perfectly and easily connect in and out of the bedroom, but Trent's overprotective streak keeps their work dynamic very messy. How do they reconcile this before they're over, when really, they've just barely begun?

Overall, a very easy read with plenty of steam, plus a little emotional gravitas, sprinkled with some on the job action.

This book was a great read for the mood I was in last night. I was cranky, and tired and cold. It warmed me right up. Any other day though, I would have probably been doing nothing but rolling my eyes and shaking my head.

This is the most instant of insta-love. I mean INSTANT. The entire book was so over the top but made up for it because it was hot as fuck.

So, if you just want a hot read that you can’t take very seriously I say go for it. Will I read the next one? Yeah. I mean, who doesn’t want some hot fun?

And firefighter Trent.

Together they set the bed on fire.

And I can tell you, it was hot! When they brought out the toys…

There is some minor angst near the end, but it was very manageable for me. I was totally okay with it and could understand why Trent was acting the way he did.

A great read. I can’t wait to read the second book.

Conflicted romance with dirty smexy sex is a great way to spend an afternoon relaxing. All Fired Up is part of a series and full disclosure, I read this book as a standalone. It can easily be read independent of the others in the series. After reading this one, readers will want to read the others in the series.

Shawn Everly is an officer working the Vegas Strip. He is a bona fide law enforcement officer even if he possesses the body of a Chippendale. When he crosses paths with fireman Trent Marshall, a spark ignites and the sexy time begins. Both Shawn and Trent are drool worthy. They are boy next door sweet and playgirl calendar hot. From a character design perspective, they are easy to understand and admirable. They are both likable and suffer the superhero syndrome. They believe they are invincible and can save the day, despite the perils of possibly dying.

The plot of this story is good and enjoyable. Ms. Knight does a nice job of adding a mystery to solve. The conflict is heartbreaking as Trent is not over the loss of his previous lover. The similarities between Shawn and Trent's former lover are too much for him to handle. Ms. Knight shows how people grieve, deny, obsess and finally overcome. Watching Trent spiral out of control and how his family and friends support him is lovely to witness. The comradery of the firemen in this book is appeal and great to see. It enhances the enjoyment of this book.

The sex in this book is delicious. For those who are looking for heavy kinky scenes, this is not the book for you. The sex is not exactly vanilla either, unless one considers shower sex and rough sex to be vanilla. There were no sex toys harmed in the telling of this tale. Kidding aside, the chemistry between the two men is good and arousing. This book is recommended to m/m lovers who want their men in and out of uniform.

Darum geht’s:

What a way to start a series. Trent is a firefighter for Las Vegas, who lost his previous police officer boyfriend in the lone of duty, making him hesitant to try something with Shawn, the new foot patrol officer hes drawn to. Shawn can feel Trent wants him, yet also feels his reluctance to try something. after a few incidents in the line of duty, the tension become so much they break and allow for something more.
What I love about this story, Trent has his demons, and when they get to the point, it his hindering his work, and home life does get help. Mix in Shawn does not easily forgive and makes sure the work is put in to allow them to a chance at a healthy relationship. A great blend of heat and tension, where you feel everything they are and hope they work past their demons.
it has highly appreciated it was not an easy fix and had to be worked through. Felt realistic in these high tension jobs.

3,5 stars for a love/Lust at first sight novella, which tried to get more content in there then pages.

Trent and Shawn were a great couple but there was more sex than real relationship development at first.
I would have liked to see more of them together afterwards.

The Mystery was OK... but a bit rushed ...

Nevertheless, I enjoyed reading this story and I will come back for the next book. Which is hopefully Darren.

This was some pretty cruisy reading. It may be insta-everything and totally sap-tastic, but it was also light on the angst, had men in uniform (one cop and one firefighter) who engaged in some fairly delicious smexy times, and it even has a slight mystery component that had me intrigued and kept me guessing. I'm a happy camper.

This was really just ok for me. I had trouble keeping the characters separate in my head. I don't know why I struggled so much but I had to often go back and re-read sections to find out whether Trent or Shawn was talking and kept having to remind myself which was which. I didn't dislike the story, but I didn't love it either. It was a fast simple read, that kept my attention without having me engrossed.

Trent's history was really sad and I definitely understood the struggles he was having in accepting Shawn into his life. This was probably one of my favorite parts of the story. His fears about loving another cop were justifiable and needed to be addressed before he could really move on and be a true partner to Shawn.

I think part of my problems may have come because I kept getting the personality I expected of Shawn from Trent. For a cop Shawn is more intelligence than brawn. His observational skills were really great and I did appreciate the way his brain worked, but he often came across as a bit of a klutz and somehow his heroic actions always seemed to need someone else to step in and help.

Still I enjoyed the story and the mystery wasn't badly done if a bit anti-climatic. I was entertained and these two together are definitely HOT! The erotica sections were VERY WELL DONE! A bit of fanning needed. ;)

I quite like this book very much. It was basically a romance but it wasn't angst ridden as the MC's are in their 30's. It had a touch of thriller and a bit suitcase of baggage. It was well written and quite sad. It's also hard to put into words.

Give me a cop and a firefighter, and I’m all in! It was a very entertaining book, where cheesy lines went hand in hand with some pretty hot scenes. The crime element would have benefited from a bit more work but, all in all, go for it if you want an easy sexy read.

Shawn Everly is a recent transplant to the Las Vegas PD, fresh off a task force in LA, so he's used to mean and crazy. But Vegas, well... Vegas is a different league of crazy. Between the heat, Shawn's overwhelming attraction to a fire fighter, and a vigilante group wreaking havoc around Vegas, Shawn's job just got a little harder.

Trent Marshall lost his long time partner who was also a cop when he was shot during a casino robbery. Trent swore he would never get involved with another cop again after that, the stress and the job being just too much for him. The spark that flared when he and Shawn shook hands at the blood drive is still tingling in his fingers though. Now Trent feels protective and every call they go out on, he seeks out Shawn to make sure the young man is okay, assisting a little more than necessary much to the dismay of not only Shawn, but Trent's captain at the fire house.

The two spend a long day hiking and picnicing in the mountains just outside of Vegas and sparks definitely fly. Their relationship is anything but a secret, especially since all their co -workers witnessed the way they looked at each other from the start. The problem that these two out and proud men have looming is Trent's extremely over protective nature, and Shawn is anything but a damsel in distress. Well, that and a certain vigilante group that promises to "cleanse" Vegas of all deviants.

Both men have been hurt in the past. Lost loves and family, and now they have each other. They will have to learn how to communicate though, when Trey would rather throw Shawn over his shoulder and smack his ass than actually hold a conversation. The passion and energy is obvious with them from the first day they meet, but Trey has issues telling Shawn his thoughts, how he feels. They are both proud men, love their jobs and are good at what they do, so either of them walking away from their career is not an option. At the end of the day, is the passion and love they share enough to compromise?

This story was just so exciting, dangerous and sexy! I was captivated from the start when Trent pulled Shawn out of the hotel pool when the drunk swimmer was acting a fool. Trent is large, in charge, brooding and really does have this cave man type of attitude. And while Shawn loves all the attention, craves it really, he wants to be sure they remain on equal ground. That they are lovers, partners and equals. The chemistry is fantastic, and while they play off each other’s differences, their similarities really shine through as well.

Fans of sexy romances, cops, firefighters and a healthy dose of action of going to love this new series from best selling M/M romance author, Morticia Knight. She definitely shows her ability to write complicated, sexy alpha males with a heart in this one.

This book was as hot as a summer in Las Vegas where this book is set. Shawn Everly, a cop who moved to Las Vegas from Los Angeles, and Trent Marshall, a fireman, have instant burning chemistry even if they do nothing about it because Trent Loved a cop before and is afraid to Love again because of the pain he went when His love died in theline of duty. Shawn must be the most accident prone cop ever it seems that he is always needing to be fixed up or rescue from situations like being rescued from be drown my an overweight drunk that he went in the artifical lake to rescue, or tripping over a tree root getting back to his partner. let just say when they finally get together the romance is blazing hot.

Shawn Everly transferred to Las Vegas PD from Los Angeles and now patrols the strip. He meets Firefighter Trent Marshall at a blood drive and feels an instant attraction. Trent feels the same thing but refuses to act on it. He lost his last partner who was also a police officer in the line of duty and does not want to go through that again. He does, however, feel very protective and angers Shawn when he acts on it at a crime scene. Shawn is not sure what he wants to do to Trent. He may punch him or he may kiss him. Good thing kissing wins. But Trent cannot let go of his fear that something will happen, specially with an underground morality group targeting what they consider immoral. It turns out they have their sights set on Shawn and Trent for their next act of violence.

Shawn and Trent were incredible heroes. Both capable and competent, Trent had problems letting go of the past. This added considerable stress to the new relationship. It was looking like their was no hope but each felt they had something and wanted to try and keep it. The action was fast paced and the plot involving the morality group kept it going. Very exciting ending. A nice quick read, All Fired Up was very satisfying.

A really easy book to read and get into, the characters were both in the sevices (Police and Fire) so imagine sexy uniformed men. There was instant chemistry from the start but there was also reluctance from Trent suggesting that there was more going on with him. I was glad that the two got together early on in the story so we didn'thave any messing around. The sex scenes were very well wriiten and really sexy. They really added a lot of intimacy and heat to the story. Running alongside the budding romance is a police and fire investigation which added to the narrative and gave a focus for the story. There is some slight angst bought about by this investigation but mainly the story is just a sweet and steamy romance of two compatible men. There is a small undercurrent of a dominant/Caretaker role but this is just an observation and isn't made into a big feature of their relationship; it mainly helps to explain their dynamic. This is book 1 in the series and there is an introduction for book 2 at the end, following the story of one of the secondary characters featured. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Okay, even though I felt this story was short, I liked it. Shawn and Trent were good to each other, they were what the other needed and I enjoyed seeing Trent’s growth as a character. While reading this book, I felt like I was in an episode of CSI: Las Vegas and that’s already a win for me. I liked all the police stuff, that Trent despite his fears accepted Shawn into his life, and that Shawn didn’t give up on him. I had fun reading this book, it’s light but with some heavy themes, it’s more than fine to have a good time.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
