Rate this book
All’s fair in love and war…

Abby Snyder finally has the opportunity to expand her diner now that the building next door is available. Unfortunately, she must compete with Nick Coleman to get it. Abby—usually über-responsible—shared one night of intense passion with the playboy, and she's been trying to forget it ever since. But then Nick bets her the building that he can make her fall in love with him in thirty days.

With his reputation ruining his chances at gaining some big clients, Nick needs a way to prove to everyone that he’s reformed. Dating Abby, the most respected girl in town—and the only one he wants—is the perfect solution. Nick’s confident he’ll get Abby to fall for him, so he’ll win the building and the girl he can't get out of his mind.

But even though Abby can’t lose, resisting Nick is harder than she thought.

I enjoyed this book. Abby and Nick are kind of rivals - competing for the same building but they are really attracted to each other and have spent a night together a couple months before this story takes place. This story was really sweet with witty, loveable characters. I look forward to reading more in this series.

I cannot say enough good things about this book! Loved the witty humor and sarcastic banter between Nick and Abby! Terrific dialogue!! And the secondary characters (especially her granddaddy) were well-defined and added so much more to the story. This was a sweet romance with loads of sexual chemistry. I fully believed that these two character were hot for each other from page one. Superb writing, descriptive, fun, and most importantly, a beautiful love story between two characters I have absolutely fallen for. Can't wait to read more from this fantastic author!

I received this in exchange for an honest review. Where do I start? This was an AMAZING read and it had my interest from page one! The main characters Abby and Nick have an obvious chemistry. Three months ago they spent an AMAZING night together....a night neither can forget. Now they both want the same thing....a building each needs for their respective businesses. The owner tells them to figure it out on their own and then let the games begin. Nick lays down the challenge. But is he really after the building or a repeat night with Abby? The bantering between the two is comical and I found myself on team Nick. Throw in a meddling grandfather, 2 curious sisters and a conspiring building owner and find out if Abby can resist her rival.

Resisting Her Rival is a quick witted fun read. Both Abby and Nick have their own agendas when it comes to fighting for the building they both want. RWR is well written with not just likeable, but loveable characters. This happens to be the second book in the series, but there is enough back story, to read as a stand alone. However, with that being said, I am going to start at the beginning of the series. I also look forward to reading the next book to see where the rest of these spirited characters end up. An ARC was provided by the author for a an honest review.

Nick's ego just can't handle some jabs, "no way could he let that go. "Whatever? Let me spell it out for you. We had mind-blowing sex. Best you ever had, you said." Abby she's funny in her own way and I love how she thinks she's bada**, "don't stand there with your sexy five o'clock shadow and think that I'll be easily persuaded to overlook this one." Nick he sometimes likes to let his girl sweat things out, "you show up at my house in the middle of the night, disturb the peace, and tell me you want to be with me." He shook his head. "I don't think you're being sincere." This book was funny and an enjoyable read.

Resisting Her Rival from the very talented Sonya Weiss, is an amazing story that will leave you smiling throughout the whole story. This is the first book I've read from Sonya Weiss, which is actually book 2 in the Stealing the Heart series. The first one is Stealing the Groom and I immediately one-clicked it, as soon as I finished Resisting Her Rival. I am extremely pleased I found a new author to add to my favorites list. Resisting Her Rival captured my attention from the very beginning. The storyline is engaging, the romance is sweet, and the characters are well developed and witty. I can't wait to see what else this author puts out.

This book was a sweet read with the right amount of angst , I never felt frustrated. I love Nick's sense of humour , my cheeks are sore from smiling through most of the book ! Abby also had a great sense of humour ; Nick:" Do you run?" Abby: " Not unless I'm being chased or going for chocolate" . I loved it, it was a very enjoyable read.

Loved this one! A humor filled story with amazing characters and a quick pace make this a perfect read. It's a sweet story that has the H/h competing for the same building. Nick throws down a challenge and Abby can't resist. The banter between the two is hilarious and the secondary characters will make you chuckle. I highly recommend this one!

Resisting Her Rival was such a cute romantic story about two rivals fighting over a building, and whose hearts collide as they start to realize that they are meant for each other.

Abby Snyder has worked really hard to make her diner successful, and now she wants to expand it by using the building next door. But to her surprise, the person that also wants the building is non other than Nick Coleman, the undeniably irresistible playboy that she got to spend the night with. Months have passed since they've seen one another, and now that he is back in town, and in her life, she is determined to get what she wants no matter how irresistible Nick is.

Nick has had a rough time getting clients for his business due to his reputation, his playboy status hasn't worked for him, and now he wants to turned that around by buying a building for his business. He knows that if he wants to change his status with the town, he'll have to figure out a way to make them see that he is a responsible and changed man. And he has just the right person to help him with that, and that is Abby Snyder. Nick knows that getting Abby to help him is not going to be easy, but the minute Abby finds out who is planning to buy the building next to hers, Nick bets her the building if he can make her fall in love with him in thirty days. It is a risky move for both of them, but they are equally determined to win. When the thirty days start, Abby starts to wonder if falling in love with Nick is easier than she thought it would be, and if she falls for him, she is going to lose the building that she wants.

I really liked both of the characters in the story, Abby is a hard working person that wants to succeed, and Nick is more playful, but also a hard-worker. When the two visit the owner of the establishment to sell them the building, he tells them to figure out on their own who is going to be the one getting the place, and that's when the bet is really on between the two. The dynamic between them works and that's what also pulls them together. I found myself hysterically laughing in some of the scenes where Abby's grandfather is involved. He is a total matchmaker, and he is hilarious. The storyline was great, and engaging, it was nice seeing the progression that the two characters made throughout the story, to the very end. Overall, the story was enjoyable to read, as it was quick, and the romance between the characters helped a lot. It really made the ending cute and romantic, I would really recommend anyone to give this story a try. :)

Resisting Her Rival is a sweet romance with a side of angst.

Abby is a sweet girl-next-door type. She's responsible, determined and has her heart closed off. Nick is a man with a bay boy reputation. They spend a night together, and that's all it was supposed to be.

Then comes the rivalry for the building next to Abby's diner. Bets are on and the battle ensues.

You can definitely feel the smokin' hot chemistry between the main characters and there's a lot of intrigue that comes with that as a reader.

The only thing I felt was missing was a bit more background on Abby and Nick's pasts (flashbacks would have worked well). I think it would have allowed more connection to the characters straight off the bat. You don't find out until very far into the book the exact reasons why Abby avoids relationships of any sorts, so I was left wondering why she was always so off put with Nick other then that she's divorced. I wanted more book!

I loved their banter and wit with each other. There's definitely a lot of laugh out loud moments. The secondary characters were also very well written.

I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a nice, lighthearted, sweet romance. Definitely worth the read.

A fantastic read that I found very hard to put down. The characters were a lot of funny. Abby was sassy and independent but inside she was lonely and sad. Nick was self assured and successful also. The games these two played to win the ultimate goal (a building) had me laughing me butt off. What they both convinced themselves was the most important goal was not what they ended up winning.
The sisters and friends were great secondary characters who added layers to the storyline and grandpa Noah is a hoot. After reading this book I see that it is the second book in this series so I seriously find myself needed to go on amazon to buy Stealing the Groom (Amelia & Chad's story).
Ann will be the next one and I will have to place my preorder when that's available. Fun, romantic and so much more :)

Resisting Her Rival was the first book that I have read by Sonya Weiss. I have to say that I loved it! It was really a fun book that I read in one sitting. I laughed a lot while reading and loved the banter between not only Abby and Nick; but between Abby and her family as well. I usually go for the more sexy books; but I really liked how Resisting Her Rival was more of a sweet (not totally “innocent”; but definitely sweet) book.

I will definitely be checking out her other book Stealing The Groom and can’t wait to see what she writes next.

This is a fun story about a small town, where everyone knows your name and has a long memory. Abby and Nick both have histories to out live. Abby is a strong, strong character (sometimes I felt she was too strong it took a long time to see her softer side). Nick is funny and easy to fall in love with. Overall it was an easy fun read that reminded me of my own small town. If gives you hea you are looking for without the leaving a you with a cliff hanger ending. Enjoy I certainly did.

I received a copy of this story in exchange for an honest review and thoroughly enjoyed the adventure. The small town feel was the perfect backdrop for these very real characters. Add some witty dialog and interesting secondary characters and you have a winning sweet romance. I'll definitely be reading this author again.

This was exactly what I've come to expect of an Entangled Bliss story. It was sweet, funny, romantic, and just a little frustrating.
Abby is a good girl who guards her heart out of fear of being hurt and instead focuses on her diner and protecting her sisters. Nick is the misunderstood good guy with a bad reputation around town. They've shared one night together and all Abby wants to do is forget, all Nick wants to do is repeat it. When they both become interested in an empty building, they make a wager to date for 30 days. Winner gets the building.
The way that they both set each other up throughout the book in an attempt to win the wager and the building is hilarious. The dance lessons, the matchmaking, the set building, the cake decorating, the camping and the way that Travis somehow outwitted Abby every time, it was brilliant. The trip to North Carolina and the finished remodel of the building were the perfect addition to the story.
This book was everything I needed in a simple, sweet weekend read and I'm really looking forward to reading Ann and Eric's story, as well as going back to read some of Sonya's previous books.

Abby and Nick have great chemistry - and one fantastic night three months ago proved it - but now they both want the building next to Abby’s diner and Nick also wants Abby, so a challenge is issued! How Abby fights to resist Nick to win the challenge and he tries to win both the building and her love make this an engaging storyline with great, well rounded characters. The background of both main characters, involving violence and abusive relationships, has a real impact on their developing relations and these issues are related in a sympathetic manner. The writing is humorous, a great light hearted book with a great solid storyline, making this a fantastic book to escape into. I didn’t realise this was the second in the series but can easily see other characters from this being central to future novels - I'll be looking out for more by this author!

Thanks to the author and publishers for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this in exchange for this, an honest review.

Another great book by Sonya Weiss. Abby is used to taking care of her family and doing everything by herself after her divorce. Nick has always noticed her but she's never given him the time of day. A few months ago, a chance encounter, and a night of passion she's back to ignoring Nick until they want the same thing...the building next to her diner. I really liked this one.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. In no way did this sway either my review or my rating!

I had so much fun reading this book and I could hardly put it down. The characters, each and every one of them, were refreshing. The storyline was sweet and amusing. It was a little slice of perfection all the way around.

I think the characters were what really puts this book over the top for me. Both Nick and Abby's grandfather, Noah, were so hilarious and playful. Nick in a sort of cocky and flirtatious way that had me enamored of him from the very beginning. His sense of humor and quick wit were something else. And Noah who played the innocent matchmaking meddler stole my heart instantly. I'm going to have to go back and read book one so I can see more of his shenanigans as soon as possible!

And all the girls were equally as fun to read. Abby and her sisters, Ann and Amelia, had a great dynamic to them. I loved their closeness and the way they support and look out for one another. Though from the hints dropped here and there surrounding Amelia I have another huge reason to want to go back and read the first book. I hadn't read the blurb for that one yet so finding out what happened between Amelia and her husband Chad had me both amused and intrigued to read their story. Plus there was a nice little build up with this one to what will potentially be the next book with the last sister Ann. I can't wait to read the other girls stories!

I got wrapped up in this book instantly. I loved the idea behind the bet that Nick proposes to Abby, that he can make her fall in love with him. She was so confident in her ability to resist him and all I wanted to do was shake my head and tell her she had no chance whatsoever. He's just that adorable and their chemistry was practically combustible I have no idea how she was strong enough to resist as long as she did. It's not an easy path to their happy ending. They've both got a few issues to work through. Stuff from their childhoods that have both of them on the love-will-never-be-for-me train. Watching them struggle with their feelings was fun, sweet and swoon worthy. I can't wait to read more from Sonya Weiss in the future, this book was the perfect start!

Thank you Entangled Publishing for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book!

I really wanted to like this book. I like the enemies-to-lover trope, so I figured this would be more or less up my alley. Technically, her writing was okay, I just couldn’t get into the story. Some parts were okay—I found some of the banter engaging, and there were certain lines that I liked, but I hated that so many parts were skipped over. I get that since this is a Bliss title, the steam level should be low, but even the kissing scenes, Abby talking to Oscar, and the actual scavenger hunt, among others, were cut short or cut out completely. It made it hard for me to sink myself into the story and into Abby and Nick’s relationship, because they were mostly just talking about what happened, and I didn’t get to experience the moments for myself. I think it’s a case of telling instead of showing.

Also, I’m usually a fan of dual POVs, because they give me an insight into both character’s motivations, but in this case, it didn’t work to Nick’s advantage. I couldn’t root for him despite his thoughtful gestures, because I knew that he was going after Abby not just because of the building and his attraction to her, but also because he wanted to benefit from her good reputation. I’m all for a formerly bad guy reforming himself and struggling to get past people’s misconceptions of him, which I’ve seen in a lot of books recently, but Nick's internal monologue made him seem like he’s just using Abby. For me, that colored his nice gestures, and I couldn’t root for them ending up together. He kind of redeemed himself later on in the story when he told Abby what he found out from her grandfather and when he admitted his original plan to Abby, but by that time, I was already turned off by his characterization. His grand gesture was sweet, though.

About Abby—I loved how she was so protective of her family and how determined she was to make her business work. Although she does do some slightly underhanded stuff over the course of her bet with Nick, I didn’t mind, because she was always upfront about the fact that she wanted the building and was willing to do what she needed to get it. I just really wish I’d liked Nick better, so that I would’ve enjoyed their happy ending. Still, I’d be willing to read a different book by this author.

Abby Snyder had one of her best night with Nick Coleman three months ago. Now she barely even sees him until he places a bid on a building she so she can expand her diner. The owner won’t sell the building until Nick and Abby figure out a solution on their own. Nick still thinks about that one night three months ago and bets Abby that he can make her fall in love with him in thirty days or she can have the building.

Abby and Nick’s rivalry kept me entertained from the first page and since it was an easy and quick read, I read it in a day! Both Abby and Nick had a past that kept them at bay when it came to relationships, but Nick was willing to try with Abby, he just needed to convince her.
Sonya’s characters were ALL amazing, Abby’s granddaddy and his best friend were so adorable always playing match maker! Abby’s sisters were there for her EVERY step of the way; all they want was her to be happy! Abby had a huge heart, but closed it off for most of the book. Then there was Nick, what a sweetheart! I was rooting for him every step of the way!!!

I also loved the interactions between Abby and Nick, they had me laughing with all their banter!!!

****A gifted copy was provided by the publisher for an honest review****

I cannot think of how many good things I can say about this author’s book. The scenes are written in such a way that you really can picture yourself as being there and the main characters , Abby and Nick, what can I say—such a combustive duo.

Abby is the good girl, the girl who is most likely to go far, the one who is known as straight laced and laced tight. She wants to do everything “by the book” and “what is right”, while Nick is “fly by the seat” type of guy who likes all the ladies he sees. But these two characters see each other and it was like they knew they were for each other and fought it. Their love story was full of turmoil, humor, emotion, heartbreak, redemption.. The highest highs and the lowest lows. You name it, it happened. The writing was great. I couldn’t put this book down. I can’t wait to read more in this series.

My rating :4.5 stars ****

What's not to like?!?!?!?! Abby and Nick have off the chart chemistry, in and out of the bedroom! LOL The witty banter between them made this such an easy and loveable read! I read it in one sitting!
Here's the gist, Abby and Nick had a scorching night together a while ago. They meet up again because they are both bidding for the same building...Cue the laugh out loud, pee your pants banter. VERY SWEET STORY and I highly recommend it!

What a fun read, had me laughing out loud. Nick and Abby both competing for the building next to Abby's diner, Nick throws in a thirty day challenge. They do have a one night history in their past, that Abby would just like to forget but Nick wants to takes up where they left off. This is a fast paced story that I really enjoyed.
