You're a pain in the ass, you know that?"
"And you're a filthy-mouthed nerdy girl I'd like to lick from head to toe the very next chance I get."

Lynn Raye Harris has become synonymous for sizzling hot Romantic Suspense for me. If you're looking for an action packed and steamy romance, the likes of Cindy Gerard, Pamela Clare, or Maya Banks, then you my friend, have just stumbled onto your holy grail. I'm not even kidding. I love this series. Not only does it continue to get better with each book, but Miss Harris continues to give her readers incredibly drool worthy and panty melting heroes that will never fail to get your hearts pumping. Not one of her heroes sound the same, and I truly appreciate that. She writes strong heroines, dirty talking heroes, heart pounding suspense, and so much steam your kindle might catch fire.

There is nothing I love more than an enemy to lovers trope, and this book delivered this in spades. Grace Cambell is the beloved daughter of a US senator. She may have lived a privileged life, but that doesn't mean she doesn't work for what she does. She might be a little uppity and a whole lot nerdy, but that doesn't take away from her brilliance as a research scientist. But when her research leads her to discover a super virus that she intends to find an antibiotic for, there are less than noble forces out there that want to weaponize it. After Grace gets accosted by an armed man in the parking lot of her work, her father refuses to take risks with her life and calls in a favor with HOT.
He knew her kind- born with a silver spoon and unimpressed with anyone she deemed beneath her.

Garrett "Iceman" Spencer is a special ops soldier for an elite military agency. The last thing he wants to be doing is playing babysitter to a privileged princess, but when his commander tells him to jump, he asks how hight. But it's not long before he begins to see beyond Grace's uptight personality, to the passionate woman beneath. Unfortunately even if Grace wasn't hands off because of his assignment, he also has no desire to give himself over into the clutches of another woman. His ex-wife had made sure of that.
But even if he hadn't been ordered not to get involved with her, it wasn't a good idea. She was a senator's daughter, a scientist, and he was a guy with a fucked-up history, an ex-wife who hated him, and a daughter he adored above all else.

As much as I loved Garrett, I liked Grace just as much. She may be an introvert at heart and a woman that's unsure of her sexual appeal, but she also had a backbone of steal and she wasn't afraid to go after what she wants. It's not long before the chemistry that's brewing between them gets to a boiling point that neither of them can deny.

Sex had never felt so good, so necessary to her existence before now. Anything he wanted, she would give him. Anything, just to feel one tenth of the pleasure she felt right now.

When bullets begin to fly and they realize Grace's life is in even more danger than they all thought, Garrett is determined to protect her at all costs. He'll lay down his life for her, but his heart is still off limits. Even though Grace always gives into the passion between them, that's not to say that she's a doormat. Quite the opposite actually; she definitely gives as good as she gets.
We all have complicated lives, Garrett. That's what life is- complicated, messy, joyful, thrilling, heartbreaking, exciting. It's all those things rolled into one, and sometimes it's easy and sometimes it's not. You don't have a monopoly on complicated, so get over yourself.

I really enjoyed this latest installment of the HOT series. It was sexy, it was action packed and quick paced, and it was entertaining. I'm not sure why, but I found the revelation of who the bad guys were to be a little anti-climactic. That may have been because I kept building certain things up in my head while trying to figure it out. I have to say that I love all these little nibbles that the author keeps giving us of the mysterious Ian Black. I can only hope that he'll soon get a book of his own.

Grace and Garrett may not have been my favorite couple in the series, but they're definitely still up there. Their banter was great and their chemistry was even better. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait until the next.
For a man with a dirty mouth, you sure are a poet sometimes."

I've been a fan of Lynn Raye Harris' Hostile Operations Team Series for a while now, but I never reviewed the books. The thing is, they are my ultimate guilty pleasure quick reads I sneak in when I'm between books or find myself in a book funk. While Hot Ice is not necessarily my favourite in the series I really liked it and I thought I write down a few lines, just in case some of you might like to look into this series.

It's nothing world moving, but I do love a good military themed romance book every once in a while - and as far as that romance trope goes the execution is top notch. Honestly, they get it all. A hot alpha hero who saves the day, kick-ass female characters who are no damsels in distress by any means and a lot of mystery and action on top. What's not to like?

“You're a jerk.”
...“Come on, honey. You can say it. You think I'm an
asshole.

So, what is the Hostile Operations Team, or H.O.T.?

A group of highly trained special forces soldiers tasked with keeping their county safe while flying completely under the radar. And they are damn good at their jobs, unless women are involved. In that case they loose their heads and things get out of control and religiously single guys end up hitched in a hot second. Each book revolves around another member of the team.

The books can technically be read as a standalone, since every 'relationship' gets wrapped up in a neat bow, but there are references to past events and a few reoccurring big-bads.

The seventh instalment tells Iceman's story. The stoic and very private teammate who only joined a year ago after one of the men was killed in action.

“You're a pain in the ass, you know that?”
“And you're a filthy-mouthed nerdy girl I'd like to lick from head to toe the very next chance I get.”

Grace Campbell is a brilliant scientist who specialises in sensitive viral genetics research. She is also the daughter of the newly announced prime Candidate for the American Presidency, Senator Campbell. Unfortunately her father's political endeavours shine a light on her work and not only the media, but also a few unsavoury people found out about the possible dangerous implications of her findings. The good Doctor is in desperate need for protection.

Clue in her new soldier bodyguard...the one she really doesn't want. And especially not this arrogant, foul-mouthed prick who looks so god damn delicious in a tux.

“What am I gonna do? Every fucking thing I shouldn't, cupcake. Because I'm a man with a hard-on, and my give-a-shit factor is pretty low right now.”

Garrett “Iceman” Spencer has no need for a spoiled rich girl, and shadowing her 24/7 is the last thing he wants to do, but he is a good soldier and even better at following orders.
His cynical view on women on the other hand is shaped by his failed marriage and the bitch of an ex-wife, who tries everything in her power to keep his daughter from him and bad-mouth him whenever she can.

Naturally it doesn't take long for his prejudices to be refuted and there is an undeniable attraction between Grace and the Iceman, but that doesn't mean he can act on it...after all he is under orders to stay away. But can they keep their distance when lives are threatened and the two are forced to escape danger again and again?

“Part of him wanted to laugh--temptation? Since when had Grace Campbell gone from spoiled pain in the ass to temptation?”

I really enjoyed Garett's and Grace's relationship. They come from such different worlds and yet, they can find common ground. Grace is such a strong, but also sweet and caring person and she has no problem to melt his ice and get right into the Iceman's heart.

A fun read, well written and a worthy part of a fantastic series. My only objection would be the ending. It felt rushed and the reveal was a bit like a cop out, but oh well...you can't have it all.

Definitely looking forward to read Flash's book.

Grace has unintentionally created a super virus that is highly contagious, super deadly and with no cure in sight, a weapon of mass destruction if it gets into the wrong hands. Now that her father has announces his plans to run for president, her work is being scrutinized and pulled apart at the seams by the media and a panicking public. When she gets accosted outside her work place, her father calls in a favor and gets her a bodyguard.

Garrett isn’t thrilled to be babysitting a politician’s daughter. After a bitter divorce and constant drama from his ex, Garret is firmly entrenched in the “all women are the same” camp and has sworn off relationships. His team has nicknamed him the Iceman and it fits him to a tee. Because Grace reminds him of his ex, Garrett reads Grace the wrong way right from the start and takes her shyness and reserved personality as being snobby and spoiled. He goes out of his way to antagonize her just to get a reaction from her. When they find themselves on the run, both their walls come down and they get to know each other as real people.

The first half of this book was not my favorite. Garrett's stubborn tunnel vision when it came to Grace was so ridiculous! Maybe because I am freakishly shy and find myself in similiar awkward situations like Grace and have a hard time doing the whole "small talk" thing when meeting new people, but his rash judgement of her got under my skin. I wish he'd been more understanding and less of a jerk to her.

During the second half of the book, Garrett realizes that Grace isn't anything like he'd thought she would be. He begins to understand her actions and reactions to the situations around her and grew to respect her. I liked that part. Watching him question for the first time, how different people can preceive the same scenario in completely different ways was a step in the right direction for him. Also I love when opposites attract and Nice Garrett was perfect for Grace.

I could have done without his mentions of how manwhore-ish he's been since divorcing his ex (of barely six months) and I really hated when he mentions how "crazy hot" the sex was with his ex was . . . to the the h! TMI dude! TMI!

. . . she felt a little spear of jealousy that he'd had great sex with his ex. Or with anyone besides her.

And this is why I don't enjoy mentions of OW/OM or the H/h's past sex partners. It's just not cool! So although I finished it and it wasn't horrible, I don't see myself re-reading this one any time soon.

I love Lynn’s books and read both those from Harlequin (Mills & Boon) and her self-published range and am loving the H.O.T. series. Each time she announces a new story I wonder if it will be as good as previous ones, but as soon as I read it I realise I needn’t have worried and am amazed how she keep’s coming up with different plots and characters making each story such a good read!

This time around we got to read Garrett’s (Iceman) story. To keep it brief without giving away too many spoilers Garrett is chosen to protect Grace, a senator’s daughter who is a scientist and has recently discovered how to create a super virus and is targeted by terrorists. Garrett is always very ‘cool’ and relaxed hence the name Iceman but he soon warmed up once he met Grace, he thought she was the typical spoiled rich girl born with a silver spoon in her mouth, but that view changed pretty quickly after meeting her.

When I was asked if I wanted this story I jumped at the chance and devoured it in a short space of time, it was fast paced and a very easy read with an excellent story.

If you like reading hot RS and haven’t tried this series yet then why not pick up (The H.O.T. Sampler) which is currently free on Amazon UK & US. The sampler gives the first three chapters of all 7 current books (including this one) in the series!

Lynn Raye Harris never fails to disappoint readers with her impressive romantic suspense series, The Hostile Operations Team series. Each novel can be read as a stand alone or in series order. Each book features a different couple and a completely different plot that keeps readers on the edge of their seats. Hot Ice is the seventh book in this series.

Hot Ice features Garrett “Iceman” Spencer from the team. He is known for his ice cold demeanor and stand off attitude. Garrett has been through a very bitter divorce that has left his heart frozen. The only thing Garrett really truly cares about outside of his work is his young daughter. When he is assigned to protect a prominent Senator’s daughter because of his upbringing and social background, he is pissed. He has no use for a haughty spoiled princesses. He has been there and done that. His new assignment will be a complete surprise. It may even thaw his frozen heart.

Grace Campbell is the daughter of a prominent Senator that has become a presidential hopeful. She is also a brilliant doctor and research scientist. Her research consists of creating a super virus. She is a quiet, shy, and resilient woman. She would rather be in a lab than in the political limelight. Her father’s political aspirations force her to keep up her social appearances. Her father’s announcement of running for president has brought her negative attention concerning her career. It has also put her in jeopardy.

After an attack at the lab, Grace is assigned a special bodyguard from H.O.T. , Garrett Spencer. On the surface he is intimidating and scary. She also finds this tattooed man intriguing and downright sexy. What surprises her the most is the real man under the façade he shows the world.

As the plot thickens, Grace’s life is threatened, and danger lurks at every turn, the sexual tension builds between the two. Once they give in to their attraction to one another their passion ignites. These two are burning up the sheets and searing their hearts.

Hot Ice was packed full of action and suspense as well as red hot passion. Lynn Raye Harris has mastered the craft of writing romantic suspense. She has added a whole new dimension with her scorching love scenes and red hot romance.

I highly recommend this book. I highly recommend this series. These books are guaranteed to deliver a thrilling, exciting, smoldering romance.

There are two things that can cause an ongoing series to start to lose its shine by book 7 - one being that books can start to get repetitive and the second being the sometimes never ending wait (1-2 years in some cases) between books can make me lose interest. I'm thrilled to say neither of these apply to Lynn Raye Harris and her H.O.T. Series. "Hot Ice" was Hot hot hot.

Garrett "Iceman" Spencer turned out not to be the iceman we all thought he was, and Grace Campbell had a lot more going for her than just her fathers money and position.

I loved Grace and I could relate to her (not being drop dead gorgeous like most heroines and somewhat of an introvert myself). She didn't take crap from Ice, called him on his crap, but was able to follow orders without having a 10 minute argument about it. (Nothing puts me off more than a heroine who thinks she knows more that the highly trained guy sent to protect her).

Garrett *sigh*, my favourite type of guy. Alpha male when it counted, but the heart of a kitty cat with those he loves. And he can dance. Enough said.

My only wish was that we got to see more of the team, but I loved the set up I could see happening for the next book 'Hot and Bothered' featuring Ryan "flash" Gordon. We also got to see Ian Black again and I have to admit he has me intrigued.

After seven books my interest in the HOT guys isn't waining in the slightest and I'm once again counting down the days till the next instalment.

Hot Ice by Lynn Raye Harris is a 2015 publication. I was provided a copy of this book by the author and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

We've all had those times in our lives of “when it rains, if pours”. That where Grace Campbell finds herself . For starters her top secret work creating super viruses is on hold after it becomes clear she is the potential target of terrorist who would love to get their hands on her lab work.
Her father is a senator who is also a presidential hopeful, which has now placed Grace in the spotlight more than ever, and has the media hot on her trail.
To top all of that off, her father has insisted she be placed on 24/7 guard. If that weren't bad enough, she gets the oh so charming and foul mouthed, sexist Garrett Spencer who has made it abundantly clear he is not impressed with her or his new assignment, which is beneath him.

Garrett Spencer is HOT alright... hot under the collar. He can't believe he has to babysit the rich and spoiled rotten daughter of the senator. But, he intends to do this job no matter what.. even if the high and mighty Grace Campbell would rather not have him around, which she has made abundantly clear that she doesn't.

But, sparks fly as the pair spend more time together. Although Garrett repeatedly reminds Grace they can't not get involved, the shy and socially awkward Grace seems to come out of her shell around Garrett, and just might have other plans....

I did not get off to a good start with Garrett Spenser. Why? Military men use certain “colorful metaphors” that might make your ears burn, but when on the job they are disciplined and professional. Garret was not. He slung expletives at the daughter of a senator, only moments after meeting her. No matter how snooty he thought she was, he did not put the military in the best light. Cursing AT women, as opposed to cursing in general, is something I am sort of sensitive about. I thought he came on way too strong, and was scary.

But, it wasn't long before he stepped up and did something so cool for Grace, something so hot, and so funny, I knew he was just a big teddy bear deep down. Once I got the whole story about his personal life, I did finally start to warm up to him.

I do wish the mystery part of the story had been more fleshed out and the suspense level more tense. I have said many times that RS is kind of tricky, because it can lean too heavy in one area or the other. In this case the romance was the main focus and the suspense level was way down on the totem pole.

I did enjoy the story for the most part and Lynn Raye Harris has been one of my “automatic read” authors for the past couple of years. If you love sexy alpha military guys, super hot and spicy romance, with a slice of danger on the side, then you should definitely check into this series. ( These can be read as stand alone novels, but I strongly recommend you read them all.) Overall this one gets a 3.5 rounded to 4 .

"I’m amazed a woman like you could even be interested in me—but you are, and I thank God for it. I may not be worthy, but I’m going to do my best every day to let you know how grateful I am for you. Because I love you, Grace. I love you. I didn’t want to, but I do." - Garrett Spencer

I am SO glad I decided not to give up on Garrett's book when I thought it wasn't as exciting as the rest of them!

Garrett "Iceman" Spencer had once told his friend, Nick, that there was no woman good enough for him to keep returning to (ok, in not so polite words, but anyway). Now, he knows he might have to eat those words after meeting the last woman on Earth he should ever find attractive. Grace Campbell is a senator's daughter, an Ice Queen with the voice and manners to match, and an awkward, antisocial geeky scientist. He shouldn't find her so damn irresistible. But he does, and he now has to decide whether it's worth it risking his heart after his ex-wife has roughed him up the way she did.

Garrett was not one of my favorites in the team. Certainly not after that cocky speech about golden pussies and all that in the previous book. But he turned out to be a decent man, and a devoted father, so I guess I warmed up to him. His charm was considerably good, too, and that helped a lot in my accepting him at least a little.

But he was not as good a character as Grace was. This woman was the reason this book got a solid 5! Grace was... she was all of us! The readers, I mean. She was sassy, and geeky, and a workaholic. She preferred books and movies and pizza to being with people. She had a dirty mouth, but the voice and tone of a Queen, she was timid and had low self-esteem, but kick her in the wrong place, and she was bound to start kicking you back. I related to Grace so much it nearly freaked me out!

More than her personality as an individual, I loved how she was with Garrett. She loved him, yes, but she never lost her dignity or sarcasm or self-respect for his sake. She didn't play mind games, and she was honest and upfront from the very beginning. And when Garrett kept comparing her to his ex-wife, she set him straight. When he used Melissa as an excuse to act like a jerk, she had none of it and called his bullshit as she saw it. Magnificent, really, and something I had longed for lately.

Lynn Raye Harris has surpassed herself with this one. Hope the next book lives up to its glory!

Hot Ice is the 7th book in Lynn Raye Harris' awesome Hostile Operations Team Series. A military style romantic suspense series with smart, unique heroines and strong, sexy heroes.. Each book has a unique intensity that plays the hero and heroine and yet remains part of the whole.. A job well done.

Grace Campbell is the daughter of privilege her father is considering running for President of the United States. Fancy balls, special dinners with the politically elite and schmoozing with the best of the best and Grace hates all of it. She prefers being the shy, geeky girl and spend all her time in the lab. When her special virus, created to help cure the flu, gets all sorts of international notice. Grace's life goes from semi normal to totally insane! Now her father wants her to have a bodyguard, a sexy as all get out bodyguard but a bodyguard nonetheless..

Garrett “Iceman” Spencer loathes spoiled little rich girls. He's seen enough of them and his ex-wife is the queen of them all. Now he is forced to deal with acting as a bodyguard for another such miss. And the reason he got pegged for babysitting duty? His mother taught cotillion and Garrett spent many years as the extra male. In short, he knows what fork to use. He is so never going to live that one down. Garrett might resent the duty but is sure it won't really affect him.. Only one look at Grace and the Iceman started melting..

The action, suspense and pure passion in this book is exceptional. Once again Ms. Harris writes a book worth reading. The men on her H.O.T. team are truly steamworthy and the women?? Well what's not to like? These aren't vapid females with a case of the vapors.. nope they are strong, intelligent, resilient women..

In Hot Ice, the enemy is out to discover a biological weapon and won't stop until they succeed. Garrett and Grace must forge a bond that will take them through the fires of hell.. One tattooed, musclebound bodyguard and one shy, reserved, scientist alone against the world. What could go wrong? Or better yet? What will go right?

I am totally loving this series and so happy that Ms. Harris' team wanted my review. In my book, Ms. Harris rises to the top of the Military Suspense genre!!

I read this as part of the "Feel the Heat" collection, and thus I'm out of sequence.

This is a solid special forces meets innocent woman story. The soldier has issues, but they weren't too angsty and the woman was strong and understanding, if naive. The plot was intriguing, and oddly relevant as it deals with an H1N1 virus, and I'm reading it in 2020 (pub 2015). The rest of the HOT team is well established and follows the usual organization of characters and skills. The scene where the women who caught their men in previous books gather around the newbie was amusing.

So now I'm off to read #1 (free!) in hopes that this is a new series I can enjoy.

Lynn Raye Harris is back with another totally awesome installment in the HOT series. This time we meet Grace Campbell , the daughter of a United States senator and leading a very privileged life. She moves within the social circles of the rich and famous.

But underneath all that little rich girl look she is also a scientist and when someone learns she possesses the knowledge necessary to create a new super virus capable of destroying entire nations, she becomes a target for terror groups and foreign governments everywhere.

Garret" Iceman" Spencer did so not join the army 's elite HOT to babysit some spoiled little rich girl, but as we all know when superiors speak there is no other choice but to comply.

And so Iceman finds himself babysitting Grace , what shocks him the most is when he discovers Grace is far from dull and underneath the glasses and serious scowl there's a woman hotter than any other he 's ever come across, and even though he has been burned before he still wants to jump right into the flame that Grace clearly is.

But the job comes first and above all he needs to keep her alive and secondly keep his hands off her , it's a full time job but hey someone has to do it, failure is not an option and as a member of HOT he will not fail, he will keep he alive at all costs , keeping his hands off her now that's a lot tougher!

Lynn Raye Harris has become the number one author for me when it comes to super hot , delicious and sizzling romantic suspense, the woman simply never fails me . I always walk away at the end of the books with everything I wanted. The action, the suspense, the scorching hot romance and best of all each and every time it's a new exciting plot with new twists and turns that simply enthralls me every time and brings me great reading joy !

In this read , book number seven in the HOT series I was transported back into that super sexy dark and mysterious world of men giving their all to protect at all costs and complete the mission without fail. As I have always said there is simply just something so much sexier about a man on a mission than anything else and this author nails it each and every darn time, no idea how but am loving it!

Iceman was all that and more, I could not get enough of this man and at the end of the read I wanted more , more, more I tell you! Now without spoiling this read for anyone because believe me you HAVE TO READ IT, all I will add is if you love romance with kick ass adventure, explosive sex, emotionally heartwarming tenderness and a off the hook plot, you will love this book. Sexy, captivating and one of the very best in the romantic suspense genre, read it and thank me later !

I absolutely love book 7 a awesome addition to the HOT series. It was just something about Garrett "Iceman" Spencer and Dr. Grace Campbell together. The book is full of drama, suspense and lots of action. Grace is a shy scientist who has created a supervirus and now someone is after her for it. In comes HOT to the rescue. Garrett is sent in the protect her. He's not happy to have to babysit the princess. In the beginning Garrett tried to maintain that ice facade but Grace and her shyness started to melt it. The more danger, the more protective Garrett got and his resistence lowered until he had to have her no matter the direct order to stay away. When those two get together it was like fire, super hot sex scenes. Grace went from prim and proper to freak in the sheets. Loved it. I love when they were on the run it just showed Garrett how wrong he was about Grace. It was really nice to see that Garrett was a loving father and how hard it is when a divorce occurs. I was happy to see Colonel Mendez as part of the mission. Hope to see a book on him one day. The mystery behind Ian Black is crazy because you don't know what to believe when it comes to him but I hope he is on the right side and would love to see a book on him to find him someone to love and to explain the real story behind Ian Black. This is a must read story and a must read series. Looking forward to book 8 Hot and Bothered Ryan "Flash" and Emily Royal???. Hurry!!!!

I've read every book in this series and loved all the previous ones. I love this book just as much. Iceman deserved a happily ever after since his ex is a witch with a capital B. Grace was certainly no spoiled princess, and didn't let Garrett walk over her. Plenty of action, suspense, sex and love. Great addition to this series. There were hints for future books my vote goes for Mendez.

The hero: "Fuck you, Melissa!"[…] He slammned the cell onto the table. He picked it back up, prepared to dial her sorry ass up again and tell her she was a fucking bitch and a whore.
[…]
He had made the bad decision to fuck her repeatedly nine years ago. (They are parents now)
[…]
"Yeah, I´m fine. Just a relationship gone wrong."
(another teammate) looked at him with one arched eyebrown. And then he laughed. "Relationship? Didn´t know you did those. So far as I can tell, you fuck anything that moves-but only once."

This is not sexy. This is chauvinist. I really, really, really pity the would-be heroine.

The men of HOT are strong, dedicated, and brave, but as you would expect they have a ton of issues. If you read Hot Rebel then you knew that Garrett was going to fall next … and fall hard. The man has himself tied up in so many knots that it is going to take a very special woman to reach him. And I’m SO glad that Grace is that woman.

I think Grace has to be one of my characters in this series (and that is saying a lot). She’s strong but unsure of herself, a fish out of water in most situations, but she’s got a level head and a lot of grit. Garrett isn’t one for sharing, internalizing his troubles and pain, but time spent with Grace quickly changes that. On the run and in very close quarters, he finds it hard to resist her. The interactions between these two are the perfect mixture of humor, caring and heat. It’s a fantastic ride from how they rubbed each other the wrong way at their first meeting to falling into bed together.

And as much as I enjoy seeing these guys fall in love, I’m also kept on the edge of my seat by the danger they find themselves in. I can’t decide if I like her stories more for the romance or for the action. Full of danger and intrigue, complicated Alphas and the women they fall for, oh-so-steamy sex scenes and emotions galore, Harris’s books pack quite a punch.

This is another great addition to the author's HOT series! The story is told from alternating points of view between Garrett and Grace (and a bonus pov from Ryan/Flash!).

The author immediately sweeps you into a suspenseful plot with great tension between two characters who are each other's opposites. The focus of Grace's medical research hits a little close to home in the real world (ebola, supervirus, etc.), but doesn't send you running to hole up in a cabin in Montana with some conspiracy theorists. Every time I read a book by the author I'm reminded how much I love a good romance/suspense story. Lately I've read a lot of dark, needlessly angsty, erotica that's drawn out over multiple books. The HOT series reminds me of the good ol' days (Julie Garwood, Suzanne Brockmann, etc.) where I can immerse myself in a story and feel satisfied at the end. All that to say, it can easily be read as a standalone, but you do see some of the previous characters and potentially a teaser for a character or two in a future book (Ryan/Emily!).

I'm still intrigued with the mysterious Ian Black and am hopping around in my chair hoping we get his book sooner than later!!

I received a copy of this story through NetGalley from the author/publisher for an honest review (thank you!!!).

On my!! The only thing I can say is Hot Ice is another wonderful book by Lynn Raye Harris about the Hostile Operations Team (H.O.T.)!! Hot Ice is book #7 in the series and is a great addition to the series.. This book has Grace Campbell who is the daughter of a U.S. senator, who is a scientist with the knowledge to create a supervirus. When Grace is threatened her dad asks the H.O.T. leader(Mendez) to assign one of his men to protect Grace and be her bodyguard. Garrett "Iceman" Spencer is chosen for this assignment and he is not happy. Garrett does not want to protect a woman who he thinks is a prima donna, stuckup and cold. Little does he know Grace is none of these things. Also we find out Garrett isn't an "Iceman" once he gets to know Grace, he is one HOT alpha tattooed male and we find out that Grace has hidden fire in her. When they are on the the run things become combustible. This book has it all mystery, action, hot sex and love. Like I said a great addition to the series. Looking forward to more of the Hostile Operations Team especially Mendez, I would love to see a book about him.
I received an ARC for a honest review but this series is a must buy for me anyway. I really enjoy the books by Lynn Raye Harris.

The thread of Ian Black continues to course through this book and I made a O_O face, screamed and shouted!

Grace is a Scientist -- Daughter of a Senator running for Presidency , Iceman is given as her security detail and my god did I fall head over heels for Sgt Spencer!

Lynn's females are brilliantly written, no whiners or damsels in distress, they hold their own against their Alpha males.

I now have to wait for the next book and this doesn't sit well with my HOT addiction!

Such a good book! I adored everything about Garrett’s story! Action packed with all of my favorite things; badA female is threatened which leads her to needing a bodyguard, said bodyguard is insanely attractive (with tats) and a single dad, said bodyguard is also hell bent on protecting said badA female, yet as usual denies his feelings.

Garrett was one I was really excited to learn about because he was pretty secretive in all the other books. We def learn a lot about him and his past and it just makes you adore him. He’s a loving father to his daughter and is scared that she won’t like him as she grows older due to his ex wife poisoning her mind.

Grace is a research doctor who appears stuck up and snotty due to her parents being rich and her dad being a nominee for the presidential election. Turns out she’s not any of those and is a badA who knows when to take orders but also knows when to stick up for herself and say no.

These two take a journey and their attraction to each other is literally sizzling!

One thing I love about these books is we not only see the past guys but we also see their girls just as much. The girls have all become best friends and are always there for the new girl, they can even tell now when they’re about to get another addition to the HOT girls. I love getting to catch up with everyone and see what they’re all up to!

Grace Campbell the daughter of United States Senator is a scientist creating a super virus that could destroy nations. When she is almost attacked outside her lab her father wants the best protection possible.

Garrett “Iceman” Spencer is one the HOT specialist who didn’t join the elite black ops group to baby sit a spoiled senator’s daughter. As Garrett is sent to protect the princess he finds a shy woman who might be able to thaw his heart.

I have read several HOT novels and each one has hot sex scenes, enough Alpha males to drive a sane women crazy, lots of action and more sex. What I have enjoyed about the HOT series is each book is its own entity so the reader can start on book three and know what is going on in book 7. The reader will never be lost because even the background mystery or story that started in book 5 carries forward with HOT's men retelling with a different view points again keeping the reader updated so new readers to the series will not be lost.

HOT ICE isn’t my favorite in this series because I feel the story disappeared when the characters jumped in the sack. The story instead revolved around each sexual encounter with a little story thrown in so you could remember why Iceman and Grace where found in different place to have sex.

Lynn Rayed Harries knows how to write a sex scene there is no question about that but I really could have used more story. I felt the book was 85-90% sex. (Either the act, thinking or leading up to sex.) I almost felt lost in why they were running until it was mentioned because of the countless hot sex scenes.

I like the HOT commanding officer Méndez best quote in the book that reflects the entire series. “Every F***ing time. If there’s a woman involved, you assholes loses your minds.”

The writing style is what readers expect from Lynn Rayed Harries. Lots of snappy dialogue between Grace and Garrett which I found quite fun. Thankful there was enough reference to the movie bodyguard to make me realize this was Lynn Raye Harries personal version. Lots of clinch moments that would have had me rolling my eyes if not for the reference to the movie bodyguard reminding me again this was her personal version.

If you enjoyed the other books in the HOT series this is a can’t miss. Lots of steamy sex scenes to get the read though the long winter nights.

I joked with the incredible Lynn Raye Harris I was going to write a review that was going to be WOW! That's it! Just WOW! Why? Because there are no words to describe just how freakin WOW Hot Ice is! I figured if I wrote WOW everyone would know what I meant! My theory is totally blown out the water with the lovely Desere's review but may I just say WOW!

Garret "Iceman" Spencer is given the job of being Grace Campbell's bodyguard. Her Dad knows the boss and there's no backing out of this command. Grace is someone Garret sees as nothing but a rich and snobby Senator's daughter. He wants to be out blowing sh!t up, NOT babysitting, it's the last job on earth that he wants to do.

Grace is not just a Senator's daughter, she's a successful scientist who is doing some research the badies want to cause her serious harm to get. Grace is not snobby and yes, although her family is of wealth, she pays her own way. And if Garret thinks he doesn't want to be anywhere near the city lights, he's feeling nothing close to what Grace thinks of her current situation. She does NOT need a babysitter and thinks her father is out of her mind.

For someone smart Garret sure shakes his head at the dumb things Grace does. And that there is a great example of the absolutely brilliant moments of humor that is sprinkled through Hot Ice. I laughed so much. Hot Ice isn't a comedy, it's full of sass and humor that I really enjoyed. The sass and humor combined with the non stop action and the brilliant characters made for a story I didn't want to stop! I loved that Garret got his story and I can-not-wait for #8!

I know I say this every-time I read one of Lynn Raye Harris's Hot series, but honestly, they just get better and better. You think it can't possibly because the last is just so full of awesomeness that hello, yes it can! Honestly, I can't find the words to describe how much I loved Hot Ice!

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC to provide my honest opinion. I hope the above certifies my honest opinion is 6 stars - Keep em coming Lynn Raye Harris - PUUUHHLEASE!!!

Advanced Readers Copy Courtesy of Author via Netgalley...:)

Lets start by saying first Oh My Freaking Hell this book was AWESOME!!! Seriously how does this author make these books hotter and hotter each and every single time.

Her books always encompass the holy trifecta for me, which is a) a hot/alpha male with a broody/moody disposition that will have to work hard for the heroine to fall for him. b) A heroine who is kick ass, and knows what she wants and fights for it. c) A story line with lots of action that reads like a Michael Bay movie and enough steamy scenes to melt your ummm kindle!!!!! In other words, THIS BOOK!!!!!

This is the 7th one in the Hostile Operations Series and its about Garrett "Iceman" Spencer.....and yes his nickname is Iceman because his heart is like a block of ice. He was badly screwed over by his ex wife, and now he keeps his encounters to one night and one night only with the ladies.....that is of course till he meets his latest assignment, Grace Campbell.

She is a geneticist, whose father is also a US Senator who is going to run for the Presidency. When she is almost kidnapped, her father calls in the boys from HOT to protect his "little princess"

These 2 are like chalk and cheese, but after all opposites attract, and attract they do.....

As I said this if fast paced from start to finish and I was hanging on by the edge of my seat the whole time. I really loved this book and cannot recommend this series enough, especially if you love Romantic Suspense.

Cant wait for the 8th book and here is hoping it is Ryan, a.k.a Flash's book....

So what does it take to melt the Iceman...apparently a smart, introverted bookworm! Garrett "Iceman" Spencer is chosen to watch Dr. Grace Campbell when it appears that she is being targeted for kidnapping. Of course we learn that he is chosen because he has been through Junior Cotillion many times (his mom teaches it) so he is not likely to embarrass himself around Grace's Senator father. So now we have a tattooed bad boy who secretly knows his way around a salad fork and can waltz...WOO-HOO!

Garrett has had problems with his ex-wife when dealing with his daughter so he has decided that a relationship is off limits for him. Grace is more likely to be holed up in her lab or reading a book at home than on a hot date. When they first meet, Garrett thinks Grace is a stuck up princess and Grace just thinks Garrett is an asshole. It doesn't take long for the two to realize that they may have jumped to judgement though.

Through all of the escapes and craziness, Garrett finds that Grace is not a spoiled princess (although she can put on a good imitation) and is nothing like his ex-wife.

Love of course wins the day and another member of the HOT team gets claimed.

Best line of the book though goes to Colonel Mendez..."Sergeant, when a midshipman calls you a pussy, just smile and tell him that you are what you eat. Got it?"

This series gets better all the time! The most recent books starting with "Hot Shot" have been my favorites. Can't wait for the next one!

This is the seventh book in the Hostile Operations Team (H.O.T) and it follows Garrett Spencer and Grace Campbell.

What happens when fire and ice collide? You get a huge ball of steam…

Meet the lovely Grace Campbell who leads an extremely privileged life. Grace is the daughter of a United States senator. Grace moves in the social circles of both the rich and the famous. Grace is also a top scientist. When someone learns she possesses all the knowledge necessary to create a new and dangerous super virus which is capable of destroying entire nations of the world. Grace becomes a high profile target for terrorists groups and also foreign governments.

The heart-stopping Garrett “Iceman” Spencer didn’t join the Army’s most elite Hostile Operations Team just to be a babysitter to a very spoiled rich girl. when Garrett's superiors definitely insisting on assigning him to protect the senator’s daughter Grace as security detail. Garrett realises that he has no choice but to comply with their requests.

It’s a huge shock to find beneath the glasses and what seems as a serious scowl, Grace burns red hot. Garrett, has been burned before, decides he needs to suddenly wants to immerse himself in the flames that is Grace.

Can Garrett keep Grace alive and try to keep his eyes and hands off her It's a demanding full-time job for this HOT soldier. For the HOT soldiers failure is not in their vocabulary

I Love Lynn Raye Harris. If i could give more than 5 * i could but again i have to settle for 5

Hot is definitely the right word for the title of this book. Although I have read some of the books in this series, I haven't read them all. Thankfully, they work well as standalones. This one was by far the sexiest one I've read yet. The "Iceman" meets the woman he believes is the spoiled and haughty ice queen. He has been assigned to protect her, but he can't help comparing her to his manipulative ex wife. Grace is an ultra introvert scientist who had a secret everyone wants. She has difficulty interacting with others and completely lacks self esteem. Garrett, Iceman, has enough self confidence for them both, however, he reads Grace's discomfort as disdain. The two end up on the run together, and Garrett begins to see more in Grace than he though was there. Unfortunately for their relationship, he allows sex to become primary and tramples Grace's feelings. Fighting off those who want to steal Grace's research and use it as a weapon, the couple runs further away from anyone who could help them. In the end, they are left to determine whether their relationship is just sex or something more permanent.

I enjoyed the combo of sexy foul mouthed Garrett and timid Grace. She toned him down, and he heated her up. The language was about what you would expect for military style suspense. The sex was frequent but didn't take over the plot. Overall, I thought it was a wonderful addition to the series.

Hot Ice by Lynn Raye Harris is a wild suspenseful ride, literally. While trying to protect Grace, Ice Man, Garrett, takes her on an around about road trip trying to arrive at the HOT Headquarters. This gives them plenty of time to get to know each other while the reader gets to see into their heads. On the trip their baggage from the past is revealed. They couldn't have been more different but yet fit together perfectly. The author does a wonderful job of showing how perception can influence the way some people treat others. Grace is certainly a victim of this. Both characters have to fight to overcome some perceived misconceptions.

While the focus is on the blazing chemistry and intense romance between Grace and Garrett the author brings up deeper issues. The dilemma over the virus that has been created by Dr. Grace Campbell has a scary ring of real possibility. The political intrigue and “just who can you trust” with so many different agendas in play adds to the complexity this story.

This book ties well into the others in the series. It is good to again catch up with the others from the previous books. On its own, Hot Ice is very self-contained and enjoyable without having read the HOT Series. However, I would think that if this is the first book you read, you would definitely want to read the others, too.

Hot Ice

Dr. Grace Campbell is the daughter of a U.S. Senator and also a scientist. When it's learned that she possesses knowledge to create a virus that can cause major destruction to nations she becomes a target.

Garrett "Iceman" Spencer is given the assignment of protecting Grace, which he's not very happy about.

His commander has told him to protect Grace at all costs and also told to keep his hands off of her. Garrett soons finds it difficult to keep his hands to himself because Grace is not anything like he thought. But because he's been burned in a previous relationship he's determined to never fall for someone again.

This is a great series!
