Nadine I'm twenty-four, living in my mama's single-wide, and my boyfriend of eight years just walked down the aisle with somebody else. Broke, single, and stuck in a job that's going nowhere fast, I figure things can't possibly get any worse. Then Carmen Salazar walks in like a twisted fairy godmother with an offer I have absolutely no business accepting — a new job, good money, and the chance to headline the exclusive underground auction at her members-only gentleman's club. I'm fresh out of options and pride is a luxury I can't afford right now. I just didn't expect him.
Reynolds I'm the most handsome mayor in Georgia, possibly the youngest, and according to my campaign manager, I have a reputation that could derail my entire re-election if I'm not careful. She puts me on the straight and narrow and I fully intend to stay there.
Then I walk into my best friend's club, see the most beautiful woman I've ever seen, and completely lose the ability to form a sentence.
She's a hostess. I'm a sitting mayor with everything to lose. My campaign manager would have an absolute fit. I should walk away, focus on the election, and forget I ever saw her.
But when her name appears on the auction list, walking away stops being an option. I don't care what it costs. She's not going to someone else.
What could possibly go wrong?
Auctioned to the Billionaire Mayor is the first book in Rayna Azure's scorching Billionaire Romance series — steamy, funny, and completely addictive. Features multiple open-door spicy scenes, voyeurism, coarse language, and a guaranteed HEA. No cliffhanger. Recommended for readers 18+.
Eek! I’ll rate this 2 stars for the anger I felt reading this. The writing was fine; it has plenty of spice, but the MMC was junk. I’m talking: throw this trash man straight into a tank of acid. You’d be doing the world a favor. I wanted to do a word count of how many times he said “honey, sugar, or angel,” but I was having issues with my Kindle. He said it a lot.
Sorry in advance if this ends up being a long rant.
(Possible spoilers ahead)
This is the first book I’ve ever read where the heroine (Nadine) is shown, and we are told that she’s not smart. I seriously wondered if she had mental delays. I started to think she did, so that made me very sad after that. I’m sorry, but this heroine was not functioning with a full deck. All I ended up feeling about her was that everybody took advantage of this poor woman.
🎶That Reba McIntyre song “Fancy” kept playing in my head.
Nadine is the prettiest woman ever with big boobs. She lives with her mama in a trailer. She’s always getting fired from jobs because she’s not smart. She’s uneducated, has no hobbies, and being in her POV was painful.
The book starts where her ex has just ended things with her. He kept her a dirty little secret for years; now he’s marrying a proper woman. Nadine has to go do catering at his wedding. 🥴 (Nadine’s mom had me scratching my head throughout this book. I know she’s supposed to be a “good guy,” but she gave me the yucks.)
While at her ex’s wedding, Nadine meets a woman named Carmen. Carmen owns a smex club, and she wants Nadine to work for her. Nadine is out of options, so she agrees.
Now we meet Reynolds (the “hero”). He’s the mayor, and he’s super rich. He’s also super yuck. He hangs out at the smex club ALL THE TIME. Well, his campaign manager tells him he needs to pretend to be in a relationship with a proper woman (OW) for his upcoming election.
He runs into Nadine at the club, and he can’t stop thinking of her. 📍He thinks about her so much that he has a threesome with two women. It’s told in graphic details.
This guy is so disgusting. He spends the majority of his POV thinking about smex.
For a few weeks, Nadine is working as a hostess at the club. She also stripped. All the men want her. She can’t do anything right, and she always says the wrong thing. Y’all, it was painful. Reynolds is all over her, and he excessively calls her sugar, honey, or angel. Eek (this is supposed to be southern talk, but it didn’t work)
Eventually, Nadine is put into the auction. Whoever wins her basically agrees to be her sugar daddy for 6 months. Carmen and her 4 brothers KNOW that Reynolds wants Nadine. And yep, he wants to fk her so bad that he enter/wins the auction.
Reynolds is so horny for Nadine that he spends the whole weekend F’ing her. Then he wants to have a talk with her and remind her of the contract. Reynolds could see that Nadine was super happy that morning. 🫣 God forbid this poor woman thinks it’s more than just smex.
Well, he straightened that out ASAP! 📍Basically tells her that he is going to continue to fk women at the smex club 📍Also tells her that he has a girlfriend (OW)and he will continue to fk her 📍Tells her he will NEVER stay the night with her 📍He also tells Nadine that she will remain faithful to him. (The hypocrisy of this d-bag)
So yeah, Nadine got a brutal wake-up call. (Tbf to Reynolds- he has never slept with OW. He actually hates OW, but he doesn’t tell Nadine that)
Nadine and her POV started to really make me uncomfortable. Idk, I guess because she seemed to be mentally delayed, I felt somebody should call protection services and save this woman. Instead, we get Reynolds who continues to be a disgusting shite. He always wants to boink Nadine, but then afterwards, he makes sure he reminds her she’s just his w*ore. Technically, that’s what she was. 🤷♀️
It is spicy with role-playing and the visits to the smex club. The only thing these MCs had in common was smex.
Ofc, Reynolds gets seen with Nadine and reporters ask questions, which he denies. His POV is all about how he doesn’t have feelings for Nadine, and he’ll show her that he doesn’t. 🤡
📍53% in and Reynolds goes to the smex club without Nadine and watches others have smex. He meets some random woman and lets her take him into a room. He kisses this woman. He lets this woman jack him off. He lets this naked woman straddle his lap. He couldn’t get Nadine off his mind, so he “pulled his c*ck out of her hands.” THEN he decided to go to Nadine. He did admit to Nadine what he did with the woman at the club. She was like, okay, and they had smex. 🙇♀️🙇♀️ I started to skim at this point because this “hero” is a flaming pile of GARBAGE!
Reynolds will continue to hang out and attend public events with OW. Nadine will continue to collect friends because she’s so nice. She grows close to Carmen and Carmen’s 4 brothers (which drives Reynolds crazy with jealousy), and she grows close to all the strippers at the smex club.
So the months pass, and their contract is almost over. We are supposed to believe that Reynolds now LOVES Nadine. He tells her he loves her 🤪 and after he wins his reelection, they can publicly be together. He asked her to go with him to the mayor’s ball. Nadine is so excited, and she lives completely in delulu land.
Nadine happens to be shopping and overheard the OW also planning to attend the mayor’s ball with Reynolds. Poor dumdum heroine is heartbroken. Since the contract is over, she packs her things and leaves their condo. Carmen and the brothers help her. Reynolds loses his mind looking for her. He won’t see Nadine again until she shows up at the mayor’s ball with Carmen’s brother. Reynolds gets drunk and gets on stage to announce his love for Nadine. That was the grovel. 🥴 That was it??? Yep, because she accepts his apology.
They get married, and the book sets up the new couple. I guess it’s kind of ironic they have strippers in the wedding and stripper songs for everybody to dance to.
I assume this series is going to continue since we have some unknown serial killer and a whole bunch of strippers to marry off. The heroine’s BFF, JELLY (yes, Jelly aka Ray Ann 🙃) is up next. All the future heroes are dumpster fires that hang out at this smex club as they live there. I’m gonna assume they are all gross asf. This is where I’m jumping off this ride.
2.5 stars. Such a disappointing ending. All Reynolds had to do was get drunk and make a total fool of himself at his inaugural ball and all was forgiven.

I was so close to doing a DNR on this book. So close. I’d read 58 pages, and couldn’t stay interested but I persevered, and I’m glad I did. The book did get more interesting as I read.
This is the story of Nadine Walker and Reynolds Taylor. Nadine is from a small town and deems herself not very intelligent. She wasn’t good in school and doesn’t find it easy to learn… she has problems staying focused and is 24 still living in a trailer with her mom. When her boyfriend of eight years dumps her to marry a society woman with money, she ends up working for the caterer at her ex’s wedding and believes this is her lowest point in life. But while catering there, she meets Carmen Salazar who offers her a job at one of her sex clubs and tells Nadine that she will auction her off to a man for six months where she will make an insane amount of money, receive a car, a new home for both her and her mother along with anything and everything she ever wanted. So, she agrees and leaves with Carmen immediately.
Reynolds is the mayor of a town in Georgia, a handsome devil and a massive playboy humping about anything he can get his hands on. However, he’s up for re-election and some of the towns people are questioning his commitment because of all his playboy hands on activities. So, he hires a consultant who tells him he needs to settle down at least until after the election and find a proper woman to date… someone deemed socially acceptable. He agrees, but when he hits the sex club Nadine is at and sees her for the first time, he’s speechless. And after that, he wants her in the worst way but tells himself bidding for a woman for a six months sexual commitment is not in line with his current mayoral candidacy. So…. What to do?
Of course typical male… he thinks he can have his cake and eat it too. He finds himself a boring socialite to grace his arm while in public as he runs for his second term as mayor, and then bids on and wins Nadine in the auction and sets her up behind closed doors for his sexcapades. Only, more and more, he despises Whitney, his fake paramour, and longs to spend every waking minute with Nadine the woman of his dreams….. how will it all turn out.. pretty well.
As stated above, I did set this book aside for a day at page 58 with the intention of not finishing it. I decided to give it another try and read a few more pages, and it captured my interest at that point. The rest of the book was solid. There’s a HEA ending. 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I might have given it five if it wasnt so slow to start.
There was a lot of issues to overlook with this story but in the end they couldn't be ignored. The formatting, grammar, and punctuation errors detracted from the novel. There were a few details that changed by the end of the book. One example is the story in the book takes place in Florida, the description states Georgia. As well as a lot of repetition that wasn’t needed. The spicy scenes were alright but at some point I skimmed through them. The premise of the story seemed interesting. The lack of attention to details took away from the story. The author should spend more time polishing, and editing, the novels before publishing.
The male and female main character left a lot to be desired and lacked depth. The male lead character is a player and liar. He keeps a fake relationship going for the sake of his political career. The bigger scandal is how much money he spent to win the female lead character in an auction, on a condo, houses, cars, and to pay off her mother’s debt. I don’t see how that didn’t come out when someone intent on destroying his political career knew that.
The mystery added to this story wasn’t enough to get me to care about other books.
This book was so good and I love how well Rayne made all the characters. I love how the focus is on Reynold and Nadine but how huge all the other characters are. This was great from beginning to end and had a really good storyline. With that being said I’m a little bummed that the Salazar family does not have there own books or Will and Madeline. Hopefully they are in the works. I know Byron, daisy and jelly have their own books but to be honest I’m more interested in the Salazar as they really play a huge roll in this book. Especially Enzo!
I almost DNF’d this because, at first, I wasn’t a fan of the FMC who seemed just to be drifting through life without much direction. I’m so glad that I stuck it out though because this was a different take on the billionaire romance trope. The MMC was a nice guy and there are parts that I laughed out loud while reading. The FMC was a sweet person and got her deserved HEA and the supporting characters were well-written and interesting. I’m looking forward to more in this series.
If you’re into books that have sex clubs, alpha males, and heroines that need rescuing then this is the book for you. I really liked the dynamic between all the Salazar brothers (and Carmen). I’m anxious to see the continuation of this story and how it plays out over the years. Plus, I’m anxious to see how each of the sugar babies find their happily ever after!! Great work! I look forward to reading more by this author!!!!
Well the book started off really annoying I don't like books that make women look stupid and uneducated. Nearly stopped reading it when Nadine asked what an NDA was. However after pushing through Nadine was helped to polish herself up and I started to enjoy it. I liked the ending and several bonus chapters which was a nice change. Low rating due to the beginning of the book.
The handsome mayor Reynolds and the so beautiful Nadine. Small town girl and big city mayor cross paths and fall in love. Good spicy book and many stories going at once but a little unbelievable with the fake fiancée and all. Kinda got sickening and predictable. What happened to Jelly and where did she go. Many unanswered questions and not sure I’ll read the next.
I made it halfway through chapter 3 and decided life’s too short. I don’t know this author, but her opinions of how southern people are is laughable. The heroine is an idiot and I didn’t read enough about the hero to form an opinion. I just knew I couldn’t go on reading and that says something because it takes a lot for me to DNF a book.
I loved the way Rayna wrote this book. Both in-depth and detailed but the heroine was passionate and relates able. Loved this series!
I 🤞 wish hope she writes a book about some of the characters from this series. Madeline/Will defently!!! I hope the brothers Salazars and Carmen get there own series.
Super cute story but way too long. And this author needs someone to edit her writing. Ugh, it was hard to read at times. The MMC was a big playboy.and FMC was young and needed help and new beginning. Fun story. Happy Reading ❤
I loved Nadine story and Reynolds trying to keep his political career afloat. The Salazar family is amazing!! Are we going to get the story for each Salazar family member? @Rayna
I hope you're writing Madeline story and that you're close to being finished and it turns out to be one of the best stories I've read during this summer I look forward to The rest of the stories
Would have been a 5 BUT it had too much telling or description for me. I would rather have the dialogue of the characters. Will read the rest of the series but will skip a lot.
