Cease An Under Violet Suns NovelWhen an ambitious Maman sets her sights on a warrior, no price is too high to claim what she wants—even if it means destroying him.
Petre-De, a brilliant engineer and Verit warrior, has spent his life serving his clan with honor. But when the Maman Bylelle decides he will be her mate, she'll stop at nothing to possess him.
Rowen came to Dalat seeking adventure and the chance to build something remarkable. The fiery Rowen never expected to find herself drawn to the stoic, silver-haired warrior who keeps pushing her away despite the obvious attraction between them.
As Petre struggles against Bylelle's increasingly dangerous manipulations, he finds himself falling for the one female he cannot have. Claiming Rowen would place her directly in Bylelle's crosshairs. But when their passion can no longer be denied, Petre must find a way to protect everyone he loves from a Maman's obsession—or risk losing everything to the fires of vengeance.
Cease Fire is a tale of forbidden love, dangerous obsession, and the courage to defy a corrupt system. When the lives of those you love hang in the balance, how far will you go to protect them?
If you like Ruby Dixon, Honey Phillips or Ava Ross, you won't be able to put down this steamy and emotionally intense addition to the Under Violet Suns series.
What to Powerful world-building, heart-wrenching emotion, and a slow-burn romance that ignites into passionate fire. Cease Fire is a complete HEA story with no cliffhanger, set in the ongoing Under Violet Suns universe.
I’ve waited for this book to come out for so long! And I’m so glad it did not disappoint. As with this whole series I enjoyed the world building and progress with the Dalat Colony. I really like Petre even though he could be frustrating at times he cared deeply for his family and the colony. I respected his deep sense of responsibility. The Verit culture is so interesting and the Maman make me so mad!! Rowen was a delight I loved how strong and sure of herself she was. A very good partner for Petre. I’m so happy this series is continuing and I hope there will be more books to come.
This is the fifth book of the Under Violet Suns series, and Cease Fire continues it’s fascinating Sci-Fi romance storyline with a new couple Petre-De, and Rowen. The author has crafted worlds and societies that are imaginative, intriguing and filled with matriarchal political machinations that at this moment in time has touched Petre-De, a Verit warrior and engineer pulled into their unwelcome sphere of influence. Rowen who has arrived on Dalat seeking new adventures meets her new boss Petre-De who doesn’t appear as though he is pleased at her being there as her empath senses have noted, but his unwelcoming demeanor doesn’t stop her appreciation of his handsomeness and she finds herself intrigued by him. I savored this story that was expertly written, populated by well crafted characters, and a plot that was filled by intrigue, suspense, treachery, danger, vulnerability, action, emotion, and passion. As Humans have spread out across the galaxy and colonized new worlds they have had to adapt their genetics to survive on them. Two of these worlds Falosia with a majority of female empaths and Verit a matriarchal society ruled by Mamans have joined in the start of a new colony on Dalat to address declining birth rates by setting up a haven where mates can be found. Into this confluence of ideals and corruption an influential Maman becomes obsessed with Petre-De which will ultimately endanger what is slowly developing between he and Rowen, leading into a very immersive and engaging read!.

This is an action-packed, well-paced story that will hold the reader’s interest from beginning to end. The tension that grows between Petre-De and Rowen is presented with the right amount of action and suspense building up, giving us strong likable characters to care about. But the Maman Bylelle is determined to claim Petre-De for herself, intending to stop at nothing to make him hers, even if it takes threats against family members. Rowen’s attraction to Petre-De clashes with Maman Bylelle’s plans, especially as Rowen and Petre-De fall for each other. No matter what, he doesn’t want to put Rowen in danger. Does he have any other options though? Is there a way for this to work out for them or will he risk everyone he loves if he makes the choice he is being most drawn to?
3.7⭐ This was a surprisingly good book, especially for being book 5 in a series. I have not read any of the others but will seek them out after this (can be read as a stand alone). The characters were well developed and it had a substantial plot outside of the romance.

This story is so very intense. It builds and builds until I have to leave the room and calm down. To put so much into your writing is awesome. It hits so many buttons that you don't know what to do. This is an awesome story. I would like to find the rest of them now. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Every society has a strain of corruption despite the strength of the ideals. Power, greed, desire, fear force the players to dance to the tune of a wicked leader. Recommend reading the series in order for cultural background but it's not necessary.
offers a thrilling blend of forbidden love and dangerous obsession in a vividly built universe. Fans of slow-burn alien romance with intense passion and a satisfying HEA will find this an engaging addition to the genre.
