Project: Perception

Mankind is stagnant. Still fighting the same fights since the end of the 20th century. While technology advances at a blistering pace, socially, humanity is becoming stunted. But a small band of people plan to change that, even if they aren’t sure as to whom is pulling the strings, and to what end, really? Lives are sacrificed to the project, with a cold eye towards the ultimate expression of control.
Meet:

Char, the brilliant but nearly emotionless programmer, trapped in the body of a model.
The Administrator, the unseen leader of the project of seemingly limitless resources.
Jameston, a sphere jockey just trying to stay sane.
Harry, a systems admin, sucked into the project, and now not quite as sure that he wants to be there.
Kip and Mike, private cyber security, out looking for bounties.
