M.D. Grayson is the author of the Danny Logan mystery series. He grew up in Las Vegas but now he lives on an island near Seattle with his wife Michelle and their three German shepherds.

Before becoming a full-time writer, Mr. Grayson worked in the construction industry, as an accountant for six l-o-n-g weeks (square peg—round hole), and as a piano player on the Las Vegas strip. When he's not writing, he loves zooming about on two wheels— bicycles and motorcycles alike. In addition, he's a pilot, a boater, and an accomplished musician who's always ready for a jam session!

A not-so-simple bar fight turns into the latest case for Danny Logan and Logan Private Investigations. Some Russian thugs have begun an intimidation campaign against Mike and Sylvia Lyon, the owners and proprietors of the Sylvia Lyon Gallery and the building in which it (and several other businesses) is housed. And these Russians, they don't play nice, but they do play for keeps.

This is the fifth book in the Danny Logan Mystery series, and the second one (Mona Lisa Eyes) I have read. Having thoroughly enjoyed Mona Lisa Eyes, I was expecting a similar outing this go around. The first half of the book was seeming to wrap up pretty quickly to a fairly obvious ending. I was full of trepidation at continuing, not wanting my disappointment to be realized.

My disappointment never came to fruition. The story ramped up to appropriate levels. Sufficient action takes place. And some bad guys go down.

Oh, yeah, Toni's husband shows up looking to pick things back up. Fun times in the city.

This is another enjoyable read. The characters are very real, so much so that you (okay, I) fear for them and want to meet them. The locations are very real (given the author takes great pains to use a real area, that makes sense). Only the story is made up. But it could be real.

Highly recommended.

Another solid entry in the series.

Grayson sets part of this story in the underground area of Seattle around Pioneer Square created when the town fathers raised the whole town to protect it from flooding. Unlike some authors who bury the reader in details, Grayson provides just enough that the reader can get a picture of the area in his or her mind without getting bogged down in trivial information that has no bearing on the story.

Grayson keeps his characters' relationships growing here as he has in prior books. Although some of the ones who had bigger roles in earlier entries barely appear here. The focus is mainly on Danny, Toni, and Doc.

Grayson also still has some odd scene breaks in places where none is needed (ala John Sandford?) that break up the flow of the story.

I hope this isn't the last Danny Logan mystery.

Breaking Bad?

This book reminds me that show. After reading all the books in this series, I can see and know all the characters. And have to visit Seattle. Please read all the books you'll love it, especially if you live in that city. Can't wait for the next book. Tears running down my cheeks.

I have read all 5 of these books in the past week and a half. I enjoy murder mysteries and really enjoy the ones that I don't want to put the book down (or shut my e-reader off) These books are well written and always have had that little twitch at the end where it surprises you who done it. Loved all 5 books. I would recommend this series to any and all to read.

another fun read

I really enjoy these Danny Logan stories. They catch me right away and keep my interest all the way to the end. And as a former Seattlelite, it is fun to read about my favorite city. Highly recommend all the books.

Blue Molly opens like gangbusters with a roaring bar fight and a brief jail stay for Seattle private investigator Danny Logan and his partner.

The story moves along at a rapid clip while Logan and his team work to solve the mystery. Then there's an unfortunate and somewhat clumsy exposition dump which leaves a cliffhanger of sorts.

Author M.D. Grayson is presumably a fan of TV’s Breaking Bad since a key plot point involves a "designer" illicit drug called Blue Molly. Blue Molly gains local popularity among its users as an uncut form of ecstasy...until it starts to turn dangerously impure.

I enjoyed Blue Molly’s main premise and characters, and also appreciated Grayson's straightforward writing style. So, I plan to go back to the first book in the series and proceed from there.

Another quick and most satisfying read written by M.D. Grayson

The life of a P.I. firm based in Seattle, Washington, chock full of suspense, history, geography, dining-both fine and quick-good guys, better guys, bad guys and much worse guys....keeps a reader turning pages looking for more, but not wanting it to end. And somehow Grayson has realistic but complex enough characters that there are multiple story lines under one story title, each overlapping without over powering any of the others, but conclusions of all in turn (did you forget any?) make for a totally satisfying ending of the book

Another Great Danny Logan Adventure

Well, this completes my reading of all 5 of the available Danny Logan books in the series. This one has all the things I've loved about the others: action, well developed characters, and detailed setting. It was very enjoyable. The only minor criticism I have of this book is this. It was too obvious who made off with the $500K. But the rest of the story more than makes up for that. I certainly hope we get more books in this series. I recommend this book to all readers who love action.

I don't usually start with the 5th book in a series first. But this was a kindle bargain and sounded good. Needless to say I need to go find the previous books now. I really liked this book. The characters were great and the story kept me guessing. I stayed up way too late a couple of nights because I didn't want to stop reading. I even would like to visit Seattle and Pioneer Square. Anyone looking for a good mystery/detective story with great characters, this is it.

I always learn something new from Grayson's stories. I'd never heard of the areaways in Seattle before.
I did look up the topic and kept a map open on the computer, because it was kind of tricky to follow what
was happening in the underground areas. There were a couple of hints early on that I should have paid more
attention to. On the other hand, it was fun to be surprised by "who done it" at the end.

Having a considerable number of books still to read on my kindle I randomly selected the first Danny Logan mystery, Angel Dance. Well I was hooked from the word go. I fortunately had books 3,4 and this one 5 to follow . What a series . I like the fact that each book can be read as a stand alone . Stories are believable and enthralling . You can't wait to get to the next page. Hopefully the next book won't be too far away. Loved the growing Union of Danny and Toni.

I've really enjoyed this series. There is added humor in just the right places. The characters are well written. Because the author researches the locations in Seattle where each story takes place, it comes across as more believable. Kudos to M.D. Grayson for a delightful series. I'm looking forward to reading the next installment.

Good Golly Blue Molly!!

Picked this up as a freebie and I'm hooked! Can't wait to read the others. Good story that kept me up reading long after I should have hit the sack. It has characters that appeal to both sexes and enough action to make you not want to put it down. Read it - you'll love it.

Awesome

I love good books set in historical locations. The Danny Logan Mystery Series is one set in Seattle Washington. I have visited the Seattle area a few times, and have been to the Space Needle, and Pikes Place. After reading this series, I now feel the urge to revisit Seattle and go see the underground in Pioneer Square. I am looking forward to more from this author.

Timely topic

This book started out a little differently than the ones that came before but that's ok. I really don't like books that seem to follow the same out line/form.
Drugs are a continuing problem in the real world and this problem was approached and handled in a clear and correct manner in this story.

Excellent plot

At the first I had a hard time getting into the book so after starting it I stopped reading it. However, after a few weeks passed I decided to continue on with it and I am so glad that I did. The characters are very 3 dimensional and interesting. I quickly found myself being drawn into the world of Danny and Toni. I am now anxious to start another one.

Excellent read!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Blue Molly. The characters, in particular Danny and Doc were fantastic . Toni was so down to earth and kind of reminded me a little bit of the Girl with the Dragon tattoo . I'm definitely looking forward to starting the series off with number one and continuing through the whole series .

A Long Book

Although Blue Molly was an I interesting novel, it seemed awfully lengthy to me. We started out in the 1800s and it seemed to take a long time to get to present time. I enjoy Danny Logan mysteries and this one was no different. This was number 5 in the series. I have read 1 or maybe 2 before. They are always well written

THIS IS ABOUT THE FOURTH BOOK IN THIS SERIES THAT I’VE READ. I REALLY LIKE THE CHARACTERS, DANNY LOGAN AND HIS VERY ECLETIC CREW ARE ALL LOVABLE SCREWBALLS. ;D

As Ever- Gripping

Great character dvelopment. Good plot with lots of twists and turns. One has to suspend belief on the cooperation with the Seattle police but thats an easy task to have a "can't put down" tale to read.

I gave it a 5 rating because it was one of those books you just can't put down. Great story development just like the previous four. Can't wait to read number six.

Edge of my seat thriller

Excellent mystery and I loved, loved, loved the very end. Never saw it coming. However, I kind of suspected Libby as the real culprit.
