3.5 stars. This was ok for me. It was Ericmore's writing style that put this to 4-stars, not necessarily the content. I know there is an audience for this type of story, but I'm on the fence. It was just all a little too one note for my preferences. I just wanted to plot to go deeper and the characters to have something beyond their immediate ambitions. However, certain plot points were established immediately and did not deviate or advance. Sort of just coasted from start to finish. That made the story drag at times and the ending sort of just felt underwhelming. Plenty of deviant sex and gore, so that was a big plus. But, again, the author's writing quality was just too good for me not to highlight. The story, itself, was just ok and nothing more.

Duel POV.

Him: Depraved, perverted, then falls in love.
Her: Victim of abuse, loner, crazy.
Then they meet. What could possibly happen in a hospital?
You really don’t wanna cross paths with HIM. You won’t see daylight again. He enjoys it messy.
She wants to escape. She just wants to be believed.

Fast paced, kept me pulled in from the first page. It’s definitely peaked my interest.

A male main character obsessed with violence during sex. A female main character being sexualised by her mums partner. What happens when they cross paths?

From the first page this rams the accelerator and doesn’t let up until the end. When our female finally loses it she is sent to a psychiatric hospital where he manages to land a job. He is utterly in love with her.

This made me feel icky and gross for actually liking it. He’s a proper creep and I felt bad for her being used and abused the way she was. I feel like Ash portrayed both these characters personalities extremely well and achieved the feelings we are meant to feel towards the characters he created. Literally the last page is finally where it eases up but not until the last moment. Phenomenal read again!

I make no apologies for reading this horror story.

There is something wrong with him, he has a penchant for v!0lence when he meets a female, and takes her home. Until he sees a woman on TV accused of m^rdering her mother’s b/f, she is take to an adult facility, where he gets a job so he can be near her. Obviously, there’s more to the story but I can’t give too many spoilers 🤭

It’s a quick read, do read the triggers as it is extreme horror as we now expect from Ash 🙀

This one is about two peoples stories that are VERY different. You follow one person who is a terrible human being and the other who is in a terrible situation. If you want brutal and unapologetic this is it. This was a fast read for me because I wanted to see where these two would cross paths and when they did I dreaded every second after it. This was a good read and it will stick with me for quite awhile.

Absolutely depraved.
a story of horror, of a victim to only be blamed and recognized. it's nuts. I think the character development went very well. The antagonist in the book is insane as hell.
I was able to read this book early as being on Ash Ericmore's Patron updates (which I highly suggest) and

What I liked: The way the story was outlined back-and-forth between "him" and "her"

What I didn't like: The content. Not bad at all - very well written. Just a little too dark for my tastes.

What will stick with me: Either the latter portions in the hospital, or the thigh stabbing. Probably the latter. That was something that had never occurred to me.

Very fast-paced and enjoyable. I love the dual POV and setup of the plot. As always filled with plenty black humour, amazing writing and some good gore.

Very dark and disturbing with an intensity that forbids you to stop reading.

HIM - vile and perverted, his reality between sex and violence distorted beyond the realm.
HER - abused and ignored, her visions make her dig deep to purge the pain.

Told through dual narratives, this catapults you from disturbing confrontations with HIM, to a deep sympathy with HER. But as with many of Ericmore’s books there is an underlying narrative - this being one of despair. At one point I even found myself rooting for HIM, to escape his loneliness and vicious circle; for HER I wanted someone, anyone to see her pain.

I can’t recommend this highly enough.
