A wolf in sheep’s clothing? No, I’m something far more insidious.A spider weaving a web for its prey, and when she’s finally caught and realizes what she’s entangled herself with, her tears of disbelief will do nothing but fuel my desire. The cost? Her innocence? Her freedom? Her will? It doesn’t matter.
Frank Metchie
I’m used to whispers and snide remarks. “Cross-dressing freak.” Yeah, I’ll be that. Their opinions mean nothing. They call me gay or bi… they have no idea I can call a different woman every day of the year at different hours, and I still wouldn’t get through my roster. That’s what eleven inches, a Prince Albert, and a bank account that could buy their pathetic lives get you, so let them talk.
But when I met Jessica Hurts,... tall, sweet, disgustingly adorable, and the only girl on our college football team, I knew she was special… and from our first meeting, I wanted her by any means necessary. Usually, I’d take what I want, but with her, I have to move differently. Even if I have to play the sweet, unassuming, and innocent best friend to her because she has to put up with mockery herself and foolishly thought we were the same… Say no more.

Being a black woman and writing an interracial book where the black female MC constantly refers to the white man she's fucking as nigga when he's very much not one is a choice and not a good one. Add on that this book read like a terrible Wattpad story(no shock seeing as the author started off on Wattpad) with terribly written characters and I just can't. I've decided Rose Marie just isn't an IR author I can get into. She gives me Jamila Jasper vibes which isn't good. Some of these new interracial authors are really bringing the genre down imo.
I tried so hard to finish this book but I could not do it. The writing style is a choice. The plot line seemed like it was a good book but the author perpetuated the “black” girl stereotype. I understand it was supposed to be modern but the way the dialogue was set up, NOBODY TALKS LIKE THAT. And then the pacing was ATROCIOUS. You telling me this girl had an away game, practice, had time to spend the weekend at his house, go shopping and have days worth of mindblowing sex in a WEEKS time? Like what! It was giving wattpad and not in a good way. I wanted to like this book because the storyline is honestly a great start but I couldn’t ignore how sloppily written this book was.
It's hard for me to review this book. If I was basing it *ONLY* on the time I had, it'd be 4.5 stars. Was the grammar perfect? Pacing? Plot? Execution perfect? No and you're probably like....okay so HOW, how would it be 4.5 stars? Well because this is MY opinion and every book does not have to be implemented in a flawless and traditional way.
I was CONSUMED by the fact that I've never read anything like it, the story was original, it was unique and honestly kind of took me out of my comfort zone, it also has me thinking about it days later which goes a long way in my opinion. And I have this thing where I LOVE text messages in books, there were even visuals! So fun! I finished in a day.
A pretty white guy (well seemingly a "guy" because there's that paranormal aspect) that likes to cross dress that falls in lust with a Black girl that starts on her football team..well maybe not just lust but love? Not sure that's the correct word it's more like maybe a fated mate situation because he is unhinged, non sensical and feral about Jessica. I'm here for it because I enjoy an unhinged MMC, but there's also some really tender moments and complexity with Frank when he lets Jessica see his vulnerability. He is down BAD and utterly locked in.
I'm not too upset that the paranormal part didn't kick in until the end because as there's a cliffhanger we'll obviously be getting another book and I'm sure those aspect will be explained further.
The spice was....unexplainable? Jaw dropping? NASTY. HOT...different. Interesting....eye opening.
Now here's why I don't feel comfortable giving it the 4.5 stars. I'm sorry but there's no reason for a Black FMC to be calling a White MMC a ni**a cause why!? He's in fact NOT a ni**a soooo?? Everytime it was said I visibly cringed, like I flinched.
So originality and how engrossed in the story I got 4.5 stars..the N word 😬 0...so 2.5 stars? I dunno.
I will be continuing with the series though, I'm pretty obsessed with them.
I enjoyed this one. I didn't think it was paranormal till it was slightly to the end. Love Frank and Jessica together. This was funny and definitely steamy. I like this author. Can't wait for the next book.
honestly I was disappointed by the lack of paranormal edge. didn’t come til the end of the book(by then it felt unnecessary) . frank is hilarious and I like that he’s a cross dresser! I also like Jessica the FMC. I’m just disappointed in the overall lack of paranormal. If it had more then it would be a 3.5. very fun and light read
Edit: do not go into this book expecting clean and “normal” author writing okay? Rose writes very organically not the traditional way.
Noooo not the cliffhanger!! If this book was 600+ pages I would read every line and when it’s done, reread it again, that’s how gripping this book was!!! The book definitely lived up to being a very darkkk supernatural college romance and I loved every minute of it.
Frank was such a sweetheart to Jessica and I love that. Jessica was non the wiser to Franks manipulations and approach seeing as he cross dressed to make her feel more comfortable, but behind closed doors he was a fein, freak and everything in between for her. You definitely feel all the emotions throughout and the humour from seeing them communicate and their inner thoughts, yes yes and again yes. Especially with Franks brothers who I’m dying to know more about.
The only negative thing I have to say is that it ends on a cliffhanger but other than that, I really appreciate Jessica for being one of a kind in being the only girl on the football team and being a no nonsense girl. Rose Marie you did your big one when you wrote this book, so I’m impatiently waiting on book 2!!!!!
This book was one of THE BEST books that I've had the pleasure to read! Frank and Jessica's relationship is unlike any couple that I've ever come across. Their connection goes far deeper than you can imagine. Frank is the epitome of unhinged. Jessica wants to focus on her career and school. But there's just something about Frank that she can't stay away from. This book will keep you engaged and on the edge of your seat. The twists and turns will leave you speechless! And I don't just mean the dialog. I rarely am a fan of long series. But with this one, I'm all in. I can't wait until the next book drops!
OMG ..: absolutely loved the dynamic between Jessica and Frank! Excited to see where the storyline goes in Book 2! Upset that I will need to wait until end of May 2025. It is absolutely time for Jessica to put those campus girl in line about her man. Frank needs to set them straight too 👀👀
Let me tell you something this book had me in such an mf chockhold. Frank is the tier book boyfriend. That man was immediately obsessed with Jessica. He damn near worshipped the ground she walked on. That man has such a filthy mouth and backs up every dawn word and then some. The last couple of chapters were nothing but plots that left my mind reeling. Rose laced this book with cr@çk the way I'm tweaking for the next book as well as the future stories about Frank's brothers.
Frank!!! I’ve been waiting patiently for Frank and Jessica’s story and book 1 did not disappoint! First of all..if this is your first Rose Marie, you will need to check your bias at the door and be open because you’re gonna like some stuff that you never thought you would! I’m not going to spoil it but all I can say is the spice is level 10 and the plot line is perfect! Highly recommend!
Imagine walking around not knowing that your sweet innocent pretty boy boyfriend slang his pipe into the entire student body. Every girl including the professors are gunning for you. Frank is the epidomy of lust and he will do anything, and I mean anything to show Jessica how much he embodies who he is. But not before he pretends to be a sweet and innocent friend to Jessica. Little does she know that she is caught in his web of lust and deceit.
DNF Stopped at 65%. Frank & Jessica Just ...what???? I know better than to read books recommended in TikTok. Booktok recs have been my do not read list for years. But here I go trying to give a new author a chance. Just bad. Too many pop culture references, a Shannon Sharpe gif in a book....really????, grammar and proofreading errors. The timing of the story makes no sense and is unbelievable. The title says supernatural, I'm DNFing at 65% and gave yet to encounter anything supernatural. I honestly only made it this far by hate reading.
I finally gave up at what I would call S.A. She was under the influence of weed and half asleep when he was trying to get consent. She was in no way, shape, or form coherent enough to give definitive consent. I'm done.

TikTok introduced me to author Rose Marie a week or so ago. I watched every single video regarding this story and was intrigued. A Black female college football player named Jessica Hurts meets a guy who cross dresses named Frank Metchie . They are kindred spirits and fast friends but that friendship blossoms into something more. I really liked the supernatural element to the story. The author slowly weaves that into the story in a way that had me questioning what is going on it’s Mr. Metchie. Once the truth was revealed I said to myself well that was unexpected but it makes sense as to why his nose was bleeding.
I’m an avid reader of Dark Romance, horror , thriller and supernatural stories. The cool thing about the past few years is that more Black writers are debuting with novels that combine some of these genres. I started reading some interracial novels again late last year but discovering Rose Marie and Craved by Lust is by far the best thing that has happened to me thanks to BookTok. The cross dressing man is what peaked my interest the most because I have never read any dark romance with a character like that so I’m expanding my horizons in 2025.
The spice meter for this novel is off the charts. The descriptions are vivid and the prose is good. There are a few typos but they did not distract me at all. I’m rating it 4 out of 5 stars. Whenever book 2 is released I will be reading it. I need to know what happens to next.
This book was weird. It's different for sure, but the feeling I came away with primarily was weird. It really doesn't deserve a 3 star but I didn't think it was so bad to give it a 2. The grammatical errors, word errors, word choice issues, consistency issues, missing scenes, and lack of explanation when it's much needed also detract from the story. Everything in this book takes place over the course of a week and some change, round up to two weeks for argument's sake. There is way too much that happens to fit comfortably in these pages.
Frank is a cross-dressing straight man who works as a male prostitute. He's high end and in demand but he realizes shortly after meeting Jessica that she's the one for him. Jessica is a 5'10" tall college football player and the only girl on the team. She's on scholarship and makes NIL money, but for me, the football angle was unrealistic given how it's woven into the story. The two meet when Jessica wears a skimpy lingerie set under a trench for her boyfriend, the first time she and boyfriend are going to have sex. Sucks for Jessica that showing up early to her boyfriend's place nets her a front row seat to her boyfriend twirling and kissing another woman. Stunned, Jessica drives to her favorite park, gets out without the keys while leaving the car running, and walks aimlessly through the park before running into the gorgeous girl/guy that is Frank. While Jessica walked, her trench was coming open which she didn't care about due to her mental state after catching her boyfriend, so when she bumps Frank, she falls to the ground. Jessica's coat falls open when she sprawls onto the ground and Frank sees her lady bits through her sexy lingerie, including the nipple and clitoris piercings that Jessica has. Frank is captivated. For her part, Jessica takes Frank's features along with him wearing a dress as visual clues to confirm that he's a girl.
All of a sudden, some men are trying to fight both Frank and Jessica, Frank ends up picking Jessica up, running with her in heels to her car, putting her in, jumping in the driver's side and roaring away from the attackers. No explanation for Frank's transportation but now the whole unbelievable event of Jessica leaving her keys in the car with it running fits into the story. Frank also knows where Jessica lives for some reason and it's not until he's dropping her off that Jessica realizes that Frank is actually a man. Prior to seeing her in her lingerie, Frank had thought Jessica was an ice queen and had heard of her but previously wasn't interested. Jessica likes anime and is attracted to men with more delicate features, nothing like the boys she plays football with and Frank is up her alley and then some. Frank proposes that they be friends because he understands that Jessica is more comfortable with him as a friend. Frank uses his role as a friend to ease into a real relationship with Jessica and in a few days, he has her moved in with him into what he now considers their place. All the while, Frank is barely able to contain his lust for Jessica.
Sexually, once Frank and Jessica get there, they're compatible. But Frank is super big. As round as a pop bottle in girth and long which makes the sex hurt but also feel good, but also means Jessica gets worn out quickly with his sexual demands. No fun for me as a reader, but fear not. The weird comes in during their sexcapades, the most being that Frank is transforming into the Lord of Lust, unbeknownst to him until the end of the book, but he grows horns like an anime character. Said horns are ultra sensitive sexually and he's able to morph them into one single horn, all while convincing Jessica that it's cosplay. Anyway, Jessica ends up penetrating herself with Frank's horn at his urging, and it's a mind blowing experience for them both. Frank passed out shortly after and sleeps for days. Jessica has to leave for a football game and when she tries to get back into their place, the housekeeper won't let her and sends Jessica away. Just to fast forward, Frank was sick and when he wakes up he learns from his parents (soon to be his and his 6 brothers' servants now that they're awakening their Lords of the 7 Deadly Sins personas) that he's the first of his brothers to transition and will need to visit hell. Frank let's the revelation roll off his shoulders for the need to be with Jessica but the book ends with Jessica breaking up with Frank over text message. The guy she hasn't seen in days, who was sick before she left him, who she hasn't been able to communicate with over that same amount of time, who has been catering to her every need since they became friends. No questions about his well being. Assuming that she knows he JUST clicked on her messages THAT day, breaks up with Frank because he hadn't been texting her back. Sighs.
I did like Frank's brothers and it would've been such a great thing if I could read through their stories and perspectives as the other deadly sins find their loves. I liked how Frank was all about Jessica and got rid of his roster for her. Jessica was just a confusing mix of a lot and sometimes I felt for her and sometimes I didn't.
This one is the first in a series but I think I'll stop at this one book. Just the frustration I can feel myself undergoing with multiple books like this is a mental exhaustion I won't subject myself to at this time.
I started this based of a tik tok and quickly found out it was bad. It started off so bad it was good then was just plain bad. It’s an interesting idea, take it all the way back to drawing board and delete every social media reference while you’re there. Who is Jimin?
I DNF'd at 81% after fighting for my life through 60% of it. Find an editor. Find a plot. Nobody should have to suffer this nonsense. The intro snippet was bad and I thought it couldn't get any worse. I was wrong.
I don’t usually give 5 stars but this book here deserves all 5 stars. This book was an excellent read you won’t be disappointed. Read the book you can’t go wrong
OMG I loved this book! not only was it HOT but it was funny as well. Frank little internal dialect with himself about Jessica was cute and funny. once I got passed him dressing like a girl or cross dressing, He was swoon worthy. I like a good erotica that actually has a plot. It turns out that Frank is a demon. the author gives us a warning about supernatural beings in the book so I was wondering when we were going to come across one. I knew Frank wasn't human when him and Jessica f*cked for the first time. They were high off weed, but there's no way Jessica hallucinated Frank's appearance, changing during intercourse. Then it happened again when she was sober and he was "sick". What threw me was him not knowing that he was a demon. So I'm curious to see what's about to happen in the next book because miscommunication has caused some problems with him and Jessica. if you're into reading about supernatural beings and sex then i recommend this book😋 it's well written but I'm kinda pissed at myself because of the cliffhanger. i should've waited until the 2nd book was out 😫
I didn’t think it was much growth in the character in their relationship, and if this was an instalove - I didn’t enjoy it at all. It was it was such a quick get together, but it wasn’t flowing well to me like others quick instalove are written out. It was funny at some parts of it, but overall I would not read this again or had even picked this up if I didn’t like some of the authors previous books. Especially cause it was 400 pages and most was about sex that just wasn’t needed or wasn’t written out great. The plot(?) of the story was lost on me cause it was all over the place for me. The cliffhanger I like but wish it was more in the beginning and middle of the book and not just in the last 30% of the book to get a hint of what the supernatural part is related to.
So this book definitely had an enticing collection of steamy moments that certainly deliver on the smut front. However, the plot left much to be desired. While the spicy scenes were enjoyable, they did not compensate for an underwhelming storyline that feels both lackluster and predictable. I found myself wishing for a more creative narrative to support the 🔥 encounters. At times, I felt a bit cheated, like I wanted to sue the author for some of my time back. It's not that the book isn’t entertaining; it just didn’t quite hit the mark for me in the plot department. El and I agree, If you’re looking for good smut, you might will find some enjoyment here, but we went in expecting a captivating story and were disappointed.
This has got to be the best Sci-fi Romance Slap your mama book I have read in a long time. I thought Beauty and Connor was the shit, but Frank and Jessica Has taken Up the mantle that Beauty and Connor left. I usually Am upset when it has a cliffhanger. Not so much now! I can wait Along as I can get a book That continues And draws out the emotions That I Have with this book. Sorry about the way the writing has been coming out In this review. I am using a microphone and typing I am driving ! Now on a side note Where can I Find a horn vibrator LOL!!
Boy meets girl and they start dating. She happens to be a football player and he is......? And that's about all there is to the story.
This was extremely bland and full of typos/missing punctuation. Every other word out of Jessica's mouth was a curse word...usually f**k...and that's just completely unnecessary. Do curse words belong in books? Sure! But this was way too much and added no value. The spice was on point, and the only thing that saved the book. There's no supernatural. Nothing special at all. I won't be continuing the series.
This book delivers a wild ride! Frank is a whirlwind of sweet, ridiculous, dramatic, and downright crazy, yet utterly captivating. The dynamic between Frank and Jessica is a rollercoaster, prompting me to say 'run, girl!' followed by a firm 'forever.' Despite any chatter about writing style and for who, this book is pure, unadulterated enjoyment. It's a feel-good read that sparks giggles and elicits all the emotions. If you're looking for a dramatic, passionate, and entertaining story, 'Craved by Lust' is a must-read."
Warning: The author put intoxicating tropes and plots into this book
Dear author. Hi. You know this should’ve been one book. And you’re wrong for breaking it into two. That said, respectfully, when’s book two coming out??? I’m frothing at the mouth already.
P.S. to the people I KNOW are gonna ask me about this book: SP - I would never tell you what to do, but look away…unless..? MC - I would suggest you crack this one open. JS - You already know what you need to do and you promised.
Well words can not express how I’m feeling about this book. Miss Mam no Madam Rosie Marie. Hot damn. When I say I want to room and lock myself in the bathroom and hide from my family to finish reading this book. Ummmm I did but I had to finish reading it about 5 this morning. But anywho AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME book. Can’t wait for the rest of your books to come out. The horn play…….. girl that was HOT.
When I say this books was so good. I love both characters, but Frank was like no other. I love the fact Frank didn’t care about what people thought of him. I loved his quick whit which was hilarious. The way he adore Jess and so attentive. His comebacks had me dying laughing. I give this book a 5 star review. The book had a little of everything you love to read. Did not disappoint, nor did I want to put the book down. Cannot wait until the next release.
So this book had great potential. But the editing was completely off like it should have been checked again the books also felt kind of jumpy but I will say the lead characters were everything her warning says they are I would have added delusional for the male lead. More could have been done to make the book read easier I like this author and hope the next books are better.
This was a good read except for me the luat he was having for this women was over the top it seemed unrealistic like to much . But the spicy once it got started it was spicing . But when I found out he was the god of lust it made since how the women were obsessed with him . And how he was so obsessed with s3x with his women and all over her and wanting her so it make since . But over all rose Marie never miss
