Elizabeth Whitmore is a bestselling Amazon author of paranormal suspense and supernatural romance set against the lush, haunted backdrop of New Orleans. Her stories blend magic, mystery, and emotional depth, exploring the thin veil between power and consequence, love and loyalty, and the secrets that refuse to stay buried. Her newest contemporary paranormal suspense series, The GUARDIAN Files, dives deep into a hidden world of witches, shifters, ancient magic, and the shadowy organization sworn to contain them. Set in the heart of Carnival season, the series expands the supernatural universe first introduced in Echoes of the Crescent City, where voodoo, legacy, and the dangerous echoes of the past began to intertwine. The GUARDIAN Files continues that lineage, revealing how bloodlines, betrayals, and buried history shape the present. Elizabeth’s Echoes of the Crescent City and The GUARDIAN Files share a connected world born from the early mythology of Le Gardien and Les Ombres, where Guardians stand watch and the Shadows wait patiently in the dark. Her Time Sharer series, a reader favorite, offers a separate but equally spellbinding journey through time, second chances, and the enduring power of love. Originally from South Louisiana, Elizabeth moved to Texas in the late ’80s with her husband. After his retirement, they returned to New Orleans and made it their forever home, settling into a historic condo in the heart of the city. Surrounded by jazz-filled streets, Mardi Gras magic, and centuries-old legends, she draws daily inspiration from the Crescent City’s beauty and mystery. When she isn’t writing, you’ll likely find her wandering the French Quarter, savoring local cuisine, or relaxing on her balcony with a glass of wine—already dreaming up her next story.
This was a strong start to the Echoes of the Crescent City series, it had that element that I wanted from the description. I was hooked from start to finish and enjoyed getting to know the legacy of the Voodoo Queen. The characters were so well written and enjoyed the overall way they were written in this type of book. Elizabeth Whitmore wrote this so well and was glad it had that feel that I was looking for.

I love stories about Voodoo and New Orleans. The history, the people, the culture, the food and what lies beneath. This book is a great start to what I believe is going to be an awesome series. The folklore surrounding Marie Laveau has always drawn me to any book that has her included. I have read horror and urban fantasy books that discuss the various myths surrounding her and her adventures. I am excited to read this new collection. I hope to learn more about the balance of good and evil.
This is an interesting introduction to the series. Ms. Beauregard is introduced to us when she’s a young child, as the great great granddaughter of one Marie Leveau. Then in 1935 her great great granddaughter shows at her door to give her what she needs to become the protector of New Orleans, the bayou, and the loa. This is all told to an attorney by Ms. Beauregard to make sure her affairs are in order as explained by her great great granddaughter. Looks to be an interesting series!
Found this series while looking for some books that captures New Orleans and brings it alive as I read, while actually taking a chance because I’ve never heard of this BUT starting with this short story of how it started was it!!! Can’t wait to get to the rest of it!!!
