Ten years ago, a string of disappearances shook the small town of Harbor Point. The crimes were never solved. Now, a chilling midnight caller is haunting the town’s residents, whispering secrets from the past and leaving a trail of fear in his wake.
Detective Celeste Harrington has built her career on faith, justice, and an unshakable resolve. When eerie phone calls link to unsolved crimes from a decade ago, she refuses to let fear cloud her judgment. But as the midnight calls grow more sinister, she knows she’s running out of time.
Elias “Eli” Calder was once a respected FBI agent, but a scandal cost him everything. Now a private investigator searching for a missing woman, Eli is determined to prove he’s still the man he used to be. His case collides with Celeste’s, and despite their rocky start, they realize they’re hunting the same predator—a shadow from the past who’s resurfaced to terrorize the town.
As they race to unravel the mystery, Celeste and Eli must confront their own doubts, past failures, and an enemy who knows their every move. When the darkness closes in, will their faith be enough to guide them to the truth? Or will the Midnight Caller claim another victim before they can stop him?
The Midnight Caller is a heart-pounding Christian suspense novel filled with mystery, redemption, and the power of prayer that you won’t be able to put down!
Award-winning author Kayla Lowe writes women's fiction that explores complex themes with sensitivity and depth. Detective Celeste Harrington and FBI agent turned Private Investigator, Eli Calder meet under a very stressful situation. Each has become involved in searching for missing girls and in a similar situation that had occurred ten years prior. The mysteries surrounding the situations continue to get more and more involved and confusing. Will they find the missing girls? One of the best mysteries I have read in a number of years. Positive for me was that it is also a Christian read. Can’t go wrong with this one. Enjoy!!.

I enjoyed this book. Liked the female lead. The suspense kept me turning the pages. However, there were some inconsistencies that kept me from rating it higher than three stars.
Near the first of the book, Pastor Whitfield was said to have been serving his church for fifteen years. Later, he says he came to Harbor Point ten years ago.
Then, there were the two kidnapped girls, Emily and Rachel. Emily disappeared first, but at the end, the author said Rachel's recovery would take more time because she was held captive longer. These are blatant mistakes that an editor should have caught.
Too bad because otherwise the book was good enough to rate at least four stars.

Celeste is a detective who is in charge of the Midnight Calls case. Eli was a former FBI agent. Now, he is a PI and has been hired by one of the families whose daughters have disappeared. Since they decided to work together, all the puzzle pieces started to fall into their right places. This was another great mystery story by Kayla Lowe, and it didn’t disappoint me at all. It was very difficult to put it down. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Ten years ago two young women vanished in Harbor Point, and now someone triggers memories of what happened. A wonderful page turner of a suspense novel with strong characters that are working together while finding their own way and faith. A storyline that keeps you glued to the page until the very end. Very well written.

What a great read that Kayla has written right here. If you enjoy clean Christian mystery romance books, then here is your next book. The storyline has you believing in the power of prayer and I found that this book drew me in from the very beginning. It's a read that I could hardly put it down once I began reading it.
I love this book! The writing is excellent, the characters are likable, and the mystery is engaging. It kept me reading from the very first word, and I couldn't put it down. Celeste and Eli worked well together; they just fit. I'm looking forward to reading another book with these characters.

A well written and suspenseful page turner with strong characters. It finishes with a surprising and unexpected conclusion. If you enjoy clean Christian mystery with a little bit of romance, then this is the book for you.
This was a spine tingling mystery. Celeste is a detective working on a current case similar to one from 10 years earlier. She joins forces with Eli a former FBI turned PI. They work together to figure out all the confusing things happening. A very intriguing story! Received a free copy.
I want to start by saying I received an ARC of this book. This is a Christian suspense book. The main characters are Elias “Eli” and Celeste. Eli is a former FBI agent who is now a private investigator. Celeste is a detective in Harbor Point. Things have started happening in Harbor Point and Celeste is investigating it. Eli gets called into a missing persons case by the family which happens to be in Harbor Point. Are the things happening in Harbor Point connected to the missing person? Will Celeste agree to work with Eli to find the missing girls and solve old cold cases in the process? I was shocked when I found out who was behind everything. Sometimes evil is right in front of you when you don’t realize it. I will say there really is no romance in this which is why I didn’t label it Christian romantic suspense. The epilogue hints at a future romance with them though. I would have loved to see them start a relationship. Overall, I really enjoyed this book.
