Once again I seem to have been mislead.
This time however it wasn't the cover that got me interested, even though it's a pretty nice cover.
The sample. God. Damn you samples.
I never, and I mean NEVER buy a book without getting a sample first to see whether or not it's worth me buying it. Doesn't matter how little the price. I thought I'd scored with this book. Sadly I was yet again mistaken. Mind you, the first few chapters were pretty good, after that not so much.
It got really old, really fast. To me the humour was dull, even some of the conversations were just cringe worthy. There were typing errors, which doesn't bother me a whole lot. However it just added to things I didn't like about this book.
Who knows, maybe it picked up after reading 66%, but I doubt it. I have had to take a break from my highly addictive Kindle reading disorder over the past few days, so maybe my head just wasn't in it.
If I ever get bored and want to re-visit it I may, until then I'm sticking with my current opinion.

I got taken yet again by a sexy cover and a clever title. I was a kind of anticipating the release of this book.
But around 10%....
Still, I figured I’d give it a good ol’ college try and by 30%
The first thing that got me was the dialogue. It was stilted at best and awkward/unbelievable/who-talks like-that at its worst.
He looked even more handsome and muscular than I had imagined.
And how exactly do you mix up saying sexy and thirsty? Who the fuck ever says they are feeling sexy out loud without coming out sounding like an ass?
The conversations between the characters were so freaking dull. A lot of their interactions should have gone on the cutting room floor.
Now I’m just being a nitpicking bitch here but they kept calling each other’s names during any given dialogue. As if the reader’s going to have trouble following their witty repartee. “What do you think, Lucky?” “I don’t know,Zane” “That doesn’t go there, Lucky.” “I know that, Zane.” (I’m just making that part up but not about the irritating name additions.)And it goes on and on and on…
Between the awkward dialogue, Lucky’s senseless internal monologue, and pedantic story line pacing, I am having a hard time finding anything to recommend this book except for a quick trip to the incinerator.
Writing: Needs some serious editing shears and better character development.
Characters: Lucky (the main female character) comes of ditzy and not in a cute way. Zane is just plain boring as hell.
Recommend: Holy Jeebus! Have you not been paying attention to my rant?

“I don’t see why you can’t have been feeling both ways.” He laughed

“I see.” He nodded, looking as though he had no clue as to what I was talking about. “You should see it when it’s curly. It’s crazy.”
“Well I can’t tell.”
“I’m like the frizz monster.” I giggled nervously. Play it cool, Lucky. I took a deep breath and tried again. “You’re lucky. Your hair is always so straight and silky naturally.” I wanted to slap myself as soon as the words were out of my mouth. “I mean,….

I heard this book was getting a lot of high ratings so I decided to give it a try.
It did not meet my expectations. The writing was choppy which I would have been able to get over if the story line had been better.
The story is rushed and multiple areas of the book the author could have expanded on which would have helped with character development. The author left key character development parts out making it hard as a reader to buy into the character's decisions.
The main male character is strictly 100% against commitment and having any relationship that is more than casual sex. Then in 24 hours because the heroine doesn't sleep in the same room as him that night then goes out to lunch the next day while he is out running errands and refuses to answer her phone he decides he can't live with out her is okay if she is possibly pregnant and is willing to eventually get married.
I understand characters grow and change but there was no buildup or climax to this point. The heroine fell asleep by herself and went to lunch and bam he's totally thrown his whole belief system out the window.
There were holes in the plot that were very similarly handled. I couldn't get on board with the book as a whole and ended up skimming through half of it.

May 7, 2014OMG. This is horrible. Everything about it so far is cheesy, and predictable. I can't even finish the first chapter.
Lucky is annoying. She keeps contradicting herself, and getting worked up over nothing. Ugh. I can't stand her. Her coworker makes a judgmental assumption about Zane and she tells them not to judge a book by its cover (those are her exact words. Cheesy dialogue much?!) and then the next paragraph goes on to say 'I can tell from his looks that he's bad bf material'. Omg seriously? Not to mention that he comes in with a different girl every week, (um, that's a better indicator that he's not bf material!) and has never shown interest, but now you're in the bathroom upset and bothered because he was talking about where he's taking the flavor of the week next?? You've never spoken to him outside of 'can I take your order' and your getting all pissy like you were last weeks girl, or a girlfriend or something. Not only is that a poorly developed story line, pulling annoying drama out of thin air, but as a character isn't it a little presumptuous to think that way.. It's like if I was mad at Johnny depp for cheating on me, when we have no actual relationship, let alone connection! L.A.M.E.

First, I absolutely LOVE the title The Last Boyfriend; I think it’s cute and clever. After finishing reading the book I love it even more! :)
The Last Boyfriend is about 22 year-old Lucky. A college senior/waitress who doesn’t even have enough money to pay to get her 1991 Toyota fixed. Lucky works in a small diner, barley getting by. She has no real life, doesn’t date anymore after getting her heart broken. Lucky refuses to date just anybody; she wants her next boyfriend to be her last boyfriend. The only excitement in Lucky’s life is every Friday for the past three months Lucky has served Zane; a playboy who comes into the diner every week with a new beautiful girl as his date. Zane is everything Lucky DOESN’T WANT but he is so damn good looking! Lucky and Zane’s life merge and the two begin an adventure together in Los Angeles making a documentary. Zane is very clear with Lucky, he doesn’t do “relationships” and Lucky only wants a relationship…. But the connection between the two is just too strong for them to deny.
The Last Boyfriend is a very steamy read! Zane is majorly secretive but also majorly HOT! I instantly was drawn to him. I loved that his character was dark and mysterious, how he was written was one of my favorite things about the novel. As you read you know he is hiding things but you do not know what, when some of his secrets are revealed I was not expecting them at all. It made me love Zane even more because he hides a lot behind his Playboy persona.
Lucky, well Lucky made me nervous! Her crazy decision making process made me crazy! She only knows Zane as one of her customers but is willing to quit her job, her schooling to go to Los Angeles with him to make a documentary. It was so impulsive… and I knew heartbreak was coming for Lucky eventually.
The Last Boyfriend had a lot of 4 star moments in the book. As I mentioned earlier I love how mysterious the characters are, mostly Zane & Brayden (a movie star, Playboy type). The sex was HOT and the storyline was fun. The only thing I had trouble with was the constant back and forth feelings between Zane & Lucky. It made me a bit crazy at times, I just wanted them together already!
The Last Boyfriend is a great and fun read! You will love Zane and how sweet he really is, he hides a lot under his bad boy façade. The book does end with a bit of a cliff hanger leaving you wanting more! Can’t wait to read The Last Husband... love that title too!

Ok... this was lame. Reading it, I felt like someone wrote this in a hurry. Maybe on a carton box or on the square notepad (with 'to-do list' in front) while waiting for coffee or waiting in line in local supermarket . I do love random conversations and ramblings, but this is actually ridiculous.
There is NO ROMANCE, at all. None. I don't understand why people call it romantic. There's just sex and arguments. In that order. No wait, there is something else. There is... What is it? Oh, wait. Arguing, Sex AND ARGUMENT. Did I miss something? Ah, yes, MORE ARGUING. And that is not hot make up sex. It's more 'I'm too stubborn, so I'll walk out of the room like true drama queen I am.' In one sentence they're arguing and he's telling her he's not for relationship, and in next that he's in love, and would've like child with her.
And what's up with that 'we laughed', 'he/me/they laughed?' Do they know anything else than laughing? Absolutely pathetic book. Also, Lucky is quite annoying.

I was drawn in by the cover and, after I read a few of the 5-star reviews, decided to go for it. That was a mistake. I should have dug deeper into the reviews and put the cover out of my head. This one was shallow and missing on all cylinders in my opinion.
There wasn’t much to grab hold of story-wise and the writing lacked quality and a smooth flow. I didn’t like either of the main characters, who lacked depth and personality. Nothing made me want to know them better or cheer them to happily-ever-after. The whole storyline was slow and awkward and downright childish and unrealistic.
As far as romance, keep looking because you won’t find it here. Yeah, there’s plenty of sex and angst, but it's not even well written or the least bit captivating.

I hate to give books one star. In general, if a book is decently formatted and breaks fewer than three rules of grammar/spelling per page, I'll give it two stars for effort.
But this book?
This book deserves negative stars.
Oh, it's formatted decently enough and while the grammar is rough, it's about your average American public school fifth grade level (I'm not trying to knock public schools. I went to one, my relatives teach at others. But let's face it. Public education is currently under so many ridiculous constraints, both budgetary and bureaucratic, that teachers have a hard time actually teaching and students have a difficult time actually learning.)
But I doubt I will ever find a more wretched hive of clunky writing and just plain stupidity.
Our heroine is named Lucky. If you forget the heroine is named Lucky, don't worry, the hero will remind you. Ad nauseam. Like every other sentence. "So, Lucky..." "As you know, Lucky..." "What are you thinking, Lucky?" (The answer: not much.) It's as if he has first name Tourette's. Lucky is a college student/plucky waitress in a Miami coffee shop. Lucky is so gosh darn appealing that not one, but two rich and famous men want her.
Lucky (see? I can't stop saying her name, either) is having none of that, however. Because Lucky's ex-boyfriend called her a slut after learning she had sex in college. Shocking, yes, I know. So Lucky has stopped dating until she finds "the last boyfriend" - the last guy she dates before she marries him.
It's a kinda cute premise. Too bad that is the last gasp of anything resembling cute, clever, original or witty in the entire book.
Every Friday, generic handsome rich guy Zane Beaumont shows up at Lucky's diner with a different gorgeous woman in tow. How did Zane make his money? Apparently the New Adult Self Publishing Money Grab Fairy just waved her wand and made him that way. OK, fine, his father is apparently a Hollywood producer who cares nothing about living trusts and all the other financial protections actual wealthy people put into place for their kids, and gave Zane open access to the family's mythically large bank account. Or so I assume. Because it sure as hell ain't in the text.
But even though Zane's and Lucky's interactions are limited to the electrical spark that passes between them whenever Zane leaves his $100 tip on Lucky's table (only somewhat less icky that leaving $100 on her bedside table, the way she talks about it), when Zane sees Lucky chatting to a generic handsome rich Hollywood star at a party, Zane instantly goes into stalker mode and follows her home – and of course her car breaks down along the way. (BTW, there are an awful lot of Hollywood people hanging out in Miami. Not that it doesn’t happen, of course, but, y’know, we have great nightlife, decent beaches and zero humidity on our side of the country.)
Lucky spends the night at Zane’s – no intercourse, but generic sexual tension a'plenty– and presto, chango! Lucky is suddenly Zane’s assistant on a documentary (!!!) he is making in Los Angeles (!!!!) Yet somehow Zane was able to spend the last several months taking girls to Miami diners on Friday nights.
Lucky and Zane go to a fictional Los Angeles that resembles the real city in no real way, shape or form (psst: Burbank is a decent place, don’t get me wrong, but millionaires do not brag about owning condos there; locals say “Olvera Street” when referring to the birthplace of the city; and the hot dog stand is PINK’s, not Pinky’s.) Lucky agrees to enter into a relationship that is all sex, no emotions, because the New Adult Self Publishing Money Grab Fairy says so; and hijinks ensue. I can’t tell you what they are because the clunky, pedestrian writing so annoyed me that I skimmed to the end.
Oh! And 75% of the way through the book we suddenly get a lecture on the Great Migration and the Civil Rights Movement – hey, apparently the author had to use her term paper research somewhere, because that’s what it read like. At least it made a change from the rest of the book, which reads like a first draft fanfiction written by someone who had never put finger to keyboard before but who wanted to rewrite Fifty Shades without all that icky BDSM stuff (no, seriously, the characters discuss Fifty Shades and decide they’re just not into that scene.)
So if you like your heroines stupid; your heroes even more obtuse; your writing on-the-nose, awkward, and heavy-handed; your conflicts cheaply manufactured and easily overcome; your plots paper thin; your first person narration telling you ad nauseam and never once showing you – this is the book for you.
(PS to the reviewers who said they were “beta readers” in return for a review: I do not think the term “beta reader” means what you and the author think it means.)

Gosh, this book fell so flat I actually fell sorry for it! The first thing drawing me was the cover, and yes I tend to do this quiet often and what a disappointment that turns out to be!!!
SO at first I was like Ok, I feel sorry for Lucky, she was acting like a slut during her college days so then when she was treated like one and dumped like one she fell hard and now is giving celebacy a try until MR. RIGHT comes along.. She works at a diner for pennies while going to school - each friday night in comes hot Zane with a different female on his arm, and our heroine gets more and more flustered!? Why? Because she is stupid as shit! History major? Yes, she might be able to remember dates and names, but other than that? STUPID as shit!
The man (Zane) sleeps with these women, tells her that he does, tells her he doesn't do hearts, where she only does hearts, but she drops those panties quicker than you can say Fire!
So not only is she stupid, she is back to her slut ways!
So to sum it up, Lucky our heroine is not so lucky in the brain department and Zane, the idiot she falls for is psychotic but with multiple personalities.
This should have been a book about a psych ward with patients, not an attempted love approach!

I really wanted to like this book - it got good reviews and you know, there's the cover... :))
But man, I got whiplash. Lucky would form an opinion about a guy just to out of nowhere, change it a paragraph later. And I sit here like, 'wait, I thought you decided he was boring and coming on too strong and you can't stop thinking about Zane...so why are you now thinking that given the chance Braydon could make you happy and could be The Last Boyfriend??!' What did I just miss?
I also hate characters who refuse to make a decision or forget about their responsibilities because of a guy - that alone did not endear me to Lucky. She knew that Braydon was really into her and would be flying across the country to see her - yet she stars something up with Zane and then never lets go of Braydon; she keeps avoiding being honest with him. Then too, she forgets to tell her best friends and roommates that she decided to drop out of school and go across the country until hours before she has to leave. AWESOME, Lucky, REALLY AWESOME.
Another thing was that the relationship didn't really develop for me. It could be read as:
Lucky & Zane have a waitress/customer relationship
Lucky attracted to Zane.
Zane possessive about Lucky.
Lucky pushes Zane away
but Zane wants to 'protect her'
Lucky knows Zane isn't relationship material,
Lucky reminds herself A LOT that Zane is bad for her.
Lucky attempts dating Braydon,
Thinks about Zane
Zane makes an appearance and is possessive and stalkerish
Lucky gives in to Zane; moves across the country with him
Lucky and Zane have 'The Talk' on the plane; decide to try (Try what?!)
Zane acts moody and mysterious; Lucky pushes for answers
Lucky and Zane are together for a few weeks;
Still don't know each other very well;
Zane's possessive and has mean friends;
Braydon is a douche and Lucky goes out with him
Zane has possessive freak out
and out of nowhere

It's poorly written, the editing is bad, I didn't get a feel for anyone's personality and therefore didn't like or dislike anyone. The dialogue from the men was entirely unbelievable. Most of what was said sounded like what a woman would want to hear and not what a man would actually say. The main character tells all of the guys they are acting creepy at one point or another but she still goes on dates with them or sleeps with them. And, SPOILER ALERT, the main love interest tells her not to hang out with another guy because he is "shady" but what he doesn't tell her until the very end is that the guy is a freaking drug dealer! If he was so concerned about her safety, which he claimed to be throughout the story, he would have dropped that bomb immediately to warn her away. So much didn't make sense. She's focused on school and work drops everything, withdraws from all of her classes a semester away from graduating, in order to follow a guy she's known for a day to L.A. to work on a documentary with him. If this girl were my friend, I'd tell her she's an idiot and to pump the brakes a little.

Geez, where to start....this book just was all wrong but MAN the cover was hot, wasn't it? I bet you where like "damn Gina, this book gonna be hottttttttt". At least that was me. This book fell so flat I actually felt sorry for it. The heroine was so friggin annoying, and that's alot coming from me. As I typically like the easy going, more submissive heroines. But damn, this bitch was dumb. The whole premise just didn't add up. From jumping around about his weekly Friday dates, to suddnly working for this hot wealthy man, to dropping school, to her Civil Rights Major suddenly playing a huge part, I was just dumb founded. I mean, nothing was thought out or at least written out enough to make the connections make sense and make you go "oh yeah, alright, I see what's going on" - uh no, you were like, "wait, what? Oh, okay, this is going to play itself out, let's see where this part's going...oh wait, no, nevermind, it's not importa...oh no, okay it is importan...son of a bitch, what??! Okay, nevermind, bitch is crazy." Yeah, that was me after the first 5% for the whole book. And after a rush of change of heart in the last 6% of the book, everyone's happy, but for some reason, there's going to be a second book, because yeah, people really wanna read more about this crazy couple....no, they don't...author shoulda put the time into the first book and it could have been so good, maybe the second book would've been about her old roommate. I really didn't like this book. 1.5 stars for cover alone.

Damn. I had such high hopes for this one. I'm bummed it didn't turn out so well for me. I felt the characters were under-developed. There wasn't enough background into some aspects of the story - Zane's issue came *LATE* and Lucky's were basically skimmed over in the beginning. I sadly didn't feel any connection to the characters and I for sure didn't feel any romance here. Lust? Sure. But I didn't see their (Lucky and Zane's) connection. And there really isn't any romance. They head out to LA together and end up in his bed. The entire book consists of him being someone who will NEVER fall in love and doesn't want to be in love (stressed numerous times), but all changes when she goes to lunch with his enemy. The entire book feels rushed and jumbled. And the names in this book!! Lucky Starr Morgan?? Braydon Eagle?? It drove me absolutely nuts.
Essentially, this one just wan't for me. I usually love stories like this, but for many reasons I didn't particularly enjoy The Last Boyfriend. It's a great concept but I feel it could've been executed better.

All those people that rated with 5 stars should start reading more and better books... I mean, this was bad!
I saw the ratings and thought to give it a try. I read it all in one day, because it's really short. I am not opposed to short stories, i am, however, opposed to bad stories. This was poorly written, there were many holes in the story, you don't get attached to any character, you don't like Braydon or Zane, for that matter in any part of the book. I totally get the mistery part that it was supposed to happen but it didn't work. It was a bad constructed story.
Dead brother, dead parents, girlfriend, drug dealing... Oh! What was the point in writing about a "love" that he felt when he was a kid? Just stupid, an excuse for the reader to think he's talkin about someone else, and it was really bad.
Also bad that the declaration of love in he end? Corny, cheesy and just... Not good at all. If someone said those things to me I think I would start laughing... And I am a really pro-romance!!!

Initial Thoughts:
I was looking for a light, quick read and this one had some good reviews. It also fit with my ridiculous romance novel streak I've got going on lately.
The Pros:
Lucky's "rules" that she instated were really smart. I wish I would have given myself some of those rules back in my early 20's.
I liked the scenes in the diner. Something about being a bystander watching someones life unfold intrigues me.
There was an element of suspense that I somewhat enjoyed throughout the book.

Zane is a crazy psycho stalker. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. It is NOT romantic when a guy controls and follows you and every move you make.
Needless to say, I did NOT find Zane swoon worthy. At all.
Oh you set some rules up so your heart didn't broken again, did you Lucky? Let's throw all of them out the window for the first guy you met! Sounds like a plan to me.
The Braydon/Angelique/party crowd was confusing. It took me a really long time to understand what the hell was going on.
The whole civil rights era documentary, while a cool idea, was totally out of place. It felt like it was just shoved in there to give the story some sort of substance.

I was a beta reader and received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I have to admit that in the beginning I was thinking that Zane was a crazy stalker serial killer or something but when you delve into the book and learn about the man, you find yourself falling helplessly in love. Lucky is a lot more trusting then she should have been. She took chances that most sane women wouldn't but if you don't take chances you don't reap great rewards. I knew that there was something about Brayden, I just couldn't put my finger on it.
J.S. Cooper has a way of weaving words into powerful pictures that you long to hold onto. I was amazed that she was able to draw me in with the first two chapters and leave me, literally, begging for more. I have read her other works and she just keeps getting better and better. :)

I was given an ARC copy of this book by the author.
When I first started reading it I was hooked from the beginning. Needless to say I was only given 2 chapters at a time to read. After I was done reading those chapters I felt like I was left with a cliffhanger and wanting more. When I finally got the whole story I was hooked and I couldn't put it down. I loved the story that was building with Zane and Lucky. Even though I found myself wanting to scream at them for fighting against their feelings. I had no idea what was coming when I finally found out about Braydon. What a crazy mess that was. Hopefully in the next book The Last Husband everything works out for everyone. I can't wait to read that one.

what a fantastic book!!!! i got so hooked into the story!!! Lucky and Zane together kept me laughing out loud....the way their characters could go from being serious to cracking eachother...loved it! my fave part is Lucky talking about her parents, very touching! the plot kept me guessing the whole time and it is just so well written. cant wait for The Last Husband!!!! 5+stars for The Last Boyfriend!!!

I can't even begin to say how much of a monstrosity this book is. A complete clusterfuck.
We start the adventure of the half page prologue in Zane's third person. It was just enough to leave you on a questionable edge.
So what I gathered from that is, Zane is either an incredibly sensitive man, driven to find himself, or he is a CIA agent. Unfortunatly for me, he was neither.
So now we're introduced to Lucky, who works at the diner that Zane takes his dates to. A new girl every Friday.
From what I have now gathered, I know how the book will end. I mean, it doesn't take an Einstein to work that one out. But now I know that it won't work well, because of her man criteria.
Now, picture yourself in a hot guy's house wearing said hot guy's clothes, looking at hot guy drinking hot chocolate:
Need I actually say anything? I'm going to say it anyway. Fucking clichés everywhere, not even the ones you can awe and ahh at.
There was one part, in said hot guy's house, where I happened to enjoy the conversation, for once.
This was the only time they spoke together where I laughed instead of cringed.
Lucky and Zane had literally spoken together for 5 minutes before this. I. Kid. You. Not.
Our beloved Hollywood star Brayden proposed this statement:
Sounds like a line straight from The Bachelor.
Guess what the bolded words mean. Go on, I dare you.

Overall, the book was totally predictable. The twists and turns were really not all that surprising, I don't think much can surprise me anymore. Lucky and Zane didn't do it for me. They were both fucking immature, hot and cold and confusing and indecisive as hell.

I really enjoyed this book. I was completely intruded by Zane. You know he's hiding something, and I found myself running down a thousand possible roads as to what it might be. I did get close, but I never quite figured it out. I love a book like that. I like not knowing the whole story. It think the "mystery" was my favorite part of the book. The plot was original (once you know what's going in behind the scenes) and I enjoy being surprised.
This is not to say I didn't like Lucky and Zane's relationship, but if that was all there was, I think I would have gotten bored. Zane was an interesting character. He's hot, rich, and not looking for a commitment, of any kind. However, he's intrigued by Lucky, and tries to have "something" with her, even though he knows she's a "relationship" kind if girl. I liked Zane a lot, right up until the last few pages. Then I felt like he suddenly did a 180. It was a little too fast for me.
Lucky, now she I felt a bit more conflicted about. I'm tired of heroines who suddenly toss away good sense because of hormones. Her wildly flip flopping emotions gave me whiplash occasionally. One minute she's vowing she wants a chance with Zane, and she's willing to risk heartbreak for it, and the next she's deciding the risk isn't worth it. Honestly, this might actually be more realistic then just the straight line thinking, but it drove me crazy. She came off as terribly naive at times and way too trusting. It's not that there is nothing to like about Lucky. She is obviously an incurable romantics, and leads with her heart and not her head. In the end, I'm sure if she had let her head lead, she wouldn't have ever gotten through to Zane.
I'm interested to see how their relationship plays out in the next book.

So many mixed reviews! What should you believe as a reader?? (Mild Spoilers)
First off you can def tell this is self published (not bad in my eyes) as someone who eventually wants to self publish too I read lots of books like this....NA, con-rom novels are my fav! This fits nicely into that title.
So was it as great as Abbi Glines novels (which are my fav)? No. It wasn't. But it still was okay, fun, cute, and a quick read. I'd recommend it.
It starts with Lucky as a waitress serving the mysterious, rich, kind of snobbish Zane. He eats at the restaurant she works at every Friday night and is with a different woman each time. Lucky ends up meeting him somewhere outside the restaurant, he helps her when her car breaks down (in a very creepy I'm watching u Edward Cullen sort of way) and from there the two hit it off.
A lot of this book is quick banter back and forth. Sometimes it was a little forced and a little hard to follow. Sometimes it was very funny. I laughed like three times out loud.
The two finally get together i.e have sex. And the sex scenes weren't lacking in the least. Just the right amount of detail there. I'm pretty sure the author used the phrases 'member' and hard length'. Hehe. Makes me giggle and think of my aunt's romance novels I used to read as a teenager. Hehe.
Then a two week period skips by and the end happens very fast. There is a giant declaration of love and this is where I think a lot of the more negative reviewers had a problem. Zane is very non-commitment and then does a 180 at the end. I actually wished he would have said those three little words. They could have been saved for book 2. It just was a weird character flip. Simply saying he wanted to be her bf would have made for a better ending. Whatever. I enjoyed the other 99% of the novel. I think a 99cent price tag would be more appropriate.
Would I read the 2nd novel??? Hmm. I'm not sure yet.
First off you can def tell this is self published (not bad in my eyes) as someone who eventually wants to self publish too I read lots of books like this....NA, con-rom novels are my fav! This fits nicely into that title.
So was it as great as Abbi Glines novels (which are my fav)? No. It wasn't. But it still was okay, fun, cute, and a quick read. I'd recommend it.
It starts with Lucky as a waitress serving the mysterious, rich, kind of snobbish Zane. He eats at the restaurant she works at every Friday night and is with a different woman each time. Lucky ends up meeting him somewhere outside the restaurant, he helps her when her car breaks down (in a very creepy I'm watching u Edward Cullen sort of way) and from there the two hit it off.
A lot of this book is quick banter back and forth. Sometimes it was a little forced and a little hard to follow. Sometimes it was very funny. I laughed like three times out loud.
The two finally get together i.e have sex. And the sex scenes weren't lacking in the least. Just the right amount of detail there. I'm pretty sure the author used the phrases 'member' and hard length'. Hehe. Makes me giggle and think of my aunt's romance novels I used to read as a teenager. Hehe.
Then a two week period skips by and the end happens very fast. There is a giant declaration of love and this is where I think a lot of the more negative reviewers had a problem. Zane is very non-commitment and then does a 180 at the end. I actually wished he would have said those three little words. They could have been saved for book 2. It just was a weird character flip. I really found this book to be an original and it was a very enjoyable read. It's a little difficult to say what it is about, but essentially there is a 22 year old woman named Lucky. She is a student and works as a waitress at a diner to make her ends meet. While working there, she meets a rich, hot & sexy guy named Zane. Lucky is not interested in dating to have her heart broken again, so she has set rules for herself so that the next guy she dates will be the last guy she dates. Zane is a total playboy, also not interested in love or commitment. Ok, so when I say it like that, maybe it doesn't sound too original, but this is where it starts to get interesting. Lucky starts working for Zane and during that process is introduced to his world and starts learning more about Zane and why he is so broken. It is really a sweet story of 2 people finding out about themselves and how to love another person. I kept thinking that I figured out where it was going, only to be led in another direction. There are several other characters involved in the story (Braydon, Angelique, Noah) and there is going to be another book which will tie up many of the loose ends. Even though there are loose ends, there is a satisfying ending to this book, so don't let that stop you from reading it!

Lucky has watched Zane bring a different girl into the restaurant where she works every Friday night. She secretly wishes she was the girl on his arm and in his bed. Zane comes to Luckys’ rescue one night and she wonders if this night will make her dream come true. One could hope right? Lucky is offered a job from Zane to be his assistant; it’s not really what she wants from Zane but it’s a dream job for Lucky. Zane has secrets but he lets Lucky know up front he’s not looking for a girlfriend, relationship or even love. He has a past that has been rough and learns the hard why that loving always leads to having your heart broken. Can Lucky break through Zane walls and make him realize that their more to life than going through a different women?
“The Last Boyfriend” was a great read. I read the book in one day because I could not put it down. You will love both Lucky and Zane one minute and hate both of them the next. This book will make you smile then make you mad and will end in a surprise you didn’t see coming. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a light and funny romantic read.

I was Lucky enough to get to be a beta reader as long as I gave an honest review so without further ado...
Lucky is a girl whom has lost a great deal in her life but has rose above it and came up with a plan to find her Last Boyfriend! She is a strong,smart,funny and sometime stubborn woman who is in college and supports herself. She works as a waitress and watches Zane parade a bunch of women through the diner every friday! She goes to a party one night and meets Braydon whom is a sexy hollywood actor and seems down to earth and likes her.
Zane very sexy kinda crazy man seems to be torn between wanting Lucky and not crossing the line and don't like Braydon taking to her.
Braydon good looking and funny Hollywood star likes Lucky also.He is funny and erratic.
I loved reading this book.It kept me wanting to read to find out what happens from one minute to the next and wondering where this triangle of people and parade of women will lead you. Bottom line is does she find her Last Boyfriend? A must read very fun and entertaining!
If you have read books from J.S. Cooper before you will love this too she is growing as a writer book by book!

I am honored to have been selected to be a beta reader for this book. Lucky is just that. Lucky. I loved this book and impatiently await the next. The relationship between lucky, Zane , and Brayden is enough to drive you insane. I wanted Lucky to choose correctly but couldn't decide until the end who that would be. This book definitely does not disappoint and is no where close to predictable. I don't want to say to much so that I ruin it for everyone else. I think this is a definite TBR book. Cooper is awesome and very personable and respects her readers and input they give.

I think this author is a hit and miss or a one hit wonder. I liked a book of hers and this was a direct piece of sh*t in comparison. The writing was Wattpad. Wattpad material (that's my biggest insult by the way)

I think she meant "because". The h can't keep with a conversation and is always confused and a ditz.
“He grinned. “You’re one smart cookie.”
LOOOL. This was my undoing.
And whenever I hear this line:
“I’m not most girls.”
I know it's the end. -_-
DNF somewhere relatively early.

Oh how I need a Zane in my life! I was on the edge of my seat through the whole book! Wonderful story line and loved the characters! Must read will not be disappointed!
