EJ: The odds of escaping with my life were slim, but I had to try. I was raised in hell and loved by its leader. He abused me in every imaginable way. I needed to get out, to survive.
So, I borrowed a motorcycle—temporarily, of course.
But that bike? It belonged to the president of The Phantoms Motorcycle Club. Needless to say he was pissed and decided to enslave me as a club girl.
Only, nothing was what I thought and his revenge was starting to feel a lot like love.
Creed: I was having one of those days—so bad it was cliche. Then, to top it off, my Harley was stolen. I was beyond furious. Especially when I discovered that the thief’s ex was a member of our rivals, The Kings.
She brought her drama, to my club, my family, and my town.
Messing with her became my new favorite hobby and pushing her boundaries was just an added bonus.
But somewhere between her stealing my ride and punching my face, I found myself falling for My Little Thief.
I received an ARC of this from LaBrie, and could not have been more excited!! This is an MC romance, so definitely different than her other books. I loved it!!! Being able to write in one genre is impressive, but LaBrie has covered 2 now, and I've eaten them up!! This is a beautiful love story between 2 people, but also a love story for themselves. The MCs both have A LOT of trauma and heartache to work through. We get to see them find love for one another and more importantly, themselves. The spice is FANTASTIC!! The amount was perfect and the scenes were perfect. Chef's kiss!! I absolutely recommend this book to anyone that loves MC romance, action, twists, turns, secrets, betrayals, and steamy schmex. Thank you, LaBrie, for the chance to ARC read!!!
"Sometimes, lost hearts could be found again in unexpected places." I think EJ might be one of my favorite characters that LaBrie James has written. I felt like the characters were relatable. I liked being brought back into the world of Coppertin again and the crumbs from The Inevitability of Us.
I had the absolute honor of reading this book as a Beta reader and WOW, what a ride. Literally.
This motorcycle club romance is set in LaBrie’s gritty and magnetic Coppertin universe, and she delivers with heart, heat, and emotional depth.
Elizabeth (EJ), is a fierce FMC with a painful past and a quiet strength that had me cheering for her from the very start. The story kicks off quickly when she steals a motorcycle to escape a dangerous situation. It just happens to belong to Creed, the president of The Phantoms Motorcycle Club. Every moment between them sizzles with tension, broody banter, and undeniable chemistry. Watching EJ fight for freedom while slowly letting her guard down with Creed makes this book easy to get lost in.
And Mo? Total scene stealer. I would follow that girl into her own spin off in a heartbeat.
As someone who has read LaBrie’s other books, I loved spotting the Easter eggs and familiar faces woven throughout. She does such a beautiful job layering characters and timelines while still giving each story space to shine on its own.
If you are in the mood for • A motorcycle club romance with emotional grit • A tough but tender hero and a resilient heroine • Found family feels and a rich interconnected world to explore
4.5 stars! I’m so grateful I got to read this early, because wow, what a ride.
From the very beginning, I was pulled into this world of rival motorcycle clubs, loyalty, trauma, and healing. The story follows EJ, a woman trying to escape a life of abuse, and Creed, a morally gray MC leader who ends up being more honorable than expected. Their meeting is intense, their chemistry crackling, and their journey emotionally rich.
This book deals with some heavy topics—abuse, trauma, and the complicated world of motorcycle club dynamics. And yet it’s balanced with love, and a slow journey toward healing. The supporting characters brought depth and heartbreak too, making the world feel layered and real.
By the final pages, I had full-body goosebumps. Labrie gave these characters the ending they deserved—hopeful, earned, and genuinely moving. Highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys romance with darker edges and emotional payoff.
The Enemy Between Us is a wild ride that grabs you from the start. EJ, our fierce female lead, is on the run from her abusive husband and makes a bold move by stealing Creed’s motorcycle. Creed is the ultimate biker bad boy—smoking cigarettes and smelling like coffee and leather, he’s the kind of guy you can’t help but be drawn to.
Their first encounter is anything but smooth, and the tension between them is electric. EJ is tough and rebellious, while Creed is the chaotic good type who has a soft spot hidden beneath his rough exterior. As they navigate their complicated lives and the dangerous world of biker gangs, their initial aggression turns into something much deeper….and hotter 😈
I loved the playful nickname “trouble” that Creed gives EJ; it fits her perfectly! The chemistry between them is spicy and dirty, with plenty of banter that had me laughing. If you’re into dark romance filled with rough bikers and feisty heroines, this book is definitely for you. It’s a steamy, thrilling read that keeps you hooked.
- Motorcycle gang - Asshole x brat - Found family - Spice - Fight scenes - Trigger warnings ‼️ - A plethora of nicknames (my favorite is “Trouble” for EJ) - A very brief horse ride together…wish it was longer. I’ll never change my cowboy loving ways 💁🏼♀️
This is my 4th reading of LaBrie James (and my first ever ARC) and I got to say, my girl did the damn thing! Her first dive into romance (mc) and I am not mad! While LJ and Corey will always hold a place in my reader heart, treading out of familiar waters with the Hunted Series, the messy ride with Creed and EJ is anything but short coming. “The Enemy between Us” comes out the garage, full throttle and is anything but a slow ride! While the MCs are dealing with a lot of traumas from messed up stuff in their past, they are helping each other to heal and become stronger together, not even realizing it. The spice with a splash of dark, was a perfect blend for my taste. While the story sets us up to see the mother of Creeds daughter (Mo) as an antagonist, I can not help but feel somewhat sorry for her, given her past she has to be a little messed up, right?!? LaBrie’s ability to write across different genres without losing her style makes her a must add to your bookshelf.
Another great story from Labrie James! This is in the same Coopertin universe as The Inevitability Of Us, but this new one can be read as a stand alone. This story follows EJ who steals Creed's motorcycle. He just happens to be the MC Prez. That alone would get you killed in most stories, but she's almost dead anyway. Creed takes her in to show her what a true family is by introducing her to his fellow brothers, family, and daughter. I loved the story of EJ and Creed coming from terrible Ex's and healing separately and together. James is writing is full of action, longing, and of course a little mystery in this found family motorcycle club set in a small town where everyone knows everyone and every character interaction makes you yearn for their own story to be told. I can't wait to see what happens next in Coopertin!
After reading The Inevitability of Us, I was so intrigued by the mc club mentioned in the book (especially because of a certain uhm beast cough cough). I needed more from the Coppertin world and LaBrie James DELIVERED.
The characters in this book were amazing. Elizabeth, EJ, was such a fierce fmc with a past and she had so much strength in her that had me rooting for her till the end.
I absolutely loved the way in which the mcs of the book met. The tension and banter between them had entertained me and made me want to read the book till it ended. The way that EJ started putting her trust in Creed had me teary-eyed.
I loved the glimpses of the other characters that we got and NEED more from this beautiful world the author has built.
Thank you so much to the author for an arc to read and review!
Two characters in need of love. One gripping story. After Creed finds the culprit who stole his motorcycle, he doesn’t expect for her to steal his hardened heart. EJ was escaping a troubled situation—she didn’t expect to find comfort in the gruff president of the rival MC club. The grittiness, edginess and rawness of their layered, dark love story help me captive, I was immersed into their world, entangled in their situation and their minds with the authentic and faceted writing and the suspenseful, serpentine and spicy plot and setting. The sole female narrator, Hoover Lynn, was exceptional in her role of bringing this motorcycle club romance to life. Her pitch and emotion for each character was defined and riveting. 4.5 stars I had the opportunity to read/listen early, thoughts are my own, honest and voluntary.
Oh my goodness I loved Creed and EJ! I have read multiple books by Labrie James and she never disappoints. The enemy between us was super easy to get sucked into and didn’t leave any space for you to get bored. It was heartwarming and action packed all at the same time! The plot and story line were phenomenal. The character development, the banter, the spice- it was all superb! Love me a good MC story, and this one felt different than others that I’ve read! Thank you for a wonderful read! Definitely recommend!
Labrie James delivers with The Enemy Between Us! I am a fan of MC romances, and when I heard that she was writing one? I begged her to write it faster, to give me any crumb she could to hold me over. Creed and EJ are the epitome of enemies, and I was on the edge of my seat as James brought them together. This book is binge-worthy. Action, steam, suspense, and heart all culminate in probably my favorite Labrie James book to date. All I have left to say is this - when can I have the next book?
EJ and Creed's meet-cute was more like a meet-chaotic , but their chemistry was instant! I loved their hilarious banter and the way they challenged each other. Despite their dark pasts, they shared a deep longing for freedom and happiness. The story had its heavy moments, but the author balanced them with plenty of feel-good scenes. And let's be real, Cosmo stole the show! Definitely would recommend this book. Can't wait to read more of this series 😁
LaBrie never fails to amaze me! This Motorcycle Romance was full of all the feels and everything I was hoping it would be! EJ & Creeds story stole my heart. I loved watching them both overcome the shit life has thrown at them and still come out on top and better than ever. If you love enemies to lovers you have got to pick this up as your next read!
Oh my! This book contains quite a bit of risqué content. I might be a little past the age for this kind of kinkiness, but it's still an enjoyable read!
I listened to the audio book, and it was the perfect listen.
This story showed that there is power with love in healing
Creed and EJ brought each other back to life. Enemies and friends to lovers all in one. Creed was the bad boy with good intentions and EJ assumed he was like the rest and needed an escape. Little did they know all the secrets, lies, and trauma they would unravel together.
ARC REVIEW: This book had me all up in my emotions from the moment it started. It follows the story of two people from two sides of a coin and how they live through it. I truly loved this story and everything about it 👀❤️
LaBrie James' latest book is an exhilarating page-turner you won’t want to put down! As a busy mom and student, I absolutely adore her captivating writing style. From the moment you dive into the Coopertin Universes, you feel you have discovered a world with many stories to be told. This novel beautifully intertwines the lives of unexpected characters during life-altering moments. Together, they confront the storms brewing within themselves and the chaos swirling around them. What makes this book even more exciting is the dual perspective—it’s told through the eyes of Creed and EJ! Experiencing the story from both sides adds such depth and intrigue. James really took a bold step by injecting more spice into this novel, and it totally paid off! Unlike other books I’ve read from indie authors before, the variety in the steamy scenes is simply delightful! If you're a fan of James’ previous works, you’re in for a treat with familiar faces popping up in the most unexpected places! I particularly loved the nostalgic moment when Opedia made an appearance on the radio. This book is a must-read!
We’re back in the Coppertin universe but this time, we’re spending a lot more time with the Phantoms motorcycle club! I know Labrie went back and forth on a lot of things, but one thing that can’t be denied is that, like her other stories, this one is beautifully written. You can’t help but become immersed in the world she’s created.
EJ and Creed didn’t exactly have what you’d call a meet cute, but from that very first interaction, I loved the underlying chemistry between them. Sure, we had to get past the whole her stealing his bike situation, but hey it turned out okay lol.Their banter was hilarious, the chemistry was great and the spice? The spice was really spicing!
They’d both been through a lot, and what drew me in most was how despite their different pasts they shared the same longing: freedom, and the courage to move forward and find happiness.
While the book had some darker, heavier moments, there were also plenty of feel good ones too. And of course, it goes without saying, I loved every single scene with Cosmo. Even the one that hurt like hell. Whew. I wanted to cry for both Creed and Cosmo more than once.
Overall, I really enjoyed this one, and I cannot wait to see which Phantom gets their story next!
LaBrie really has a way of writing a story that just pulls at your heart. This was definitely one of those stories. I absolutely loved being back in the coppertin world, and getting crumbs from the inevability of us - but what I loved the most was the individual stories of EJ & Creed, while heart breaking and tragic, it brought them together to make an even stellar story together.
"Sometimes lost hearts could be found again in unexpected places." And that quote right there just sums up this beautifully tragic story, and gives you hope that even in the worst of times, when you think you're life cannot get any better and you're not worthy - it can and you are. ❤️
Another solid novel from LaBrie and another reason that she will ALWAYS have my support and I'll scream her praises from a roof top. 🙌🏻
EJ and Creed. The couple you may hate to love. She’s a spitfire and he’s a grumpy closet teddy bear. Their romance captured me, maybe because I can relate. That’s what I love about Labrie’s stories - the characters are relatable and her style keeps me hooked. Neither of these MC’s have had an easy life and their baggage definitely gets in the way as they navigate this forbidden relationship. But it’s a such a fun ride!
If you love a good MC romance, I def recommend it!
*Beta read in March and then re-read arc copy w/revisions in May/June*
EJ, the FMC, is a strong-willed woman, battling trauma. The book starts off with a bang, and just keeps you hanging on and wishing it wouldn't end. Creed, the MMC, is the Phantoms MC President, and man, he's in for a ride.
This book is all about EJ and Creed overcoming betrayals and trauma, while learning to let each other inside their steel walls. These characters are some of my favorites. I loved this so much, and I can't wait to read the next book. Thank you, once again, LJ!
I have no words to describe the emotions that flow through this book. highs and lows, edge of your seat, laughing hysterically because of Creed and EJ, the anger becaude of Creeds ex wife, the heartbreak between father and daughter. but also their undeniable love towards oneanother . There's without a doubt, not a single dull moment. EJ has a strength that I wish I had, and Creeds immediate protection against her, them to make her realize her own strength. It amazing, emotionally wrecking on some parts. They are my favorite overgrown toddlers. Who wouldn't want a dinosaur cake!! The enemy between us is a must read. It shows you the amazing struggle and strength between two lost and broken souls who fuse together to create one beautiful soul together. no matter how much you're broken, there is ALWAYS someone there to take your hand and lift you up. I wouldn't change it for anything. I love reading LaBrie James books, she is one of the few authors that I'm impatiently waiting from the next, she NEVER disappoints and ALWAYS has you second guessing the twists and turns, justwhe you think you know what's going to happen? bamph! plot twist. I'm extremely grateful to be apart of her team and the chance to read her books. If you need a new author addiction, then LaBrie James is just what you're looking for.
This is the 5th book that I have read by LaBrie James and she never disappoints. This was my first MC romance and I really enjoyed it! So I can't say if it follows that trope well or not but it also has some enemies-to-lovers vibes which I am here for. The main characters, Creed and EJ, come from different MC clubs with very different morals so they banter and fight but obviously fall in love somewhere in there. I feel like the plot was interesting. I liked all the new characters introduced and am excited to see the Coppertin Universe expand. James' books are always a little dark but with such heartwarming scenes of love thrown in, I can't help but love them. In this book, the ray of light was with the entire Finch family. They are such a big family that is so tight-knit and I love how they all love to be around each other and have fun.
This book doesn't release until June 7th. You can preorder on Amazon right now or get the book on her website when it comes out. On her website she also has some cool swag to buy to help support her since she is such a small author still. Her website is: https://www.labriejames.com/
I highly recommend this book-or any of hers if you like romance stories that run a little dark.
This is my second book by LaBrie and she has knocked it out of the park once again! I am blown away of the details she puts into her books making you feel like you are there in the story along with the characters. The story of EJ, Creed and Felix is one you will definitely get sucked into not wanting to stop reading. Is EJ safe with Creed after she fled her prior clubs grasps? With the twists and turns of this growing love story, EJ finds her self under going a transformation she didn’t know she needed. Buckle up and get ready for a love story packed full of adventure, spice, and characters that will make you fall in love with them. This book was a 4.5 for me! I hope you snag a copy on June 7th and enjoy the ride. 🫶
The Enemy Between Us took me by surprise in the best way possible. Labrie James has crafted a story that diverges from her previous works—it's much spicier, featuring just two viewpoints, and the conclusion is refreshingly straightforward. It’s clear that she poured her heart into this piece. I'm thrilled to have had the opportunity to read it ahead of its release.
As always, LaBrie James delivered a super fun read without any lulls. Loved this MC romance! It had the perfect amount of spice and action. I have read all of her other books and have yet to be disappointed. Do yourself a favor and pick it up!
This was a great read, it took me a couple chapters to get into it, but once I did I couldn't stop reading it!!! I can't wait to see what's to come next!!!
I am absolutely buzzing about this book! It's a fiery enemies-to-lovers motorcycle romance that’s packed with snappy banter and electric chemistry. Creed and EJ have totally stolen my heart! I can’t wait for you all to dive in—I know you’re going to have a blast with it!
