I can’t evaluate this translation over another, but it’s a very readable translation. When I rate something 4 stars it means I recommend the book, and I recommend this for a certain category of people: Too many people talk about the Book(s) of Enoch like it’s something mystical and mysterious, but here it is, very accessible and not overly complicated, and not long at all, either.

Problems with the Audible version: The AI did a good enough job reading, but if you’re unfamiliar with some of the words the bad pronunciations might be hard to follow. Also, the author interrupted the book several times (I lost count after 4) to ask for a book review. On principle I was tempted not to review this book at all.

3 different books with a Revelationy atmosphere.
1 Enoch: The big one, the cool one, the one that mattered. The beginning, the book of watchers, is the most interesting part. With the story of fallen angels, Nephilim, heavenly realms, and divine judgement. Enoch, for a smart guy, was against accumulation of knowledge. Also 1 Enoch has a lot of messianic prophecies about the son of man; more than any Old testament book. It has an astronomy section too. I didn't know the sun and the moon were the same size till Enoch told me. Then it has an animal farm-esque dream covering all of history. Plus a weird tale of the birth of Noah, who was apparently albino.
2 Enoch: Enoch tours the circles of heaven (described in Dante-esque style). Some of the circles really suck. He comes back for 30 days to tell the tale then reascends. Later Melchizedek, the mysterious type of Christ, is virgin birthed.
3 Enoch: Enoch has now been promoted to Metatron, the Decepticon angel. Then it talks about how angel x bowed down to angel y, and angel y bowed down to angel z, and angel z bowed down to angel food cake and so on. Then it says holy holy holy a lot, which is hilarious in the AI read audiobook because the AI tries to vary its speech patterns, leading to a fantastic variety of holy holy holys. This was easily the weirdest of the 3 books.

Better than the one I read yesterday at least each author is telling us they have change and manipulated the text for the reader. Fill in where text is missing, add a little here and there. Next you have 3 books from who knows who writing about stuff that is out of this world….hint hint. Haha

Oh METATRON! All those dreams after so much…..(. ). How fun the ancient texts are.
