Love's Sacrifice

Rate this book
Shon Blake made a decision years ago, giving up the only man she’d ever gave herself to completely, securing his future, and sacrificing hers. She was shocked when she ran into Cody thirteen years later. As soon as their eyes met, sparks flew and one thing led to another and they ended up in each other’s arms. The connection between them is stronger than it’s ever been. Cody Mitchell took one look at Shon in boot camp and knew she would be his. He made a mistake years ago allowing her to walk out of his life without a fight. Running into her again reminded him of how much he missed her, he needed her more than ever. He wants her in his bed as his wife, and this time nothing will get in his way, not even the military. Can choices made in the past, be forgiven? Can this couple survive Love’s Sacrifices? This book contains explicit sexual content.

I married my best friend, the love of my life, we have two beautiful daughters, and I love serving my country. On my spare time, I love scribbling and making my words come to life. I love writing romance stories about couples that go through trials and come out stronger. Love is never easy, but it's worth all the hard work. Loves sacrifice is enduring.

Shon and Cody's Love journey. It seems to me that these two fell in love at first sight. Unfortunately they met while being in the Armed Forces (navy) and in the same way that Time marches on no matter what. So does the Navy and it pulls these two lovers apart. That alone is a tragedy in itself but when you have secrets thrown in there it can become very volatile to all those involved. Now I consider this story a short story because everything was pretty much done very quickly that aside I totally enjoyed the story and Ancelli's style of writing and subject matter. I recommend this book to you. <3

This was not my favorite by Ancelli, and I consider myself a real fan. I just felt the storyline was rushed and simply unrealistic, and here's why:

-Man and woman reunite in a club/bar after thirteen years, and the sparks/sexual tension is still there, so they immediately, and I mean immediately hop in the sack like they just saw each other last week.

-Woman is hiding a major secret: She has a 12 yr daughter by this guy and never told him, hence, love's sacrifice.

-Man is super pissed at finding out woman had his child but never told him-but he's only pissed for a minute...he got over that really quickly.

I'm sure this was meant to be a quick, feel-good read, and for fans of Ancelli, we get the HEA that we all know and love her for, but there were just so many holes in the story for me-I would have liked to have known a little more about how Shon and Cody met and a little more about their initial courtship, but I get it. It was about the present and how this couple dealt with the fallout of love's sacrifice.

4.5 Stars Can past hurts be forgiven? Shon fell in love with Cody 13 years ago and only a twist of fate puts him in her life again. They immediately pick up where they left off, but Shon has a secret that will turn Cody's World upside down. However, they soon discover that the feelings they have for each other must be denied. This type of storyline parent and the child. I really didn't see the necessity to keep the secret for so many years. She was plain wrong for doing that. Lastly, (I can't remember her name) should have been written up for insubordination (demoted) with the rude comment she made to Shon and Cody, her Superior Officers.

I didn't really enjoy this one as much as the others. I think the storyline was under developed and a little rushed.

What does one do when you find out you have a child 13 years later by the love that got away? This storyline had the potential to be awesome, but fell short.

I loved this story!

I could feel the love chemistry with this couple from the beginning. It had been thirteen years since they’d seen each other. Their chemistry was just as strong now as it was back in the day. Shon Blake and Cody Mitchell met in Navy Boot Camp and help each other through the tough times. Cody was Shon’s protector and Shon pushed Cody to meet his goals he’d set for himself. Cody knew if it were not for Shon’s pushing him to achieve his goals, he’d end up working in a fast-food restaurant frying fries. He was a southern country boy, was raised on a farm and the Navy was his life. Shon knew that without Cody’s protection and support, she ends up washing dishes in a fast food restaurant somewhere. Little did he know that Shon made that ultimate sacrifice for Cody to meet his goals and he had. She made sure that he did by cutting off all contact with him because she knew that he would sacrifice everything to be with her if he knew her sacrifice. He met his goal and was still on the upwardly mobile fast track as a Naval officer. He was now a Lieutenant Commander. He expected her to be an officer after thirteen years but she was only a Senior Chief.

Their unexpected surprise reunion caused Cody to realize just how miserable he was without Shon. He missed her terribly when she broke his heart by breaking all contact with him. She was the missing link in his life she was not going to get away this time. To hell with the fraternization rules, he’d find a way to be with his missing family, and he did. He was determined and was not going to let the Navy or anyone else keep them apart from their HEA.

Love This Author

Ancelli is a great writer and one of my favorites. This was a good story. Wish there had gone in more about his parents meeting their granddaughter a little more but still a good story.

Somewhat predictable!

This was a somewhat predictable story but still a fun read. It was a sweet, "getting to know you" again military romance. Having grown up in a military family, I could relate.

This story had me from the beginning. I am a believer that a story is just a story even if it isn't long. As long as the tale is complete I have no problem with a short story. This is one of those short, complete stories that was well written as well as well thought out. Once the story ended, I had no lingering thoughts but a feeling of satisfaction. Shon Blake's sacrifices had her giving up the love of her life and a career. Cody Mitchell never knew what happened to make her withdraw from his love; And then he meets his daughter, Michelle. Thirteen years have passed and he doesn't know why Shon has kept this Big secret from him but he does know he wants them both in his life. What will he sacrifice?
Great short story and WELL worth my money and time. Thanks Ancelli!

Being the persnickety lover of Interracial Romance fiction that I am, I must say that I am absolutely impressed with the progress that Ancelli has made as a writer. With that being said, I hate having to give her latest endeavor anything less than 5 stars. Although I liked this book, it wasn't without its issues, which included an awkward start, a small amount of lag, and not to mention, the disconnect with the pre-teen character, "Michelle."

Other than that, this was a fun afternoon read produced by a writer who has the goods, but needs an intuitive eagle-eyed editor to help her work out the issues in her books.

Giving this one: 3 solid stars.

Worthy

Sometimes the sacrifices we make in life while painful are the best option available at that time. Sometimes we make decisions for ourselves and others without asking the other party. Shon did both and now it was time to pay the piper. Would Cody forgive her for making decisions that impacted him without asking his opinion? Buy the book and find out. It is worth the money and the time.

Ancelli has a gift of being able to take real situations and weave a story that has the reader emotionally invested deeply into the story. You find yourself weeping with them, laughing at them and loving them. Bravo Ancelli!

To willfully deprive a child of access to the love of a parent is sacrilege

2.00 stars. I have read and enjoyed many of this author's books but this is not one of them. The story of Naval soldiers Shon Blake and Mitchell Cody was sullied by the hateful deliberate act by Shon of denying Mitchell and his daughter knowledge of each other. After creating this fiasco with this character, the author spends over half of the book ineffectively trying to legitimize and redeem this character. The actions of the heroine in this story did not be cry love and sacrifice, they spoke of duplicity and guile. She knew how to contact this man and chose not to.

Shon is smart sister with a secret. She loves her job in the Navy but her secret is high on her priority list. Cody is a strong alpha and the once best friend of Shon. He also enlisted in the Navy with Shon. They were besties and lovers for a few years. 13 years have passed since Cody comes to her town to do a security inspection at her base. These two have another night of passion that rocks their worlds. When Cody shows up at her job, Shon's surprise walks in and upsets his world. Will Shon's secret allow Cody to leave Shon again or will it bring them closer together?

Another great read from a fabulous author..

Another excellent by read by author Ancelli

This was Shon and Cody's story. I loved the fact that the couple's connection could be felt right away. I loved that even after not seeing each other for 13 years their connection was instant and still hot.

The secret that Shon revealed I did not see coming and it made the story that more intense! Author Ancelli got me hooked from page 1 which is how I loved my stories to be, hits you right off the bat!

A great read!

Call the editor...Please!

Call the editor...Please!

I love, love, love Ancelli books. They have a lot of heart in them and someone is always pregnant. But who does the editing? In all her books there are so many typos. I buy them because I love the stories that she writes. All I ask is that you should get an editor or a better one because, they could be ***** star quality.

Awesome!

Awesome!

The perfect title for this perfect love story. Love is all about making sacrifices but no one sacrifices more, in my opinion, than military personnel. The long separations, missed special occasions and even being told who they can love (enlisted v officer). Shon & Cody deserved their HEA and I'm so happy they got it.

You know when someone sacrifices something and you're like "....why did you do that?" That wasn't a sacrifice, that was you playing the martyr in a situation that could easily have been resolved with trust and COMMUNICATION!

While this book is well-written, the actual cause of the main conflict within the book seemed very silly to me and unnecessary.

Great story, Ancelli loves to write books that melt my heart. It's awesome when love won't allow anything to stand in its way. Shon and Cody were too cute.
